Dr. Stephen E Boatwright

This so called doctor treated me for back and neck pain. I paid my co-pay each time I visited his office. After no longer using his practice to manage my pain I received a bill for approximately $450. I called to find out what this bill was for and I was told his previous billing firm was not very good and the company I was speaking with was NEW. When I asked for a detailed invoice so I could pay the "bill" I was told they did not have ANY backup from the previous agency so the current recievable firm could not provide a detailed invoice. Next I find he sent my account to a collection agency. I then called again and this time told that again another NEW company was handling his billing but again no one could provide me with ANY detailed invoice - they simply said "I OWE $450 with no backup). It is now 6+ years, my credit has gone down due to his lack of hiring a professional accounting firm and recently I find he sent my account to a new collection firm so this negative comment hurts my credit and apparently will never end (even though it should have ended a couple of years ago - it appears this bogus "bill" will never go away and has increased to $750 ----- EVEN THOUGH HE HAS NO BACKUP TO PROVIDE ME SO I COULD PAY THE BILL IF I FOUND IT TO BE CORRECT (I know I paid my copay each and every time I meet with Boatright.) As all can see his billing has messed my credit (not by much since I had an 800+ credit rating before his sending these made-up bills to collection.---- like anyone would do I did not and will not pay this bill since it is not something I owe!!! As a "pain specialist" he rates a "0" in my book and I would NEVER RECOMMEND his practice - I instead have found a professional pain management firm that has now provided facite injections, ablation and epideral injections RATHER THAN ADDICTIVE PAIN MEDS!!! Thankfully I have found appropriate physicians in the area - I personally feel Boatright is someone who found a great way to use his medical training to increase his fortune by providing addictive medications rather than find solutions to an individuals pain related problems. I have been seeing Dr Boatright for years and he's been extremely helpful. He explains my problems in detail and my options. The staff is very helpful and extremely friendly and make you feel very comfortable. Very compassionate doctor and understanding about pain. I don't know how I could have made it through the surgeries I've had and still need without his help. Dr Boatright and his staff deserve by far more than 5 stars. Very professional ??

Have seen Dr Boatwright for about a year or more, great Dr but don’t let some call to assume things because you’ll be discharged with “NO PROOF” of alleged call....

I give him my trust in Spine care this doctor is amazing....best doctor I have found here in myrtle beach I recommend him to all..and the nurses are wow the best and beautiful.....stephanie is my favorite..I just love that lady she cares like no other I ever have seen.

The office manager was so rude to me I decided to go elsewhere. The doctor should send her to orientation and learn how to talk to patients, especially patients in pain.

Highly recommend Dr Boatwright. He takes time with you and actually listens. Very compassionate and does testing to find out what the pain is coming from. Dr Boatwright and his staff explains everything to you and all the staff is super friendly. 5 star experience.

I wish I could give a zero star.

I saw Dr Boatwright for the chronic pain in my lower back, right hip and leg. He gave me shots in my back but I didn't get any relief. On my last visit 8/8/19 I went in to get my prescription of 100mg daily changed to 150mg twice daily. I called and asked the office personal if they could ask to make sure if I brought in my prescription of 100mg I could turn it in and get a prescription for 150mg twice daily and I was told yes. I asked please could you ask again and make sure because I didn't want to drive 60 miles for nothing. I was told no it's ok. When I went in for my appointment 8/8/19 and saw Kerri Frey PA she said she didn't know anything about it and she couldn't do anything about it. I told her that is what I had been told 3 different times and she said I don't know why they would say that. She said I didn't write it so she couldn't do it I had to go back to my PCP. I told her I was upset because I was expecting to get it taken care of and now I wasted my time and hers. And, I was upset due to being in pain for more than 3 month without pain relief. The nurse came in and tried to help stating I would have to wait 3 months because the prescription had already been shipped and to come in and then they would be able to write a new one. When I got to my appointment 10/14/19 I was told my appointment had been cancelled and I had been discharged because Kerri did not like negative comments I made about the office. Dr. Boatwright is a wonderful Doctor. I have been going there for several years. He is the Best in Myrtle Beach.

Dr.Boatwright is a miracle worker . one treatment my scale in 8 pain gone . he is very nice person also and wonderful staff .

Made nothing but promises, delivered on nothing. Told me he couldn't help me. Will be finding a new doctor. Worst experience with a "doctor" I've ever had in my life.

My Medical Doctor office had problems arranging consult with Dr Boatwright office and requested we check with Palmetto Pain Center about appointment. At Palmetto Spine and Pain Center we were given appointment time and paper work to have completed at time of appointment My husband had an appointment at 10:30 AM We arrived at Palmetto Spine and Pain Center at 10:20 AM and was informed that because we were not there at 9:45AM to put information in computer that the doctor would not see us. We were not ever informed to be there at 9:45AM when appointment was at 10:30 ! So if you not there 45minutes earlier they will not see you! This is no type of way to treat their patients who are in pain reaching out for help! They have no compassion for their patients ??

I wish I could give 0 stars. If you need help with pain do NOT go to this doctor or his practice. It will only cause you more pain! Steer very clear of Boatwright and his horrid office manager Tish.

Worst place I ve ever been stenosis in L4 an L5 bulging disk on syataca two knees replaced hips worn out , degenerate bone disease arthritis all over had mri xrays an everything to prove my condition an Pa told me I didn’t need any medicine!! Had excruciating pain was referred to Dr Boatwright office thru a Dr eggart Dr Boatwright an staff (The Best) I've been around all very compassionate and giving was able to sleep that night first time in at least two weeks Best Dr and Staff in the world to me THANK YOU

Very disappointed that i was ignored for over 3 weeks when I moved back to this area and wanted to be a patient again. I did nothing wrong while being a patient, and left on friendly terms when i moved to another state. I had paid for my records after I moved about 2 yrs ago. If I wasn't going to be accepted back in the practice, a prompt reply to my request would of been proper protocol, not ignore my several requests. Rumor has it that they don't want to take medicare.

Do not go to this doctor if you are in pain. You will waste up to 3 hours waiting. All he wanted to do was give me epidural shots that are dangerous and did not work at all for me.He threatened to take away my pain medication if I didn't take shots. After, three very scary shots that did not work he wanted to do a fourth! Would not take no for an answer! And, my pain is not in my back!

The staff of dr boatwright are very friendly. Page is very nice lady. They always help me when my pain starts to act up. I been with all different pain clinics and this one is the best. I wouldnt go no other place. So what if there behind and u have to wait. They care about there patients. When dr boatwright able to come back full time ill make sure i can make apptoinment with him. The pain clinic is the best ive ever been too.

I've been seeing the Doc since 2010, could not ask for a better pain specialist. He knows what he's doing, is compassionate and accommodating. Has kept me working longer then I would have been able to without his help. Sometimes the waiting time to go in the back and see him can be a little long, but it is totally worth it.

The doctor is excellent. Getting to a person to speak to at the office is another story. Unfortunately, they are automated and can take weeks to get back to you if they ever do.

Dr.Boatwright is by far the number one pain specialist on the Grand Strand. He goes above and beyond to show compassion, understanding, and empathy to his patients. He is extremely knowledgeable. Page,Tish, Tonya, Ashley, and all the staff are very loving, caring, and helpful. I cannot imagine going anywhere else. * Sometimes the truth hurts and our first response is to lash out in anger.* No one cares more about his patients than Dr. Boatwright. He would never knowingly talk bad about anyone!

after being dismissed over a test that was not mine...wrong date on it ...wrong info.I thought taking another test would resolve the issue.Oh no....humiliation.. To my.dismay they did not even process the second test and the company that does the testing confirmed they did not get 2nd test. The Office Manager Tish would not return calls. Thank you for making my life worse. The Office send me a letter saying they do not trust me???????? I can only hope others will not suffer this horrid Treatment

Great experience when being brought in, until it gets above his head. Don't do it! A mill and now he is studying to practice addiction medicine. What a great fit, create your own patient base!

Dr. Boatwright is by far the best doctor I have ever had. He is very caring and understanding when it comes to pain. For years, I suffered from debilitating back pain and was not taken seriously by other doctors. I credit Dr. Boatwright with restoring my quality of life and actually diagnosing my issues rather than just brushing me off as others had in the past. My problem actually required surgery and I may have lost the ability to walk without his care due to the lack of care from others.

Doctor Boatwright was the best doctor I ever had. He treated me before I moved away and continues to treat my mother until this day. He made it so I could continue to work for several years. Since I moved away, I became permanently disabled and suffer from extreme pain every day, all day. I miss his treatments. I highly recommend Dr. Boatwright to anyone suffering from extreme pain. He is the best you will ever find !!
