Dr. Stephen H Blum

Terrible communication, talked over me multiple times, took very few notes, made many false assumptions based upon demographics. For $220/hour I shouldn't have to repeat myself or ask a therapist to listen.

I found Dr. Blum extremely knowledgable about my specific issues. He was very supportive and always available by text or phone. I made a great deal of progress re: my problems and how they have affected my behavior. Time well spent.

Very professional, takes thorough client history, understands client's issues. Excellent education. Good confidential record keeping. May not display level of empathy many clients expect from a therapist right away, but I learned over time that he shows more sympathy/empathy as he gets to know the client. Answers client questions in a way clients will understand.

I don't know if Dr. Blum will remember me but I was in counseling back in the mid 90's and had marriage problems that I turned into a gambling addiction. The last time I saw him he had such compassion for me and what he said to me about gambling made me make some decisions in my life that saved me. I moved where casinos were 100's of miles from me and started a new life. I am back in Topeka now and just want to say THANK YOU and Merry Christmas!!!
