Pretended to listen. Dismissive of my concerns. Medical paternalism at its finest. Knew what was "best" for me, even though I am also a medical professional and am well aware of the science and biochemical explanations behind reasons for prescriptions. He wasn't familiar with dealing with the condition I have, even though it is WELL covered by family medical and general practitioners on the mainland. He didn't even correctly read the bottle I gave him before sending in my prescription. It should have cued me in when he said the name of my usual medication very wrong three times. I did correct him, and he finally said it correctly, but he wrote what he thought I should be prescribed anyway. When I caught the mistake and tried to correct it, he was on vacation the next day. It took almost a week of me calling them to correct the mistake (I will say though that both of the nurses I dealt with to fix it were great). TLDR: his incompetence left me for a week without a pill I take daily.

This doctor is a joke.took 20 min to flip through a picture book to dx my son.he didnt even fully understand the dx.he refused to give my child further care through a specialist, did not listen to my concerns and had bad bed side manner. Urgh! Awful awful awful!

Aloha! Dr. Andrl is a great doctor which I highly recommend who was the very FIRST M.D. to actually listen to my concerns. After five falls in Hawaii I must say I was resigned to just "Grinning & Bearing it" the back pain but meeting him a few days back he recommended Physical Therapy!! I am so THRILLED so HAPPY to have the LUXURY on the Big Island of HI to meet this fine doctor. After moving to Kailua Kona over six years ago I couldn't get an appt. to see him back then but now I did. Mahalo
