I have seen Dr. Serban since a failed spinal fusion in 2013. He is the best doctor I have ever had. He is caring, kind and compassionate. Recommend him unequivocally. Mount Sinai can be difficult to get through to; however, that’s not within his control but the administration’s. Be patient. He’s worth it.
Did you ever have a doctor you wanted to hug? His bedside manor is unsurpassed. His treatment of my friend ( who sadly could not write this review but would want me too) was kind, gentle and professional in the medical decisions to control her cancer pain. I am happy to know that her pain level was so contained by his treatment but without turning her into a zombie, providing her a quality of life at the end that is important to both the patient and the family.
I am very pleased with my decision to go to Dr. Serban MD after many years with another doctor and hospital. He understands my very difficult and complex case and has been very conscientious in working with me to find pain management alternatives away from oral medications.

He prescribes too much opiate and does not listen to patients' complains well. For example, my mother went to him to get her knee treated and he was focusing on her Neck pain. He seems charming but truly not a good doctor. I was very disappointed

Smart and caring. Has been a wonderful help thru a very difficult journey with multiple surgeries and the need for pain management. Highly recommend
