He did not care about patient, poor skill and determination which causes the loss. Relative was passed under his care at Garfield Medical Center.

Bad experienced with Stanley Lau. No patient care

I was referred to Dr. Lau who quickly saw me and helped me diagnose an issue I was having. In the past year I've had numerous appointments with Dr. Lau along with a couple of procedures. He always takes the time to ask and listen to how I'm doing. I highly recommend him.

Dr Stanley Lau has been parents cardiologist for many years. Dr Lau is a great doctor, he’s detail oriented in treating his patients and treats them with care and consideration. My dad had a heart attack while traveling in Hong Kong, Dr. Lau followed his case even from abroad and took time out of his busy schedule to have many phone consultations with the doctor in Hong Kong to determine the best course of treatment. We are extremely grateful for his care and attention to my parents medical treatment. Whenever my dad struggled with retaining fluid due to a weak heart, Dr Lau saw my dad every few days to monitor his progress and adjusted his medication until he saw better results and my dad was feeling better. I believe that due to Dr Lau carefully treating my dad, he was able to survive many critical moments even with his severe heart condition. We couldn’t have asked for a better doctor who is able to provide his patients with the best care but also always kind and thoughtful.

MY FATHER DIED UNDER HIS ROUTINE CHECKUP!!! This doctor is irresponsible and lack of professionalism. On Jan 14, 2015, my father had a cardiac arrest and passed away unexpectedly from complications following a routine cardiac catheterization procedure in Garfield Hospital in Alhambra, CA. under the care of this doctor. This doctor only briefly explained to my family after the incident happened in the hospital. Then, neither he nor his office staff had contacted us to arrange a meeting to fully explain about what and how this tragic incident happened that will lead to the death of my father who is a healthy man without any record of cardiac related issues. My father did not even need to take any cardiac medication. We just did not understand why the doctor ordered this procedure in the first place. My Dad was 71 years old when he passed away. He had adequate health insurance benefits from both the State Federal government. We suspected that this was the reason why this procedure is ordered. Worst cardiologist ever. He convinced my dad to implant a pacemaker. Told him and myself that it was a very simple procedure, low risk, performed so many times before, should be an hour surgery time, quick recovery. On surgery day, Stanley Lau said nothing to worry about in the morning one more time before wheeling my dad to the surgery room. I waited outside the surgery for the longest 7 hours in my life. Stanley Lau came out and said there was complication without explaining why. When I asked more, he won't give me the full story. Turned out that he punched through my dad's lung during the implant and causing one side of the lung collapsed. What a mess he did. He thought he could get away with excuses. I had to confront him in order to get the whole story. Yet he still not apologizing nor showing any regret for what he had done. Caused my dad a month in ICU and a long recovery time. I won't recommend any one to this so-call 'cardiologist'. Irresponsible and untrustworthy. Don’t risk your love one and your live with Stanley Lau. Worst cardiologist ever. My family and I are so thankful for the care and expertise Dr. Stanley Lau was able to provide for my dad. My dad has been under his care for over 8 years and his professionalism and extra attentiveness to my father’s well being is grately appreciated. I would definitely continue to recommend family and friends to see Dr. Stanley Lau.

Dr Lau is a caring and amazing cardiologist! He is the type of doctor who would go extra mile for his patients. He has a genuine and kind heart. His office is always packed and the wait is long, but it is worth the wait because he will spent the extra time for his patients. Highly recommended!

Dr Lau is my most respectful, famous but down to earth doctor, who is our hero in our family who save my critical condition mom's life in ICU. His skills, knowledge, humane, empathetic ..... encouragement turn my 84 year old mom.. life around. didn't know how to appreciate him from his miracle hand.. 1) Big waiting room. Hey like to overbook appointments. Be prepared to leave 2 hours after your scheduled appointment. 2) Doctor will take calls during your consultation. 3) If there is no cure for your condition, he will show no compassion but will try to convince you he is the best one to go to. 4) After presenting a year’s worth of records and multiple cardiologists’ recommendations, he was adamant my treatment was not the best course but provided no alternative.

He saved my mom

This medical practice is shameful to the medical profession. My first time experience, and will be the last, occurred yesterday October 18, 2016. I walked into a waiting room filled with at least 30 patients. All seats were occupied. On the wall, there was about 24 certificates/diplomas for different physicians. One patient told us," be prepared to wait 4 hours." As I went through the process, I realized that there was only one physician to handle all the patients. And when I met the physician, Dr Chen, after 4 hours of waiting, he couldn't answer my questions. He claimed lack of hospital records and they need a release signed first. My questions were general in nature, yet he never answered one single question. He spent with me less than 5 minutes. As a result, I was never introduced to any therapy, and I was he in another appointment after 30-days. I needed medical attention, especially for my heart failure condition, yet I have never been given any attention by the physician. Therefore, if you have a need for any cardiologist, GO SEE ANOTHER PRACTICE. This is a money driven practice without any regard to patient care. DO NOT WAST YOUR TIME WITH THIS PRACTICE. Appointment system is extremely poor ending up many hours of waiting to be seen by Dr. Lau. Due to busy practice, Dr. Lau did not spend too much time with patients. Not recommended!!!
