Dr. Standiford Helm

I have been seeing Dr. Standiford Helm for many years (don't know why I stuck it out as long as I did). He is the worst Doctor I have ever met. He is smug in his replies and impatient to answer client questions. While he was typing away furiously on a computer and I was trying to have a conversation with him about my treatment, he didn't give me the attention I felt I needed. When he was finished typing I asked him again and he said, "I can't right now, I am busy." I have confronted him twice on his lack of compassion and unethical demeanor as a physician. I wanted to talk to him about getting off the pain meds he had me on for years, he didn’t want any of it!! I finally came to my senses to seek another physician for treatment, which Dr. Helm suggested I do since he couldn't be the Doctor I needed.

I wouldn't touch this place unless u want your SOUL stolen

Elia Perez has made it so difficult for me that I had to change Drs. She violated my hippa rights, and was negligent when asked to take care of my pain. I have reported her to my Insurance and patient advocate. Beware. I have never ever been treated so poorly by anyone let alone a PA. She seems to think she is a Dr and yet she didn’t further her education. My husband is a Dr and would lose patients with that kind of bedside manner. She is just awful. There are other pain management practices that will treat you like a patient. Try them. I hope Elia Perez will have learned some sort of lesson after I’ve reported her. Patient confidentiality is very important. You don’t speak to a patient on a speaker. When asked to be taken off, her reply was “no ones here”! Dr Helm installed a infusion pump and when it caused a MERSA infection the Blood tests showing this was sent on a Wednesday but the Dr could not see me until Friday at his pump install factory . The rep from Metronics was there and he took one look at the big lump with a golden crust and he grabbed his coat and ran out of the building Dr. Helms said 5 times there was nothing wrong and what DID I WANT TO DO. I went to Saddle Back Memorial and spent 8 days in the Hospital and laid in bed at home for 6 months with a hole in my belly the size of a grapefruit with a pump sucking out the infection with a nurse coming over ever other day the check and re rape the special bandaging that was needed my wife had to change the dressing on the hole at the base of my spine ever day. Can we spell kickback boys and girls stay away from this guy he will just send you home to die

This office is GREAT!! They don't overprescribe and follow a comprehensive plan for you to put an end to your pain, sleep problems, etc. They make sure that you are on track with your treatment plan that you set up together. I've been to many pain doctors and this group is easily the VERY BEST YOU WILL FIND!! They are also very caring and want to help you. Try them you'll be very glad you did. They are simply as good as any pain doctors can be. Highly recommended!!! PS: I saw both Dr. Helm and then Dr. Perez three times

Finally a pain doctor who listens. I've seen so many who can't figure it out. His experience makes the difference. I hope he doesn't retire too soon.

I've been coming here for more than 5 years and EVERYONE on staff have been so good to me. Dr. Helm is a great doctor. His bedside manner might not be the greatest but you can trust him to do the right thing for you. :-)

Don’t bother with this office. They don’t call back. They don’t follow up. They can’t be trusted. They really don’t care if you live or die.

i was not sure this was going to work for me making me stop my oral and patch pain meds made me angry because i was afraid of the pain that was destroying my life eventually i was despart for relief or i was goingh to end it all when a pain pump was suggest it was great literly saved my life i can not find words to say thank you ihave a new life and it is wonderful thankyou to everyone from the bottom of my heart

Dr. Helm is always very professional Dr. Helm always listens to my concerns and finds a solution I like the fact that Dr. Helm does not rush to decisions regarding my care Dr. Helm always explains the pros and cons of any procedure he recommends

Dr Helm was an excellent provider. During my visit he had spent a majority of listening to the issues that have and has taken the time to thoroughly explain the treatment he was about to conduct; in terms that I was able to understand. Dr Helm is patient, well mannered, and very easy to speak with. I would recommend more patients to come see him.

Dr helm was the one who pointed out that my lower right back pain was caused by the SI joint.Other people were treating my hern. lumbar disks withe tons of epidurals that seem to be in the wrong area .

i've been coming to dr helm's office for over 10 years following four failed back surgeries. They have treated me kindly and have addressed and treated my pain issues. My pain is controlled well which enables me to continue to work and live my life. Elia, Dr. Helm's Physician Assistant, treats me monthly and has always been kind and takes time to listen to all questions and concerns I have. I would recommend Dr Helm, Elia and all the staff for your pain management needs.

the practice of reducing all opioids to a general level regardless of the needs or circumstances of (me) the patient is harmful. over the time of the reduction, my whole life has deteriorated.

I have struggled with back pain most of my adult life. When i came to see Dr. Helm he offered long lasting solutions other than just medication management. I was diagnosed with Lupus last year and between Elia and Dr. Helm my pain is manageable and I am getting my life back. Dr. Helm's staff is patient, caring, and kind. The office is neat, and I never spend more than 15 minuets waiting for appointment with any doctor i come to see. I would strongly recommend this doctor for people in pain.

I've been seeing Dr. Helm (and his wonderful NP, Elia) for approximately 15 years. 4 years ago I moved from OC to the LA area but I refuse to start over with another group. I really appreciate how hard everyone in this practice works to help me with my pain. Tina at the front desk always has a smile and a kind word when I walk in the door after my long drive from LA and she is always extremely helpful with my insurance issues. If you are in pain come see the helpful providers here!

Attentive punctual

Dr Helm has been treating me for my Nerve Damage & I am young to have this condition & he is just an exceptional doctor. I even trust completely with my 18 year old daughter who suffers from Endometriosis. He has the biggest heart, and he is very patient and kind with his patients. He is one doctor who will be hard to replace should he ever retire! :( He truly is not just my doctor, but a family confidante and resource, with whom I truly respect and admire.
