Dr. Son Vi Nguyen

I had Dr. Nguyen as a doctor 5-6 years ago. He was eager to diagnose me at the first appointment, and did so. I saw him for months and months and heard about him more than he heard about me. He constantly boasted about his vacation home in Houston, which he claimed to visit often. He tried to tell me that "PTSD is not real, if it was, I would have it." Dr. Nguyen is a war veteran. Everyone is affected differently, and as a psychiatrist, he should know this. He has worked in the prison system as a psychiatrist for inmates, and that shows in his way of treatment. He did not treat me with much, if any, respect. I do not recommend this psychiatrist to anyone.

He was great with my son , he spoke to him in a manner my son could understand .bye then made his diagnosis and two weeks in with his meds he prescribed and I've seen such a great change in my child . He's happy and smiling such a great thing to finally see

First, I was told by the female secretary they take BCBS insurance. She said sometimes BCBS won't pay, sometimes they will &, if they haven't, I should call them. I found out later that Mr. Nguyen is out of network. So, I was tricked into thinking BCBS would pay them, even if it took a little bit. Nope. BCBS isn't going to pay them so they expect payment of the out of network charges they'll never get. Here's why: I went two times. worst experience of my life (within the realm of doctors) happened the second time. His wait time is RIDICULOUS. I wait for TWO hours PAST my appointment time and I counted SEVENTEEN people who came in for their appointments & had to be set back. Why? Because Dr. Nguyen doesn't set a limit on his talk time. So, they expect me to wait DURING WORK HOURS, HOURS THAT I COULD BE GETTING PAID FOR BUT AM NOT BECAUSE I'M SITTING IN HIS STUPID WAITING ROOM! He is blunt and honest and true to heart at first I was put off but the longer we talked I saw the heart he has and he truly wants to help u and get to know u and the best meds and stuff to better u I give him 5 stars I look up the guy and recommend but if ur looking for the addicting meds hes a no go he wants the best for ya and I think u will think the same.

My appointment was at 12:00 noon. I arrived at 11:40 AM and turned all completed paperwork into the receptionist by 11:50 AM. I heard the receptionist tell the doctor I had arrived. There was no one in the waiting area and only one other car in the parking lot (which I assume was the recptionists) I needed to be back at work at 2:00 pm.. After waiting in the waiting area until 1:15 I asked the receptionist if I should re-schedule because I don't think that 30 minutes would be enough for an initial evaluation, and I have to be back work my a certain time... She said that the doctor had been at lunch for about an hour and should be back soon. She then called the doctor... I could hear the doctor on the other line say that he was about to pay his ticket and he would be on his way after that. The receptionist hung up and informed me that the doctor would be on his way shortly.... I said that the current appointment obviously wouldn't work because I had to get back to work.... The receptionist told me if I have a schedule to keep this is not the doctor I should see, or if I'm in any kind of hurry this is not the doctor I should see..... He has created a relationship with my siblings. Every visit he ask how life is going, how school is. He is a wonderful doctor

He spends majority of the time talking about himself. We know more about his life than he would ever know about my daughter's the patient. The one time my 15 year old questioned something he had said, he told her if she didn't like what he had to say she could just fire him. He has always been helpful with giving me what I need. He is blunt and honest and if you don't like that then he'll tell you to go somewhere else.
