Dr. Sherri Lynn Blanchard

I was very happy with my first visit with Dr. Blanchard. She listened to and answered all my questions and concerns. She was very friendly and caring. She took the time to explain different concerns and provided possible solutions to any problems presented. I was also impressed with her friendly, helpful staff.

This was my first video call with Dr Blanchard. I am truly impressed and ecstatic to finally find a PCP who is caring and concerned about my health and well being. She listened to how I felt and answered questions regarding issues I have been having. In my opinion, this is what a physician should be. One that has care, concern and the patients well being at hand. Her avid listening and the implementation of a suggested path without judgement, gives me the affirmation that I will be a patient of hers for a very long time.

I left Dr. Blanchard's office believing her to be a great physician. From my perspective, our conversation flowed well, she was attentive, and she was understanding. That is, until I read her notes on my medical records. Let me give a bit of information about myself. I had had an argument with my son the day prior, and I was immersed in a difficult situation with his landlords, as they were in the right and he was trying to avoid a rental payment. I was on their side and because of this, he decided he would have nothing to do with me. This is atop other concerns with my son. Additionally, I have been going through a situation with my energy provider and my building management company, as I am apparently paying for the heating on a unit that is downstairs and across the hall. At this moment, the Public Utilities Commission representative was telling me that my bill would not be credited, and, ...

... who would portray so stark a composite of an individual she is meeting for the first time, who has been open, fully-disclosing, trusting, and honestly, left the office raving about the efficacy of the physician, needs evaluation, reevaluation, or special consideration. I rarely throw a race card on the table, but I have to wonder if race-differences impacted how she viewed me. Again, I will not deny being upset. I was utterly enraged. I explicitly stated to her, that I did not fault her, that I apologize for my attitude and anger, but I had been looking forward to this surgery for over a decade. Imagine, because of my hip, I am developing scoliosis, and I know it is related to this because I was tested for it yearly in elementary school, and never had spinal issues during development. I also did not have it when a chiropractor first recommended hip replacement surgery in 2015 in NY. He x-rayed me. My spine is curving in two different directions, I cannot perform normal functions effectively or with out extreme pain, like running, dancing, having sex, etc. This is a major issue for me that is taking a toll on my psychological well-being, as it impacts my self-perception and confidence as a woman. Imagine having anticipated this correction for months, only to be told, as I stated, amongst other negative or undesirable news, that you cannot have it done because of a condition you never new you had. I did not react well. I did not become, in any way, aggressive toward her. Her portrayal of me in her report, which is now on my medical records, was as though I am a roid-raging, alcoholic, aggressive, threatening, inconsistent, untrustworthy, dishonest, thug. Perhaps that is her perception. Her perception does not make truth. The interesting thing is, I thoroughly enjoyed her; I came home raving about her and how understanding she was. I thought she was a great physician. Apparently, as I said, "perception does not make truth". I would caution most people to avoid this doctor's office. I am taking my disputes further.

Update to my review - the office Blanchard was associated with closed and she was given a certain amount of time to respond to all patient requests. After my initial visit, I lost my insurance, but still needed a prescription refill and I contacted her office multiple times and the nurse sent her several EMAILs; all were open and read, according to the nurse. Blanchard never bothered to call me or mail me a prescription or call in a renewal. Since I was initially so happy with her, I am shocked at how easily she blew off her patients and I change my review to a 1 star.
