Dr. Shawn K Brunk

When you go to a doctor you trust and respect you expect to be listened to. Instead I was scolded and assumed what was wrong and told it was my own fault for being sick. All I ask is to be examined properly and listened to. I was never so hurt or appalled by the way I was treated. On top of that a doctor should never answer a serious medical condition question with, no you're just old. I found out he told a patient, I recommended to him, "of course your sick, you're fat". Dr Brunk I've known you for many many years and referred you many times and all of us deserve better. I hope you find your joy again.

Had a good visit for annual exam. I've been going to this office for 20 + years. Always informative, attentive, kind staff and doctors.

Dr. Brunk will get you in and taken care of. The entire staff is calm and effective and know what they are doing with many years experience. He will discuss your options for care and more. If for some reason he is not available, his nurses are top notch

I have had many doctors in my time. I went to Dr. Brunk's office for the first time and found him to be respectful, intelligent and kind. He also spent a lot of time talking to me about my health challenges and where to go forward from here. Great job by the office staff as well,...they all smile and are genuinely friendly people. A+ experience and thank you for your help Dr. Brunk.

My husband and myself stopped going to him many years ago and couldn't be happier. He misdiagnosed my husbands kidney stone as the flu, the day before he collapsed on his customers sidewalk. As I requested extra Thyroid testing, due to weight gain & other symptoms, he said the office girls liked those frozen weight watchers meals. When I stated since I had high blood pressure the sodium in them was too high, so I asked for dietary & nutrition information, he then chuckked & said I should try moving to Ethiopia and I'd for sure lose weight over there. I stated that's kind of impossible to do right now. I left & never came back. If he didn't take those Nutrition classes while in Medical School, he should have just said he wasn't trained in that field, instead of being rude when I asked for his professional help. Dr Brunk was rude. He stated that if he were my patient he would get up and slap me for not being vaccinated.

Terrible. I have seen him twice. I am in outstanding shape and health. Went there with My Testosterone results which I take from an outside source. He told me that my results were too high. I had a second doctor look at them and said they were within range. He also said that I live a risky lifestyle because I did not choose to get the Covid vaccine. Compared it to driving down the highway at 80mph all the time. He is belittling and condescending. I am switching primary care doctors. If you are looking for a snob who is by all means is better than you....you found your doctor.

I have been a patient of Dr Brunk and Chris Turnbough for 20+ years. They are both excellent! If someone doesn’t like Dr Brunk, my guess is because they didn’t not want to listen to his recommendations to live a healthy lifestyle.! His office staff are helpful and he offers online appointments. Getting an appointment is easy and never a long wait.

Dr. Brunk is awesome - very knowledgeable and caring.

Dr Brunk took the time to sit and chat with me about things which is a lot more than you get most times these days. He was knowledgeable and attentive. The office staff and nurses where nice. I had no unnecessary wait times. Very pleased. I think I just found my new PCP.

If your looking for a good honest medical Dr who offers on point medical advise then Dr Brunk is your guy he doesn't sugar coat so if your sensitive to the facts or truth that's a personal issue , he has made better judgment calls than even some of the specialists I've seen. I've gone to Dr brunk for ten plus years and he has given sound medical advise and care to myself and family he explains the facts and has a game plan for your health which is what a Dr is for if your looking for pampering than thats your decision if your going for sound medical advise i highly recommend. Dr Chris is the best doctor I have ever had. Not only does he come in the room happy, but he also knows who is in there. I have made an appt with him for another day before because he is so easy to talk to about what is going on without feeling like you're being judged. I have had a bad confrontation with another doctor who would not let me talk and I had to just walk out. Been with this group for 15 years. Dr Chris is the best doctor I have ever had. Definitely a quality physician. Took the time to listen and gave me solid instructions on how to better myself. Probably the best experience I've ever had with a doctor.

Dr Brunk's office refused to fill a long-time prescription for 10 mg of Lisinopril (hi-blood pressure med) untill i made an appt, in the middle of a covid pandemic. Why must I be forced to choose between possible catching covid or getting my medication?

The only reason I still go to family medical group is because the nurse practitioner Chris Turnbough is amazing. I don’t like Dr. Brunk, he’s arrogant and condescending. If it weren’t for Chris I’d have gone ride where.

I came in for a wellness check this week and Dr. Brunk was thorough, listened attentively ,explained everything and answered all the questions I had. I was extremely satisfied. Dr. Brunk is definitely a five star physician , who I highly recommend. Irene G.

When my insurance changed we chose Dr Brunk. I have never met a doctor less in tune with patients needs.He doesn't listen to what you say, he state what he thinks is going on. I have hypothryroidism, it's hard to lose weight. When I asked him about maybe changing the hormone, I got a lecture on how the "holocaust victims were not over weight". He told me I didn't know how to count calories or eat smaller portions, on my first visit to him. He actually told us that he won't give any medications to patients until he gets to know them better to see why they want it??? What does that mean? I called his office asking for a blood draw to check my hormone levels and they require coming back in to see him. I will not go back again to listen to someone who thinks they are above me, berate and belittle me. You may have been a good doctor once but you are now arrogant, self absorbed and downright rude. Chris Turnbough is amazing and I HIGHLY recommend him. I've been going to him for almost 18 years now. I have seen Shawn Brunk as well but I don't recommend him. He's pretty rude and I feel like he's always rushing to get me out the door. The office staff is always friendly and helpful.

I have seen Dr Brunk for several years now. I love the fact that when I have an appointment I never feel rushed and all of my concerns are addressed before I leave.

I was scheduled as a new patient today and they refused me. I waited 2.5 weeks for this appointment and it’s very important because I’m almost out of my prescribed daily medication that if I just stop taking can put me in the hospital. The lady at the front desk was extremely rude and smirked as she told me I shouldn’t have been late. The only reason I was coming to this doctor anyways is because my husband WAS a patient of Brunk’s ..no longer.

At first the experience was great, after seeing him for awhile he was no help to me when I really needed him.

The Office staff is extremely Rude and incompetent. I requested a copy of My medical records back in the summer of 2017 I have called them multiple times and have been met with Rudeness and stonewalling each time, and I am still waiting for them as of January of 2018.

Dr. Brunk was very hostile towards me. He actually scared me. He must have been having a bad day but that's no reason to belittle someone trying understand their ailments. He actually raised his voice to me.

Dr. Brunk really listens. He takes a lot of time with me explaining everything and answering all of my questions. He is patient, kind, and knowledgeable.

Moved to the St Charles area from Illinois last year, saw many physicians in the area that I was very unhappy with. Met Dr. Brunk for the first time and never left. Turnbough is great too, both of these men will listen to what you have to say, and in this day and age that is very hard to find. Dr. Brunk now has a personalized care system as well for those that need/want a very one on one connection with their family practitioner. I wouldn't just recommend them, I would tell you they're the best in the area by a landslide. HORRIBLE. I went in b/c I was having some black spotting in my vision. I had recently been sick so I assumed it was a sinus infection pressing on my optic nerve. Dr. Brunk looked me up and down for a whole 10 min then immediately suggested I go get an MRI. Said he was unsure of my diagnosis and just to be safe, after I repeatably told him of the drainage I was still experiencing down my throat. 3 doc app & 1 MRI later...cronic sinutis. Still no script or advice 5 days & 3 phone calls later. UGH!

I would not recommend Dr Brunk to anyone! I'm still furious over my appointment this afternoon! I've had a barking-like cough for 2 days before I had seen him of which was never even addressed. The nurse there seemed more concerned with how I was feeling than my own dr! I try to talk to him of how my Vyvanse meds are not working, and he begins to disagree with my ADHD diagnosis. I paid $60 copay for nothing! I got no prescription written for my ADHD meds or anything for my throat. Unacceptable!!
