Physical medicine and rehabilitation, also referred to as rehabilitation medicine, is the medical specialty concerned with diagnosing, evaluating, and treating patients with physical disabilities. The physiatrist has expertise in the appropriate use of therapeutic exercise, prosthetics (artificial limbs), orthotics and mechanical and electrical devices.

by far and away, dr thompson is one of the best doctors i’ve ever seen. that’s quite a compliment considering that at last count (i’m in my early 50’s) i’ve had over 20 pcp’s & specialists and a bakers dozen surgeries with many more to come. she has a quick wit and depth of knowledge i really appreciate. i see her monthly & every visit, we review my symptoms as if it were my first visit. she pays special attention to structural & pain changes, meds, treatment plan and emotional well-being. i’m very lucky to have found her.

My name is Traci Foster and I have been seeing doctor Thompson for about 2 years now. She is an excellent doctor, she has taken the time to get to know my past history and the pain I have been dealing with for the past 11 years due to an ongoing back injury caused in 2006. She is a caring doctor and I am lucky to have her. Most doctors only spend about 5 mins anymore but, she takes what ever time is needed to answer your questions and makes sure to get all your updated information on each visit.

Dr Thompson is kind and caring, thorough and professional. I travel 50 extra miles to see her even though she has a partner only 7 miles from me...highly recommend her! Now if we could only see these traits in the support staff...
