Dr. Sharon Mary Heartfield Marchand

This clinic and office are terribly run, there were multiple billing errors and inconsistencies regarding obtaining authorization for my insurance so that I was erroneously charged for the ENTIRE COST of my visit, despite them charging me a copay at the time of the visit, having all my insurance information on file, and submitting a claim to my insurance company. Who informed them (and me) that the clinic had failed to obtain a pre-auth and that as part of the contract agreement between this clinic and the insurer, I was NOT RESPONSIBLE for paying the non-covered charges. The clinic continued to send me multiple bills and refused to comply with the insurance agreement. I was also double billed for a portion of cost, as I had paid more at the time of the visit then was reflected on the bill. I have submitted a complaint with the insurer and hope that it will be resolved soon. The clinic also has very limited hours and it is very hard to get someone on the phone or to call you back.

UPDATE!!! Amber from her office called and explained to me the why!! I now understand. The young girl that answered the first time did NOT explain it to me like Amber did!! I will really miss Dr. Marchand and wish her well in her practice. I truly liked her. I wrote the first review with disappointment. Turning 65 is a blessing!! I’ve gone to Dr.Marchand off and on for years she is professional and like a good friend! we just pick up with conversation like it happened yesterday!! It’s nice to have a doctor you know truly cares. And I will add a doctor with a great staff is worth everything and that she has????

She is a great doctor.

My wife has been trying to get into this doctor for several months. There was a several month wait before she could see new patients. Just before her appointment, she received a postcard in the mail saying that she needed to reschedule her appointment. She rescheduled the appointment several weeks out. The day of her appointment, she was told that the appointment was scheduled for March and not February. She was told the Dr. Marchand only sees patients in the afternoons only one day a week. My poor wife has been trying to see a dermatologist for months. It should not be this hard. Dr. Marchand’s scheduling office needs work.

I have been a patient for 14/15 years and I can say hands down she is the best. Will miss seeing her and her staff. All the best Doctor Marchand.

I chose this doctor because she had the best reviews on google in my area. She might be good for finding skin cancer but she is no good for someone with hair loss. I am cash pay so I asked how much the visit would be. They charge 230 just to be seen. I thought it was ok since she is a specialty doctor and I haven’t been to one before. WRONG! When I have up on her and looked in Houston, most offices only charge 125 to be seen. When scheduling my appointment, they never told me you could only be seen for ONE problem. That you couldn’t bring up anything else during your appointment. I would have to schedule another one and pay more money. I found out when I was there filling out the paperwork. That was VERY disappointing. I had planned to go over a couple of problems. When I arrived there was a line out the door to check in. Turns out the front desk guy just wasn’t at his desk. I thought that was ridiculous. As I was waiting in the waiting area I noticed he was still not at his desk for patients after me so they were just waiting. Her nurse was very nice and was a really good listener. I spoke more with her than the doctor. Went through the last 10 years of my hair loss story and things I have tried on my own. When the doctor came she had her phone in her hand. Due to the pandemic her son wasn’t in school. I did not have her full attention. Also, she didn’t really give me a lot of information. Just combed through my hair and asked what I wanted. I told her I’ve heard of finasteride and wanted to try that. She said ok. I feel like I diagnosed myself and she was definitely not worth 230. Her office is just money hungry. She says you have to come in every 3 months to pay for blood work to check the liver on this medication. You DON’T! I love Dr. Marchand professionalisms and knowledge. My 15 year old daughter suffered from a severe case of Acne. She felt she was unattractive that affect her self esteem. Dr. Marchand spoke to her with care and ensured her it would get better in a couple of months if she used the medicine properly. In about two month, the question was what Acne, my daughter face look 100% better and still getting better every day. Today my 14 & 13yr old teenagers visited her office today and she was amazing. Best bedside manner, along with making the kids feel comfortable and secure. The office staff was friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend her to anyone with a skin issue!

Dr. Marchand made my out patient procedure as comfortable as it could have possibly been. Her staff was very accommodating and easy to work with. I think my experience could not have been better anywhere else.

Pleasant staff who responded to a hiccup immediately and professionally. Visit with the doctor was thorough and clear. She took her time with me, asked several questions of me and answered all of my questions. I'm happy I gave them a chance. I would not hesitate recommending them to my family and friends.

I had a mole on my face around a month ago, went to Dr Marchand the next day. She fit me in super fast. Within a week of the meds she gave me, everything bad on my face was gone. Miracle worker, medical genius, I highly recommend her.

Dr Marchand literally saved my skin today. I went to see her urgently because one of my medications was causing a severe rash. She had to take some biopsies and get bloodwork. I know my case set her behind in the schedule but she was patient and thorough.

I have been going to Dr Marchand every month for the past year for what I thought would be a dreadful experience with Accutane ( thanks internet horror stories). Month after month Dr Marchand always took into account how I was doing and and respected that I chose a low dose option as my course of treatment. I really appreciate her willingness to work with me as a patient and listen to whatever concerns came about. Her staff is absolutely amazing and efficient as well. I'm not nearly as terrified of bloodwork thanks to her superstar nurse that always made them quick and painless! Dr. Marchand is caring, thorough, personable, and approachable. She also saved my husband's life. He went in for one thing, she found another, and it turned out to be early stage melanoma. We love her. I wish we could go to her for all our medical needs.

I ask what to use for dry itchy skin and was told a over the counter cream to use. I was allergic to this cream called at 10 am on friday morning the next morning and was waiting to here from this office NO ONE Called I called back at 1:00 Pm only to find out they are closed-- I had to go to a urgent care for treatment. I needed immediate relief for a cyst that had gone wrong on my back. First appointment as a new patient she went ahead and took care of it for me instead of wanting me to come back another time. I was relieved and appreciative. Would suggest her for anyone else’s skin needs.

Dr. Sharon office is nice when they are open. This office is always closed and the medical staff NEVER returns phone calls or takes care of issues. I will take my business else where, her past staff was better at her old office. Another issue was the wait time she takes way to long to get her patients back and discusses way to much of her personal life with patients. If you are looking for a doctor with a soap opera of a life then she is the one to go to.
