Dr. Shanta Mahmudi

My prior PCP retired and I was turned over to Dr. Mahmudi. At first, she was nice and patient but when my ongoing pain issues presented itself, she instantly went to pills for pain and then anti-nauseau pills to offset those symptoms - with no regard to my wanting to find out why I had the pain. Obviously with pain its from a source - but masking it with meds and more meds is not the solution. She saw my prior provider had many different tests and recommendations to determine the cause, but did not go to pills for assistance unless I wanted it. When my pain persisted and caused work issues and going to the ER a couple of more times - I finally called Dr Mahmudi's office looking for guidance and referrals for additional testing to find the issue and no pills, I finally got a referral to a gastroenterologist that I wanted. After a 45 min visit - he decided go into my stomach via a camera and located 2 very large ulcers that were not seen by prior tests and they have now healed.

Thanks for Dr Mahmudi I am now a lung cancer survivor, she gently pushed me to get the yearly lung cancer screenings. She truly cares !! Being a life-time smoker she encouraged & was very helpful in my quest to quit smoking. She understands how important early detection is and generally keeping healthy. I am lucky she is my primary care doctor.

Dr. Mahmudi doesn’t rush you she carefully listens to your complaints and tries very hard to find the problem what ales you she makes you feel comfortable and really cares I trust her

I have been a new patient to Dr. Mahmudi. Last year I started having a couple health issues, which I told her about. She ignored ALL of them and kept focusing on things, which weren't relevant at that time! I started helping myself...with a therapist, compression socks etc. until my health issues got visible and I knew, I have to do something about them. I didn't want to go to her-since she didn't care. I found an ophthalmologist, who diagnosed my issues immediately and listened to my complaints about Dr. Mahmudi. He sent me to a new physician, who confirmed his diagnose! Both, the therapist and the ophthalmologist were quite shocked, how a doctor like Dr. Mahmudi couldn't listen to me. I would have gotten the diagnose much earlier and my health issues would't have become so big!! I am happy with my new doctor and won't ever go back to Dr. Mahmudi.

Charges excessively for tests you don't need. Also schedules "office visits" to READ you results that are clearly just another way for them to charge you.

Her office is rude and incompetent. If you value your children's health DO NOTt use this medical practice. She brushed off a potentially serious condition and refereed us to an equally incompetent specialist. Staff would not schedule a office visit at the request of the surgeon.

When my beloved PCP left I was devastated. I did not think I could fine another like her. Dr. Mahmudi stepped in and i'm so grateful. Its been over a decade now. She is patient, takes all the time you need and is thorough. But what I love the most is her directness about my health. My husband feels the same way. I would recommend her to anyone.
