Dr. Gilmore is amazing! Truly the best doctor I've ever had in Mobile. She is direct, to the point, and will do whatever it takes to get her patients the help they're looking for.

Rude and unprofessional after less than 3 months. Also, has alot of "conspiracy theories" that she pushes on patients... Do not recommend.

What kind of reputable Drs office asks you what you think your copay is than wants you to pay by card over the phone when they can't even see you for a month? Even though it's supposed to be same day appointments?

I’ve never been so belittled as I was by this woman. She laughed in my face several times when I was explaining my medical history at my first appointment. When I shared my diagnosis she acted like she didn’t believe me and went on a tirade because I didn’t bring my test results....from a condition I was diagnosed with as a child. On what I was told was a consult visit, she tried to force me to do a vaginal exam. When I declined she told me she also could decline to write me any prescriptions I needed. Never tried to understand why I didn’t want an invasive exam that day. She seemed insulted at any question I asked. She told me I threw my medicine bottle at her when I handed it to her across the table. She ordered labs and when I asked her which tests she ordered she just said “labs” and walked out of the room. I left the office in tears and cried in my car for longer than I would like to admit. For some reason I let her nurse draw my labs that day even though I quickly determined I was never going back. The office refused to give me a copy of those results unless I scheduled an appointment. I found a new doctor who was flabbergasted they wouldn’t give me my results, promptly requested my records and mailed my results to me. I made the appointment at the recommendation of my PCP, excited to get a clear direction and guidance with my medical care. I’ve never been so poorly treated in my life. Never have lights on in the waiting room or the bathroom. Scale and blood pressure system are very outdated. No where for someone accompanying you to sit during the whole visit. Very unprofessional and condescending tone while she speaks to you about your visit. Told me my only options for painful periods was a pain pill or birth control and there was no “miracle way out”. Violated me as she performed breast and vaginal exam. I thought her methods were normal until I finally spoke to people about it and they informed what was happening was unorthodox, inappropriate, and unacceptable. Will not be going back. I’m so happy I decided to make an appointment with Dr. Shannon Gilmore. I had been to so many other doctors that just dismissed my problems. Dr. Gilmore clearly has experience and knowledge. She didn’t just guess at what my problems were or tell me my “pain was just part of being a woman” as other doctors did. Was referred to Dr. Gilmore by a friend since my OBGYN had retired. She and her staff have been nothing but kind and accommodating. Dr. Gilmore has the best bedside manner and takes the time to listen to her patient's concerns.

Dr.Gilmore was the first doctor that was willing to get to the bottom of my symptoms. As a woman in my early thirties, I had several doctors dismiss my requests for tests due to my age and the fact that I looked fine. After the initial consultation, Dr.Gilmore sent me directly to the lab for a full panel of tests. My labs came back and there were several things going on in my body that needed immediate attention. She called and explained everything to me over the phone since I live a good distance. If you want someone to get to the bottom of your issues and find answers, I’d recommend her. I highly dont reccomend.

She is very rude and unprofessional . will never go to her or recommend anyone to her I used her a year first 2 times she was very nice and caring last time she was rude hateful and walked out shutting the door in my face when I asked her a question.

She started out concerned. I was a special case and you would think she would remember my situation after having to see her every 6 months for the last 2 years. However as time went by she became abrupt, unconcerned, and cold hearted to my concerns. The last straw was when I asked her a question she became flustered due to her negligence of not remembering my situation and threw my prescription on the table and walked out. I waited 30 min while on my lunchbreak for her to come back to find out she never planned on returning she was done with me. I became aggravated told the staff they were unprofessional , slammed the door on my way out. When I called because some new prescription she tried didnt work I was told my care had been terminated.. I dont care for her attitude and she is not professional and if u treat someone rude you have to expect it to come back to ya. I really wanted to see Dr. Gilmore but the receptionist in the front is very unprofessional. Today is February 3, 2020 I made it to my appointment at 2pm and she argued with me that I missed my appointment that it was at 9am when I showed her there's text and email to confirm my appointment she told me that I was lying. Went and spoke with another lady after I had the proof that they sent to me to remind me about my appointment. She went asked the lady in the back and came back to the front saying we'll just see you anyway but it was the time I'd my appointment. She said that she spoke with me and confirmed that my appointment was at 9am which was a lie. I've never known it to be ok to argue with a patient especially someone that's not being rude. She has a very snobbish attitude and looks down on patients. I was so disappointed in the service that I recieved. She told me my copay was $15 I gave her a twenty I thought she gave me five ones but she gave me $15 dollars back and proceeded to call me a thief. Best doctor ever. I absolutely love her and her staff

Her staff is great. She is amazing. She is the first doctor that actually listened to all my issues. She is straight to the poiny, no sugar coating. I respect that. It took me 10 yrs to find a doctor that would help me.

Horrendous physician, despicable nurses. Never in my life have I felt so disrespected and abused. Basically was TOLD that I was either going to get bloodwork done or my Rx For routine medication would not be signed. I did not anticipate bloodwork so I questioned it and she RIPPED the Rx up and stormed out. Her nurse SHOOK HER HEAD at me and also walked out, leaving me in the room for 10mins alone. I began to have a panic attack at this point. When the nurse came back, I asked why I needed bloodwork and she WAVED ME OFF! I asked again and when she didn’t answer me, I began to leave. She grabbed my arm HARD to try and stop me...which is SO out of line. Needless to say, I left, never to return again. I cannot believe how unprofessional and downright hateful this staff is, and I would not even send my worst enemy to this doctor.

Dr Gilmore is an Excellent Dr! I can't say enough good things about her! I drive from Mississippi to see her for care. She is very kind and thorough! I have recommended her to several women I work with.

Went to Dr. Gilmore for 2 years without results, I switched doctors and within 2 appointments he discovered a problem that they ignored. Her office is unprofessional and disorganized. Would never go to her again.

She seemed great at first. I went to her for 3 years. No issue. When I got pregnant and had a condition that made me have morning sickness 24/7 and couldn't even keep water down (hyperemesis gravidarum), she flat out refused to give me anything even when I had been in the hospital 5 times for dehydration and severe weight loss. When I finally was able to transfer out of her care to an actual OBGYN, they sent me a bill for thousands of dollars. Turns out they had not been billing my insurance the entire time. Very Professional and Very caring for her patients.

Dr Gilmore certainly doesn’t sugar coat anything, she is bold and honest and to the point. She has regulated my hormone levels so that I am sleeping, energetic and feels by great. She has also helped me with weightloss. Thanks Dr Gilmore

I have moved away from the Mobile area, but Dr. Gilmore was my doctor and the best I have ever had. She listened, was thorough, and answered every question I ever had with kindness. I only WISH she was in the Birmingham area. The lady who was mad about having her ovaries checked....that is the only way to detect ovarian cancer. There are no symptoms. She is the only gyn. I have ever had to test for that...the secret killer. Look up Gilda Radner.

i have used Dr Gilmore as my primary physician for nearly 10 years. i have never been anything but satisfied with both her and her office. i am writing this review because i read the nasty things a person said on this service. people need to realize that she is a very good doctor, and always places her patient above herself. she does "tell it like it is". she is a very good doctor with a high standard both as a professional, and as a person. i trust her more than any other.

It took my daughter and 2 friends to go to before I made the decision to go. It was the best decision I ever made.

Great Doctor wonderful staff. Dr. Gilmore listens to her patients and their needs. Very easy to speak with and she is willing to work with you.

I have seen Dr. Gilmore since 2006. She is thorough, professional and compassionate. She has always referred excellent specialist over the years.

Used Dr. GILMORE once and found her to be very rude and condescending. She has degraded one of my adult daughters and her two adult daughters. She misdiagnoses and treats you then forgets she did it. Today was the final straw. She was very rude and hurtful to my adult granddaughter, even called her fat. Never again! This poor excuse for a doctor has lost 4 patients plus any others I can turn off her.

She's terrible. From a three-hour wait to childish and unprofessional behavior, Dr. Gilmore's standard of care is disappointing and disgusting. I have never been treated so poorly by anyone in the healthcare profession, or anywhere for that matter. She argued with me, told me if I was going to complain then she couldn't help me, said that she told me my results "over and over" although she only told me once, and when I stood up for myself she stormed out of the exam room. Doctors are supposed to care and discuss our concerns, not get mad because we do our own homework because so many docs don't do theirs. It's also very important to note that when I had her office fax my blood test results to me, I was told that they're supposed to get a signed release from me but "just keep it on the down low." All I told her was my name and fax number, she didn't even ask my date of birth to confirm my identity. Sounds like a big hippa violation to me. There are better doctors out there that will treat you and your private health information better than Dr. Gilmore and her staff. She's terrible. I had been a patient for 18 years until 2 months ago. Dr. Gilmore treated me with contempt and made me feel like a all of my problems were in my head. I sought a second opinion and was finally treated with respect. I finally received the treatment that I needed, and it will be a cold day in you know where before I ever set foot in Dr. Gilmore's office again. Don't waste your time on someone who will treat you badly and quite possibly misdiagnose you as she did me.

I do not recommend Gilmore. All she cares about is money and HER time. Horrible bedside manners and staff is equally bad. Not good with documentation and followup. If you have questions about results, she will not speak to you unless you make an appointment ($). Does not listen and will perform surgical procedures for the wrong reasons($). If you want a personal doctor that cares about you, she is not the one. Get a second opinion before any procedure. Constantly follow up/check behind her.

I have 3 children, and of all the physicians I have come in contact with in my life, Dr. Gilmore has to be the most unprofessional physician with the worst bedside manner, poorest decision making skills, poorest attitude, and overall worst experience with a doctor ever! I first visited Dr. Gilmore when I was diagnosed with fibroid,s in my uterus. It was then she recommended removing through surgery. She performed the surgery and was so great to me before and after surgery. She gave me the best care I have ever received from a doctor. She made sure I was comfortable and doing the things I needed to do to get better. After that she has been my doctor going on ten years. She is kind and always concerned about how I am feeling. She lays out my options for medication or procedures when I need it. I have recommended her to many people from which most have ended up her patients. I can honestly say she is committed to her patients and to giving the best health care possible. She continues to learn and educate herself on new technology to better serve her patients. Dr. Gilmore was able to diagnose and manage a condition that had become debilitating in my life. I am a new person thanks to her expertise in women's health. I would highly recommend her to anyone, especially those with complex symptoms. Her intelligence and diligence combined with kindness and sincerity set her apart from others in her field. Her appointments fill quickly so call today!

I HAVE recommended her to friends. My initial visit with her, she sat at a table with me and listened to ALL my health issues.. She made me feel comfortable talking about my post hysterectomy woes as a 50 yr old. She advised me with professionalism. She listens to me and is done when I am fished telling her what's going on.

Don't have this woman perform surgery because she will end up doing a completely different surgery than what she suppose to. I don't know how she sleeps at night. One of these days, this will come to hunt her.

I saw multiple Doctors and she is the only one that listened, understood and started doing tests to figure out what was wrong, I feel blessed to have her as my Doctor.

We will never go back to Dr. Gilmore, and we will never recommend her to others. We chose Dr. Gilmore as a fertility specialist, because several of my friends have her as an OBGYN and love her. We live in Biloxi and were willing to drive an hour to see her. The first visit was okay. There were a couple of times when she spoke to us that it seemed condescending, but we just blew it off as her being "quirky". As long as she was willing to help us have a baby, we though we could handle her idiosyncrasies. We were wrong. With every office visit, her arrogance got worse. She was really patronizing. There were instances when I was tempted to stand up and walk out of her office in the middle of her sentence. We could not ask her a question about anything without her acting like we were questioning her judgement (which we were not). When the person trying to conceive has a congenital heart condition, it is imperative to ask questions. After the second IUI, Dr. Gilmore wrote a prescription out and said "I want you to start taking this tonight." She didn't say what it was or why she prescribed it this time and not the last. When asked "What is this for? Will it have any side effects we need to be aware of in relation to her heart condition?" Dr. Gilmore looked at us as if we were stupid and said "It's just the second medication I want her to take." And still we continued with her. When a doctor holds all of your hopes and dreams in their hands, it's hard to walk away and start over somewhere else. After every office visit, we would walk out of her office, sick to our stomachs for allowing her to talk to us the way she did. The final straw was after the last unsuccessful IUI. We were not upset about the negative result. We knew we would have to try many times before we were successful. We had planned on that. Unfortunately for Dr. Gilmore, we are insatiable readers. If you will not tell us about the treatment plan or medications we are using, we will research it ourselves. That just leads to more reading on the subject. A LOT OF READING! So, after the last unsuccessful IUI, we asked "What do you think about back to back IUIs? We have been reading about that." She took her glasses off and looked at us and said "I'm going to stick to more than 25 years of experience and not change what i am doing based on something you READ! I think i have read more than you." I could not believe her tone of voice, and i finally couldn't stand it any longer. I said "Did we somehow offend you by asking that?". She said angrily "Your chances of getting pregnant are 25-30 percent, that means when you come in here there is a 70 percent chance you are going to be disappointed. I have been doing this a long time, but if you want to go somewhere else, I will gladly send your records to them." And with that she turned and stormed out of the room. Needless to say, we FINALLY went somewhere else. We went to Audubon Fertility in New Orleans, and it has been Heaven! It's a longer drive, but very well worth every mile of the drive. I liked Dr. Gilmore just fine when I went to appointment for checkup. Was pleased to find that they do a bone density test in her office, so had that done while there. Then after not hearing results for at least 3 weeks, I called her office. They refused to send me the results, saying I could just stop by the office and pick it up. I live across the bay from the office, at least 1 hr drive each way. I requested they mail it to me, which other doctors have done in the past if requested. They refused!!!
