The staff does not properly follow through with schedules and referral for outside tests. I have had to call and follow up with each and every visit to get updates.

I travelled from Jamaica and was referred to Dr. Mangrum in September by another doctor to provide advise regarding pains in my hip which I had been experiencing for over 18 months. My overall quality of life and mobility were severely impacted in a negative way. Dr. Mangrum took his time to carefully review my medical records and requested additional x-rays to inform his decision. He used all my available records to ask questions during the consultation. I was made to feel comfortable upon arrival at Axion Spine by the front office staff. Dr. Mangrum made me feel even more comfortable during the process and was very attentive. He made me feel as if I was his only patient and he was doing everything in his power to help me resume a normal life. I would strongly recommend Dr. Mangrum and his support team at Axion Spine. He was very thorough, patient, understanding, knowledgeable, thoughtful and took his time during the consultation. I trust him and was very happy and pleased to have been referred to him. Appointment scheduling was easy and I got an appointment quickly The office environment was very comfortable and the staff was courteous and friendly My consultation was guide by a doctor who was knowledgeable and attentive and at no time did I feel rushed Dr. Mangrum was very attentive, he asked questions to probe, listened attentively and allow me to ask questions and answered my questions He was meticulous and explained in detail and in very simple language to ensure I understood. I saw Dr. Tran. He was professional and answered all my questions. The follow-up with the office has been fantastic. I had questions and a paperwork request. They were very quick and helpful in their responses. I have yet to know if the recommended procedure will be effective.

I struggled with lower back pain for years even after physical therapy. My pain had reached a point where it was impacting my daily life. The scariest part of my day was bending over to tie my shoes in the morning. After an MRI at Polaris, diagnosis and treatment by Dr Mangrum my back pain to this point has been completely eliminated. Dr Mangrum is great and if you’re having back issues I can only encourage to reach out to Dr Mangrum and don’t wait.

I had a great experience with Dr. Mangrum at Polaris Spine and Neurosurgery. Most importantly, my excruciating back pain was alleviated. Dr Mangrum had an excellent clinical approach. He took his time and answered all of my questions. My office visits were very pleasant. They were prompt, have a beautiful office space. The staff is friendly and professional. I just started seeing Dr. Mangrum after quite a long history with many other providers. Our telemedicine appointments have been efficient and informative. He really listens and acts as a thought partner. It's a dynamic process in which I feel respected and validated.

He is the best.I’ve seen him for almost 3 years and without a doubt he understood and solved many of my neck issues. Along with his help and Aimovig, I’m a new man.

I learned of Dr. Mangrum through my wife who had become one of his patients and was quite pleased with the results of his treatments. When I later experienced shoulder pain then, still later, hip pain, I went to see Dr. Mangrum. Although both conditions ended up requiring surgeries, Dr. Mangrum was able to relieve pain temporarily then refer me to surgeons with whom I was pleased. He is a man of great integrity and competence. I trust him entirely.

Dr Mangrum was generous with his time. The appointment began within 15 minutes of schedule and I was seen promptly. His staff was courteous at all times. The diagnosis was conservative and the follow up thorough.

He sat right next to me on the exam table and explained my MRI results, potentials causes of my pain and numbness. Dr. Mangrum performed Radiofrequency Ablation on my C Spine in October 2016. After 10 years of C Spine neck pain, I made the decision to try the procedure because my neck was in such bad shape, that I almost had no other options. I went to chiropractors, other spine specialists, had epidurals and took way too many pain pills. Dr. Mangrum reviewed my case with the other doctors at Polaris Spine. Since I have arthritis, scoliosis, disk degeneration, cervical stenosis, severe whiplash from 1989, compression, and strain the doctors did not want to operate on my neck as they felt it may weaken my spine. I am so glad that we made the decision to move forward with the nerve burning. I have been pain free in my neck for 10 months. I was in a situation where my life had been altered because of neck pain and discomfort. I was not having any fun or enjoying the people, places or things I was accustomed to like, the outdoors, live music, even going on a walk was an issue. It was the easiest procedure I have ever been through and I would certainly recommend it to anyone with similar neck issues. Also, I had a disk herniation at L5-L6 back in 2006. I was operated on at the same practice by Dr. Tomaras, (formerly Peachtree Neurosurgery). It was another successful surgery at the same practice. I have had no issues since that surgery. Dr. Shane Mangrum is an outstanding doctor, and he and his caring, friendly staff have become to feel like family. He has rid me of neck pain and horrific headaches. Dr. Mangrum sensed a hole in my heart before it was found months later during open heart surgery. After which, his caring staff called from time to time to check on me . . . a sheer act of kindness totally unrelated to neck and headache issues. Polaris Spine is a state-of-the art medical practice and its clinicians are tops in their field. I saw Shane Mangrum, MD, who took charge of my sciatica and provided a very comprehensive evaluation. He is exceptional in clinical knowledge and approach, he is a great listener, and will get to the bottom of your problem. Highly recommend!

Dr. Mangrum is greatly missed in Idaho Falls. When he had his practice here, I felt like I had a true friend who cared about my well being. He listened, offer great advice and sound solutions, was always prompt and professional and always gave great options. His procedures to remedy my back pain were always spot on. Dr. Mangrum listened to my concerns and completed a thorough exam of my neck and shoulder. He discussed my treatment options with me and answered any questions that I had. Dr. Mangurm and his team are an easy recommendation for me to get behind. Polaris is the best mix of kind, caring and professional people and they listened and worked with me to find a non surgery solution that has gotten me back to feeling like myself. I'm incredibly grateful to have found them.
