Dr. Shamim N Nagy

I saw Dr. Nagy a few years ago. She is very bright and competent. That’s as far as I can go with her positive attributes, however. I saw her for two years and was on Wellbutrin. A little known side effect of the drug is that it can dissolve muscle tissue. My primary care physician told me he would contact Dr. Nagy to let her know he had instructed me to discontinue the Wellbutrin. Something must have gotten mixed up because Doctor Nagy said she never received the call. She refused to see me.

I had a horrible experience with this doctor. When I would come in to see her, she spent more time berating me than actually trying to understand my underlying issues. She was the first psychiatrist I had ever been to, so I had no comparison. I left her office in tears and usually whatever she prescribed never helped. I finally moved to a different provider and I noticed a world of difference. I can’t decide if this woman is just so unhappy with the world or if she is just plain mean!

I went through Dr. Nagy when I was suffering from extreme depression after first moving to Vegas. Dr. Nagy is apparently famous for abandoning patients and refusing to see them again even when circumstances arise such as a medical emergency caused by something SHE prescribed. She is quick to pass the buck and slow to help out any patient and cuts them loose to seek another psychiatrist on their own. Not advisable given most mood stabilizers and SSRIs require a tapering off period. Cowardly!
