Dr. Shailesh Malla

The first doctor who checked my BP while lying down and who explained the relationship between BP and heart rate. I’ve been seeing cardiologist for many years and the visits are usually very quick and superficial so I was very impressed with Dr. Mala.

I was referred to see Dr. Malla by my PCP for heart palpitation, jaw pain, calf muscle pain, and legs swelling. Dr. Malla has good bed side manners. He is highly knowledgeable and competent in this field. He was very prompt to order all the blood works and tests I needed that day. His approach is collaborative, engaging the patient in the decision making process and taking the time to explain the evidence properly. He is friendly and supportive. Him and his staffs are very good about returning my call on timely manner. I would highly recommend Dr. Malla to any prospective patients.

He made me feel at easy, he is friendly and nice, but he is in a too much of a hurry. I felt that he is not a good listener. The practice is not well managed. The blood pressure machine was broken. The nurse did not take my oxygen level. I received an email with the results after a month I took an EKG.

I have seen many doctors of all types of practice, but Dr. Malla is easily the best. He is extremely approachable and very easy to talk to. I have never felt so comfortable around a doctor. Most doctors are stiff and robotic, but Dr. Malla is a joy to see. He has never led me wrong, and I value his judgement and advice immensely.

Absolutely horrible experience! Rude medical facility who is inept. I tried to reach the doctor or nurse for nearly 2 weeks after hearing alarming results via voicemail to see a surgeon without knowing my past medical issues. Yet, the facility will not release my medical records wasting my time at the much needed surgeon. I don't appreciate the disrespect of my health and medical negligence. Piedmont Heart Institute and "Dr". Malla need to be reported to the state medical board. Do NOT go here! Plus, you'll be waiting a long time with ZERO actual medical help. After nearly 21 days, I still have no idea what if anything is wrong but advised to see a surgeon asap! Great!

Dr. Malla always takes time to engage in in depth conversation re medical issues. I like that he listens intently before giving an answer to any question I may have, and makes sure I understand his answer. For those seeking a Cardiologist, I highly recommend Dr. Malla without reservation.

I didn't visit because it would take me almost 3 weeks to get in So I tried to cancel my appointment and it was a NIGHTMARE! I called and called and left a message for my appointment to be canceled but they kept calling me and saying that I had an appointment. DO NOT EVER USE PIEDMONT HEART. They don't listen when you want to cancel an appointment and so I suppose they won't listen to me when I actually have a medical problem. Drop dead Piedmont health (you don't care) system.

I have been a patient of Dr. Malla for about 3 years and I have been very impressed. He is a no nonsense doctor who listens to me and then gives me his advice. He has not been wrong even when I was not sure in the beginning. The only lengthy wait I have had is when he had a last minute trip to go to Nepal to take care of his father and he was trying to see as many patients as needed before he left. I trust him enough to put my life in his hands.

Amazing Doctor!

My experience was not good. Dr. Malla was rude, abrupt and quick to make assessments without knowing my full medical history. ( multiple medical challenges) ...advised consideration of a procedure not normally advised for an 79 yr old woman (gastric by pass surgery) and my" health would improve." Had a 2 hr wait in waiting room without explanation for delay until I initiated query at front desk. Will seek other cardiovascular care within Piedmont.

I was impressed at my first visit. My BP has been out of control for over a year. I tried to get him to revise my meds at visit in March. He said he would see me in a year. No changes. I was in pre opfor surgery last week. BP 231/119. Surgery cancelled until BP is controlled. Horrible experience yesterday. He refused to listen and was very rude. I said you don't understand my anxiety. His comment: I know your son died! I said that was years ago. Very unprofessional and unkind!

I've had a known heart condition (LBBB) since about 1970, and I had a Pacemaker installed in 2010. Dr Malla monitors my heart condition and pacemaker operation continuously, and I could not be more pleased with his care!!! Doctor Mallah is a, bottom line Doc. Friendly, and knows his stuff! BUT- if you have a concern, He'll take the time to talk it out with you. I recently was asked about going on a medication, Dr. Mallah LISTENED to my concerns and took a different approach. He was able to pick up on a problem another So Called cardiologist in my town insisted was indigestion! I would have NO QUALMS having a loved one under his care -I think he's Awesome! He probably has saved my life twice so far! He's a keeper
