About Dr. Seth W. Frenzen
Reviews for Dr. Seth W. Frenzen
My experience was not acceptable with this MD. He sprayed some freeze stuff on my wrist before injecting cortisone into an already painful area. I have never had such excruciating pain that burned like that. At one point he stated he couldn't find "it" . Oh I tried to post and this site will not let you if your review is 1 star.
Was kind, professional, thorough.
Saw Dr Frenzen for a 2nd opinion and was pleasantly surprised at his friendly attitude and patience. He carefully explained the procedure he would use to correct the arthritis and pain in my hand/wrist. His positive outlook was reassuring. Now that the surgery is over, I am so happy I made the decision to go with him. His staff also was very friendly and helpful.

Dr Frenzen was an amazing surgeon all around. He was very informative, friendly and helpful and was unbelievably professional throughout the whole process. I felt completely at ease going in for major surgery under his care and the surgery was completed perfectly with no issues. After shattering my collarbone, 7 months later I was doing Crossfit and lifting weights! I highly recommend Dr Frenzen. Dr Frenzen was an amazing surgeon all around. I saw Dr Frenzen for pain in my lower wrist. It was the pisaform bone. I had an accident and injured it so he said he could remove it without causing nerve problems to other fingers. He did the surgery and told my husband it went like clock work, no problems. The truth is he CUT my ULNAR NERVE which caused my fingers to loose their mobility and i had severe muscle atrophy. When i told him about this during the healing time he kept saying it was just caused from swelling on the nerve and denied he could have cut the nerve when I asked. My OT person suspected it was cut and contacted the doctor's office with her concerns but she never heard back and neither did I. After 5 months, my hand was totally weak. Dr. Frenzen said I needed more surgery to decompress a nerve down the center of my hand. WRONG! I got a second opinion. I had a hand specaiist in Boston do nerve grafting to the ulnar nerve, just in time 6 month mark. Boston Dr. knew upon sight that my ulnar nerve was cut and acted.
After my initial surgery with Seth frenzen I had continued pain a year post op and when we discussed some neuropathy that was verified to exist from a nerve test he basically said I could try a cortisone shot but if that didn't help he had nothing else to offer me and that I needed to learn to live with my chronic pain. I found him arrogant and rude and very dismissive of my pain. He's treating me as if I'm seeking pain medication when in reality I didn't even take any of the pain meds I was given after my surgery. I just want resolution to my current pain. I would not recommend anyone to go to see dr. Frenzen. He told me that I shouldn't be in pain still, so that must mean I'm faking it right? I am seeking a second opinion from a more reputable surgeon as I feel that my concerns are not being addressed and I shouldn't have to live with chronic pain that can be resolved with treatment.
I've had two carpal tunnel releases, elbow surgery, trigger finger surgery and the cortisone shot for another trigger finger. My husband had several fingers released. We have always had GREAT care from Dr. Frenzen, who is cheerful, understanding and always pleasant. For my carpal tunnel releases he's even let me watch (it's arthroscopic so you watch on a TV screen) which was very cool. Dr. Seth Frenzen, treated me as if I was an illiterate moron. He snapped at me when I didn't answer his questions the way he wanted them answered and told me I wasn't listening to anything he was saying when I asked questions and explained my injury. Turns out, I have been diagnosed with a life threatening illness that has caused multiple injuries Dr. Frenzen missed completely. I would not recommend Dr. Frenzen to anyone, he is a disgrace. My experience with this doctor was so disappointing that I feel a duty to let others know. He has an excellent academic record...yet in the practical applications department (i.e. treatment) not so good. I had that age-related problem with sub-tissue in my palms creating permanently bent trigger fingers. No anaaesthetic was possible, he explained, then he hit me with a long, painful injection: It had the burning, powerful pain of a hornet sting. This patient has a prior history of two open heart procedures, yet this pain was extended and unforgettable. Then he gave me a pain-relief injection (also painful, but not stratospheric) so that he could bend my little finger backwards to snap the taut tissue in my palm. No pain, but no progress, and eventually the skin tore and blood flowed. I still have the trigger finger, worse actually, plus a hard little node where the skin split. The strangest thing of all is came afterwards: The doctor seemed completely unaware, or uncaring about the pain he had inflicted. There was no apology, just a strange lack of empathy. Definitely not your usual MD. Luckily. My experience with this doctor was so disappointing that I feel a duty to let others know. (I'm enrolled in Medicare, with Aetna supplemental.) I got an appointment in less than two weeks. Was seen right on time. Review of medical history with staff. X-rays. A short time later, Seth explained what he saw on x-rays, examined my knee, then efficiently and clearly outlined my options. Every staff member was warm, professional, and efficient. Dr Frenzen performed carpal tunnel release on both of my hands (2 separate surgeries about 8 weeks apart). My appointments with him were very friendly and I felt he had an excellent "bed-side" manner. He was able to schedule the surgeries very quickly and the actual procedures were very quick. Dr. Seth Frenzen, treated me as if he was superior to me in many ways. He snapped at me when I didn't answer his questions the way he wanted them answered and told me I wasn't listening to anything he was saying when I asked questions and explained my injury. I have had 2 surgeries with Dr. Frenzen over the last 8 months. One was for a badly injured middle finger that became infected. The second procedure was Ulnar Decompression of my left elbow. He came highly recommended and I did my research before seeing him. I was very impressed by Dr. Frenzen's humble personality and expertise as a surgeon. After both procedures I was given pain meds but rarely used them. Dr. Frenzen is a magician with a scalpel and an all around good guy. See him first.
unfortunately, this office has some systems to get in order and it is at the expense of their customers. their communication within their business is lacking, their phone system is not customer friendly as the phone they call you on is not the number you'd call back to so you have to go look for the number. so if you attempt to return the call to cancel or change your appoint they don't get it and then you're the bad guy. When i tried to explain how unprofessional this was, i was told that there is nothing she can do and got snippy. if there was more docs available in the area, i think that this office my have a problem staying afloat! unfortunately, this office has some systems to get in order and it is at the expense of their customers. their communication within their business is lacking, their phone system is not customer friendly as the phone they call you on is not … More
I first saw Dr Lawliss, years later I saw Carol B, then later I saw them both. I don't know what the other rater is talking about, as I've never had a bad experience. My care has always been top notch, and have never found anybody in the office to be "snippy". The staff will admit the phone system leaves something to be desired, but when I call a provider's office, I always use the main number because many, if not most offices these days, have a "back line" come up on caller ID. The reason OAS is still around after all these years, is because of the quality of their care, not in spite of it. Check out Tilley Dr for customer service is that's what's most important to you.
