Sekou Khary Kelsey

Dr. Kelsey is amazing! His support staff, however, is not. I am leaving the practice because of his nurse.

I picked Dr. Kelsey out of an online provider rating site. I have been a patient for 3yrs and can attest to Dr. Kelsey being a competent physician although I only see him for routine annual exams. The issues over and over again are the following and today I resigned as a patient. 1-Astronomical wait times during one visit I was there 2.5hrs and told after waiting all that time he might have to reschedule me as a delivery was to happen anytime. 2-Rude obnoxious medical assistant(I have only had one) every single time. -No eye contact -Rushing -Asking the same questions 3x because the rush causes them not to listen and retain -Jittery and defensive when the pt. voices a concern -Making the pt feel like they talk too much when asked a question “why are you telling me this you’ll have to tell him when he walks in” we’ll...because you asked! -Once in the room you are in forgotten land phone a friend to pass time! -The Officer feels like a baby mill and very little emphasis on patients that are low utilizes and are only there for basic health check up. -Patient advocate knocks on the door looking like a deer in the headlights pretending to care and listen. -Rooms need better cleaning after each patient -Office staff working directly with patients should not be wearing long artificial nails as they put me as a patient at risk for an infection! I told the patient advocate that it was too late my perception of the office was negative and I would not be returning.

I recently had a miscarriage at 7 weeks. I hadn't been in to see Dr. Kelsey yet (since it was still pretty early), but had an appointment scheduled for about 4 weeks later (at 11 weeks). I called the office when I started to miscarry. The woman who answered the phone insisted no doctors in the practice were able to see me until my originally scheduled appointment (almost 4 weeks later), and if I was worried go to the emergency room. She was cold, uncaring and made a terrible experience even worse. I've heard wonderful things about Dr. Kelsey, but dealing with his rude staff isn't worth it to me and I found another doctor.

Dr Kelsey is great but I agree with the other reviews that his Nurse Jerry is one of the rudest medical professionals I have ever dealt with. I will be finding a new provider because of her attitude and condescending behavior.

Dr. Kelsey is one of the best out there no doubt about it, his nurse Jerry however is one of the rudest people I have ever met. She is hard to talk to and talks down to you like she is better then you. She is the only reason I am thinking about finding another Dr. for my daughter!!

Dr. Kelsey is phenomenal! Great bedside manner, will explain anything and everything that you ask, and treats everyone with the utmost respect. I highly recommend Dr Kelsey.
