Dr. Scott Smith has been my specialist for over twenty years and I would recommend him to anyone who needs an Orthopedic doctor. I trust him with my life!

Dr Smith is very personable and approachable, down to earth and straightforward. Knee shot done with no pain and gave me a little extra time at the end. Highly recommended.

Having relocated from California to Texas in May 2020 I needed to find a whole new group of doctors and in 2022 I had a need for seeing an Orthopedic Dr and Dr Smith was recommended by my primary doctor Luis Egelsee. My most recent visit on 3/21/23 I was greeted as usual by a very friendly staff and immediately was in a room and was seen by Jerry Lopez his physician assistant… I view him as Dr Smith’s right hand man and understand he works with Dr Smith on most of his surgeries ( if not all). Jerry is very good at trying to understand to bigger picture and the timelines needed to work towards a successful surgery ( in my case a left knee). I appreciate the time and effort he took to understand this. He gave me a cortisone shot and if things go as we hope a surgery will be planned late September/ early October 2023.

I had a great experience with Texas Orthopedics. Dr. Smith did an excellent job of putting the situation with my knee (possible meniscus tear in an otherwise healthy knee) in context and explaining the standard approach he would recommend and he also explained the pros and cons of non-standard approaches. Turns out surgery was not my best option. He told me how to care for my knee and explained realistic expectations I should have given my situation. I appreciated the honesty and time he took to explain everything to me. I felt very well informed.

My experience with Dr. Smith has been, by far, the best experience I've ever had with a doctor. He explained expectations right off the bat and verified all concerns before surgery. The surgery was so much better than others I've had. The scar for my procedure is half the size of the typical on any Google search! I hope I never have to see him again, but if I have another injury again, I'll definitely see him and his amazing team!!

The difference between military/ VA care compared to Dr Smith is night and day. I would choose him over ANYONE I've seen... I had a minor surgery after a major one with him...and would rather have him perform another one anyday!

I recently saw him for my arthritic knees & to have steroid shots for the pain. He discussed my X-rays & severity of my arthritis. Took the time to explain all my options and when to consider knee replacement. He has also replaced both hips. I have been a patient of his for 10+ years & trust his diagnosis. He never rushes into recommending surgeries & always discusses alternatives considering his patient’s age, health, lifestyle, pain level, etc. He gives you the info, his expertise & allows you to make your decision along with his recommendations. Very knowledgeable & experienced.

Sucked at first, learning that at 50 have to have hip replacement, but after surgery and 6weeks was able to sleep better and get around much easier. I am 3mnths into it and playing golf more often and picked up pickleball. Hopefully be back to normal in a few months.

Not the news I wanted to hear, but suggestions provided about treatment options were encouraging. It was evident that I was dealing with an experienced doctor. I’m comfortable with this practice. Good people.

Wasted my mother's time! Scott Smith LIED. Yep, told a bold face lie. He specifically told her to meet a weight goal for surgery, which she did, only for him to say to double that and come back. He has her file, knows her history, and knows the pain she is in, but I stead he's fixated on the idea that ppl need to be under 150 for surgery! If you don't want to or can't, just say that and stop giving ppl false hope! Stop lying to your patients. Very happy with my recent and first office visit with Dr Scott Smith. The wait to see him was longer than I liked (1-hr) but it was well worth the wait. Dr. Smith was practical and thorough in his diagnosis and patient options. His candor engendered immediate trust. I knew I was speaking with someone both knowledgeable and caring. Dr Smith did an excellent job on my knee replacement. His staff is friendly and knows there jobs. They make you feel at ease.

Staff and doctors are extremely knowledgeable, professional, and friendly. I was in and out of the office in less than 30 minutes. Will definitely come back, but I hope I don't have a need to!

Went and saw this doctor for knee issues after an examination he said I could send you to physical therapy but that cost you money let me show you what you could do at home. Recommend him 100 out of 100.

I went to the office fully expecting to talk to a doctor and then be sent to 6 other places for more test. Not the case. Signed in, received xrays,talked to doctor, received a shot, and left feeling allot better.

This is a great group of Doctors. I have been seeing Dr. Smith and his PA Jerry for years. Great care and easy to make an appointment. Highly recommend this group.

Every Dr. eventually becomes a patient. I was. Dr. Smith evaluated both a shoulder and hip problem. After a patient and thorough exam, Dr Smith accurately diagnosed both problems, and fixed the hip immediately with a cortisone shot into the inflamed area. Immediate results! The shoulder was more problematic, and I was aware of that from an MRI 5 years ago. I declined surgery because of another medical condition then. Dr Smith compassionately explained my options now…and in the future. It all made sense, and interacting with a peer was educational and fun. Dr. Smith was the perfect physician, and one we should all strive to be. He gave me plenty of time and attention. And then we discussed our grandchildren! A great man and a productive visit. They are efficient, treat patients with respect, answer all question to the best of their knowledge. I’ve always felt comfortable with Dr. Smith and his associates, he’s done surgery on me before and it was a success. I trust him to do what is best for me.

Dr Smith has done both of my hip replacements & I have no complaints. Both times he explained alternatives, options as far as materials, etc. & recommendations so I could make an informed decision. Surgery was a last resort. Staff is always very professional, yet friendly & caring.

Firstly, I will say that this is my second time around at Texas Orthopedics after a motorcycle accident in 2016 that resulted in shattering my femur. They provided top notch service and I made a great recovery!! Fast forward 4 years and yet again I find myself bruised and broken following another accident. This time around I happened to have surgery in another city and was not able to make the return trip to Fort Worth. I remembered my fantastic service with Texas Orthopedics and called them up to see if they would be able to help. The staff member who took my call was courteous and attentive. She was able to verify my insurance benefits over the phone to make sure it was accepted and I didn't have to deal with any surprises. I was then matched with an Ortho who could see me for continuation of care. Upon arrival on my appointment date, I was greeted at the door for an initial quick screening and temp check (COVID-19 woes). I then walked up to the counter and was greeted by several friendly, smiling faces. A staff member checked me in and then I took my seat. After about half an hour I was brought back to an exam room and the medical assistant or nurse was very kind to Me and helped me out of my shirt and removed the bandage that was covering the incision site of my clavicle repair. I was then told I needed a couple of x-rays done so we can determine how my healing was going. A gentleman came in shortly after and took me to get my imaging done. He was very patient with Me and mindful of my injuries and did the best He could to make sure I didn't experience any pain. Finally I met with Doctor Smith who was such a down to earth guy! I am grateful that He and his team took Me on as a patient even though I didn't go under the knife on his OR table. He was thorough with my evaluation and explained to Me in more detail what had happened, what to expect, and then was able to show me the x-rays of where the trauma occured. Dr. Smith is a very caring and wide Orthopedic Doctor. Every time I’ve seen him for my left knee he continues to be proactive about my care plan. I previously had surgery on my knee and he’s doing his best to help me avoid the need for surgery again.

My experience with Dr. Smith has been excellent! Five years ago he repaired my shoulder and I've had zero problems since. He answered all my questions kept me informed and was very caring. Recently I had an issue with my bicep. tendon on my opposite arm. Dr. Smith took the time to explain exactly what was going on with my arm and what my options were. Recently I saw Dr. Smith for a chronic should issue. First and foremost, bedside manner was superb, for me that is very important. We discussed my diagnosis and treatment plan; the discussion was easily understood and geared towards ensuring I understood each step - I appreciate Dr. Smith and how he addressed me as a patient.

Both were caring, and very professional addressing all immediate lower leg injury issues, answering questions and providing helpful assessment and easy to understand recommendations for healthier recovery. Dr Smith was so terrific! He went right to the point, diagnosing me right away from my X-ray and touching my hand at exactly the pain point. He was very knowledgeable to say the least. I would keep him as my PCP if he practiced that area!! He not only diagnosed my pain, offered a steroid shot to help the pain, but when I asked, he shared unrelated information which no Dr. has ever done. Really out of the goodness of his heart I think! I cannot recommend him enough. Lucky TX Orthopedic to have him!!

First visit. Recently started experiencing some serious knee pain. Dr. Smith was patient, listened and answered my questions. He gave suggestions that I will follow. Follow up appointment scheduled.

After the investigation, he released me and abandoned me for continued care. The advocate transferred me to another doctor so that i could continue care due to abrupt dismissal of service.

I can’t really say how Dr. Smith was because I only saw his P.A., Jerry, on this visit. Jerry is good - I am a returning patient who hadn’t been in for a couple of years, so I knew I might not see Dr. Smith, but if I didn’t already know this, I would be upset that I never saw the doctor. And I was a little bit surprised that I didn’t actually see the doctor since it’s been awhile, so for that reason I can’t really give a high rating.

Dr Smith was my 2nd opinion on a knee injury after I received horrible care elsewhere. Both Dr Smith & his PA Jerry were good listeners, thorough, didn’t stop with one issue kept looking for a secondary issue when my pain didn’t match a ‘textbook example’ of one thing. In minutes they had the main problem diagnosed, explained with easy treatment options. Dr Smith came in a final time to make sure I agreed with the diagnosis & explain the other issue (arthritis) & options down the road. I am so thankful for the excellent care & kindness they both displayed as well as their detailed approach & ease sharing the information casually— so that it’s not just medical jargon.

Second time I have visited with Dr Smith and he always makes me feel understood as to my needs. He is quick thorough and gives great advice. I am athletic and don’t want to be just told take 10 weeks off come back to see me. Highly recommend him to any athletes needing to be evaluated.

I have never met a more arrogant, callous physician in my life. He does not listen nor hear what his patients are telling him. He is very judgmental and makes incorrect assumptions about his patients. This affects the quality of care delivered and leaves his patients suffering.
