Dr. Scott A Shapiro

Dr. Shapiro is an excellent surgeon. My husband was in severe pain and unable to walk or sleep comfortably. It impacted his every day life. We consulted a well respected surgeon in Fort Wayne who did not even examine my husband. He looked at him and told him he needed to lose weight and do physical therapy. Dr. Shapiro stated therapy nor weight loss would have improved his specific issue. I don't understand the negative reviews as we had an excellent experience with Dr. Shapiro.

Arrogant and very very rude. Run don’t walk. If you’re problem is simple, but if it’s anything you need other opinions. He’s ruined my husbands life !

Had an appointment yesterday for me having increased and consistent left arm pain due to degenerative disc of my C6-C7 which is causing spurs. These spurs are causing compression to my nerves which is the culprit of my constant pain. He spent time explaining my condition to my husband and I. I was very impressed with the staff but mostly Dr. Shapiro. His compassion and understanding what I am and have been going through gives me hope that relief is coming soon from my scheduled surgery.

Rudest surgeon I’ve ever met. My husband is in worse shape than before his surgery. Blew our concerns off. Dismissed us, walked out of room saying he “just has a really bad back, I’m a surgeon not a magician, what he really needs is a spinal transplant. “. Never felt so discounted and uncared for. Would never recommend this man.

In January 2014 I had a spinal fusion. I feel great and can walk with ease. I should have commented back in 2014. I praise God for his care and restoration. I have made many many recommendations to others about him.

My wife is having significant head and neck pain. Dr Shapiro came into the room and pointed to a spine model saying that this is your problem and not the Chiari malformation. He pushed on her neck and asked if it hurt and then extended her next without warning and asked if it hurt. She was in some pain. He said that he would schedule her for injections and walked out as he asked if we had questions. The entire visit was less that 30 seconds. We were caught off guard and had no time to question.
