Dr. Scott Andrew Scharer

Staff is very professional and kind. Dr Scharer is so gentle, excellent bedside manner and really good at what he does. He also comes highly recommended in the Jax Nurses Facebook group.

Had an emergency w. my ears and was in a great deal of pain. The emergency room doctor took one look, refused to treat me because of the extreme swelling, and encouraged me to seek out an ENT to clear up my problem. Dr. Scharer graciously accepted my visit after hours, correctly diagnosed the problem (infection & fungus) and worked on my ears for over an hour. He was extremely adept and gentle, keeping the pain to minimum. I would say it also took a lot of patience to work for such a long time in such a tiny space - while all the time explaining the procedures, how well it was going and encouring me to hang in there. When he finished removing the fungus, I was experiencing only a tiny fraction of the previous horrible pain. It was such a relief! The procedure was repeated twice on two more visits. The meds he prescribed knocked out the remaining condition in a couple of days. I am in total awe of this doctor - he not only worked on me after hours and for such a long time, his kindness, skill and gentleness are without compare. 10 Stars — if there was such an option!

Did not listen to me as I was describing my symptoms. Actually laughed at me for one of my symptoms. All he wanted to do was sell me hearing aids. So a year later, 2 more ENTs and a trip to the emergency room and I'm still having issues. At least my current ENT listens to me. He actually looked in my nose and throat and is trying to solve my issue, not sell me hearing aids. Dr. Sharer, you need to look up Trigeminal Neuralgia and study up on the effects of allergies and the ears. I have both. Did not listen to me as I was describing my symptoms. Today was my first time visiting an ENT. I wasn't sure what to expect but when Dr. Scharer walked into the room, introduced himself and asked why I was there, I immediately felt very relaxed. Dr. S. Scharer is one of best Doctors on the planets. He is extremely knowledgeable, his compassion demonstrated and professional medical ethics are second to none. All Covid19 rules are fully enforced. To include, a great office staff who is fully trained on scheduling you to see Dr. S. Scharer in a timely manner.

I found Dr Scharer through a friend who sits on the Board of Baptist Hospital. My friend told me that he was the best in NW FLORIDA for my malady. He talks to me on a level I can understand and explains what needs to be done then tells me what he is doing before and as he is doing it. He even listened to me. He is definitely a "keeper". He is now one of "my" doctors. I whole hearty recommend him. He solved my problem where as others could not.

Attentive and patient specialist.

I went to my follow up appointment with my regular ENT, Dr. Scott Scharer, today. After having the packing removed and after having every question and concern answered...I am feeling so much better! Ever since my first contact with him when I went through this 2 years ago, I knew he was exactly who I needed. He is a gentle, soft-spoken, caring doctor. Whenever he enters the examining room, I immediately feel calmer and know I can put my trust in him completely. I have been struggling with sinus congestion and horrible facial pain/ for years! Doctor after doctor and trying every medication and nasal spray out there. Clean and the staff is pleasant. Hard to find downtown but they provided clear directions to make it easier to find. I had to reschedule a few times due to my children and they were flexible and never seemed bothered by my chaotic schedule. Dr.Scharer is very well mannered and listens to you. They go over and beyond for their patients.

The office is so professional. The girls that run it are amazing, so considerate and a proper reflection of quality patient care. Dr Scharer has the best bed side manner along with listening to patient needs. Would give more stars if i could!!

I had some worries about seeking out a professional opinion on my allergies and potential decline in hearing. Dr. Scharer has an excellent bedside manor and immediately put me at ease. I was met at the door with a smile and all of my questions were answered or at least discussed with in-depth analysis.

Dr. Scharer actively listened and asked questions to understand my issues. He went over the expectations of the appointment thoroughly. And was detailed with what to expect next.

Dr. Scharer was excellent throughout the whole surgery process. He was friendly and detailed. I could not have asked for a better doctor to fix my nose.

Dr Scharer performed my thyroidectomy and selective neck dissection about a year ago. He is very patient and kind when it comes to explaining everything and answering questions. It is obvious that he really cares about his patients.

Had headaches and some sinus issues. Performed surgery but still dealing with sinus issues and headaches. Prescribed a nasal with allergies and medication that helped with headache. Ayear later I am still dealing with headache and cannot even get office to call me back...... collected money now abandoned me.

Dr. Scharer removed my thyroid in May of 2014. He was very detailed in explaining my options and gave me ample time to make a decision. The care I received in the hospital and during recovery at home was above and beyond. My husband recently needed to see an ENT and without hesitation we scheduled with Dr. Scharer.
