Scott Stewart Russell

I first saw Dr Russell for a physical in June of 2021, it was a very good experience, he listened and staff were pleasant. I returned in Jan of 2023 for a second annual physical with Dr Russell and had a completely different experience. Firstly, the waiting room was busting at the seams with patients. I was taken back to a room by a Nurse Ratchett (no smile, no greeting or acknowledgment of her title and when taking information from me she was curt and obviously didn’t want to be there). I was then seen by Dr Russell, I told him that my OB/GYN had been prescribing my blood pressure medication but that it was only for short term until Dr. Russell could take it over. Dr Russell looked at me (I weight 110lbs) and said I should not have high blood pressure with how thin I am DESPITE that I have significant family history of the condition on both paternal and maternal sides. I requested a 90 day refill of the medication as my pharmacy often has to order it in and he agreed, but he wrote the Rx for the wrong quantity so I ran out of medicine early and had to call his office to fix the Rx. I’m not sure what happened between my first visit and my second visit at this office (I’m assuming based on the waiting room that their patient census is too high to offer quality care) but I won’t be back for a third time.

Great first visit for both my husband and myself. Dr Russel was very patient, kind and answered all our questions. My husband really liked him as did I and he is not “a Dr. Person,” so that says a lot! Glad to have found him.

He listens, asks the right questions, never rushes me. Knowledge and understanding of my preferences always requested. The absolute best.

Dr. Russell spends time with me during my appointments and listens carefully to my concerns. He addresses them and takes me seriously. I really appreciate his professionalism, and have been recommending him to others seeking a primary care doctor.

I would have already died of cancer if I had not sought other medical care. Dr Russell basically told me that because I was 85 there was no real reason to order expensive diagnostic imaging to determine if I had cancer. Dr. Russell doesn’t deserve the title of MD

We have been patients of Dr. Russell for more than a decade. He is warm, takes the time to actually listen, and he’s very knowledgeable. I recommend him to all my friends if they need a fantastic primary care doctor.

I've seen Dr. Russel for over 10 years . I followed him from Olathe Practice to St.Lukes. He is friendly, though, and just over all a top notch person and doctor. I highly recommend Dr. Russel. To address another review on this site, personally I ha e NEVER had an issue getting an appointment within very reasonable time frame. Is it possible that person called the wrong Dr.Scott Russel at St. Luke's because my son was told something similar when he calked, then I found out he called the wrong physician, confusing,as both Primary Care at St. Luke's both Dr. Scott Russel. I'm a former/current patient with zero issues for 10+ years with scheduling appts or anytbing labs, diagnosis etc.. includes both former Olathe office and at new office with St Lukes. Further drive for me but worth it. It never even crossed my mind to see anyone else as my Primary Care doctor. I value Dr. Russels opinion rdgarxless if he ends up referri ng me to aspecialist, I trust his judgment completely -Angela

Dr. Scott has been my primary for almost 15 years. I have seen more than a lot of specialist and Dr Scott is the one that keeps my maintenance program successful. I highly recommend this Doc.

Great dr. Always takes the time to listen and explain

I have been a patient at St Lukes Internal Medicine for over 30 years. My primary doctor just retired and I called to make an appointment with Dr. Russell. I was told that the first time he could see me was June 2020---in a year!! That is how highly this doctor regards current patients of this practice. Absurd! I will not only be looking for a new doctor, but most likely an entirely new practice.

Scott has been my physician for 12 years and is one of the best doctors that I have had. He is thorough and always has time to answer questions.

For over 10 years, I have come to truly be grateful for the thorough, insightful, and kind care of Dr. Russell as my primary physician. I am not a simple patient to treat, nor are the numerous & conflicting conditions I live with. Yet Dr. Russell has never failed to provide the finest care I have ever received in my 62 years. If I lived 500 miles away, I would still travel to get my care and treatment with Dr. Russell. Having 8 years experience working in hospitals, I may know why he's tops.

Dr. Russell is an excellent primary care doctor. He patiently takes as much time as necessary at each appointment to resolve any medical problems that I have, and is efficient at referring to specialists as necessary. Excellent bedside manner, always professional and respectful and friendly.

Dr. Russell will not help you when you need a simple refill. I moved out of state and I am still looking for a doctor. it was a simple 30 day refill request. And Dr. Russell prefers to not help his long time patients. Very sad.

Great doctor been going there for years

I ended up having some medical issues arise last year and was assigned Dr. Russell by Olathe medical center and I have to say that he is got to be the best doctor I could've ever asked for, I truly feel that he has saved my life. Words could never really express the gratitude I have for this man but if you're looking for a good doctor in Olathe that's really going to show you care to take his time and give you attention and concern definitely reach out to Dr Scott Russell I would recommend him every day of the week and twice on Sunday I ended up having some medical issues arise last year and was assigned Dr. Russell by Olathe medical center and I have to say that he is got to be the best doctor I could've ever asked for, I truly feel that he has saved my life. Excellent doctor who takes the time to listen to your concerns and issues. Dr. Russell explains things so you understand how you are being treated. He truly puts you first and acts like you are the most important patient of the day. He is certainly very friendly and puts you at ease.

I've been seeing Dr. Russell since 2007. He always takes all the time you need, he listens, and is ultra respectful. Highly highly recommend him.

Staff is always helpful in getting you into see the Dr. as soon a possible. Nurses' are very friendly and knowledgeable. Dr. Russell never rushes you and takes all the time needed to listen to your concerns.

Went to see Dr. Russell yesterday for the first time. I didn't think they made doctors like that any more. He spent a good deal of time getting to know me and I could tell he was really listening. I was recommended by a patient that he hadn't seen in several years, but he still remembered the patient and everything about him. I get the feeling that he really wants to take care of patients the way they want to be taken care of. So glad I met him He is now my primary care provider.
