Dr. Scott Gm King

It took a few years to do a review. Though I was ready for both hips to be replaced, only 1 was done correctly. The other was cut approx. 1/2 inch shorter & the hip rotator cracked off. After several calls w/his pa & 2 visits w/him, I gave up & started looking for help on my own. I gimped, which threw my back out. Once the MRI, another xray, & a visit w/a hip & back surgeon were completed, the above was confirmed. After wearing a lift in my shoe on the rt side, it solved the gimp. Unfortunately, it was not a success and he was referred. I'm now finding many have had the same issues w/him. I only do this to let others know what could happen.

Apparently UPMC has the same problem every other employer has of late. Scraping the bottom of the barrel.

Dr. King replaced my right hip. He was totally professional in his surgical skill, straight forward in answering my questions and concerns, and very reassuring in the success of my procedure. I appreciated his no nonsense approach to my surgery.

I had a botched knee replacement done by a surgeon with WellSpan! Suffered with pain for 8 months! Dr. King had to redo it and my recovery went remarkably well when it was done right! He is great!

Dr King. Hands down is the best surgeon I have ever had. He was professional and knew what he was talking about. I had gone to the Ortho place and had rotator cuff surgery and less than a year later had to have it again, this time by Dr King. He did an amazing job! I no longer have pain. I can't say enough good things about Dr. King. I came to him for a second opinion on an issue I was having with my hip. I was told by another surgeon that THR was my only option. I sought Dr. King's opinion at the suggestion of a friend who is a colleague of his, and I couldn't be happier. We tried conservative measures first and when they failed, I did have to have surgery, March of 2021, but thankfully not something as drastic as a THR. It has been 5 months since surgery and I can honestly say I am almost back 100% to my extremely active self, kickboxing, motorcycle riding, and coaching youth sports. I have had many follow up appointments with Dr. King after surgery and being in the medical field myself I am not the best patient, I want instant gratification, and I think he could tell, but he was always very patient with me, listened to my concerns and reassured me that I would be back to my normal life, I just had to give myself time to heal, and not rush the process. I am so glad I chose Dr. King to perform my surgery, his compassion and thoroughness are like no other. Hopefully I don't need him for any other surgeries, but if so I would choose him again without question. I could have chosen another practice, with less out of pocket expense to me, but he came highly recommended, and peace of mind was what was the most important to me. Replaced both my hips. Most skilled orthopedic surgeon in the area. Reserved person, but fabulous surgeon.

My left leg was bowed badly. I looked like the letter D. I was referred to Dr. King by my PT. His father had his knee replaced by Dr. King and responded very well. I went to Dr. King on December 18, 2019. My surgery was scheduled for March 30,2020 but due to a cancellation I was scheduled February 13 and had my left knee replaced just before covid days. Dr King was nothing less than professional! I had a right anterior total hip replacement and the surgery went exceedingly well! He explained the procedure in great detail and answered any questions that I had. Not only did he personally call me 2 weeks prior to my surgery to discuss details, he went so far as to give me his personal cell number to call him directly if I had any post OP issues!!! I had a great experience with Dr. King - had left hip replacement on May 4th, 2021 & now 4 weeks later, I’m walking with some help of a cane. Never had terrible pain & couldn’t believe he gave me his cell phone # in case I had a question after the surgery!

Dr King is very good at what he does. He explained what was wrong with me, how he would fix it and what the outcome would be. He was absolutely correct and did an excellent job!

Had a total right hip replacement and Dr King did it using the anterior approach! Very professional and very knowledgeable! In this day and age what doctor gives you their personal cell phone number to call after surgery if you come across any problems!!! Totally unheard of but that's what Dr King does because he cares and I'm so excited that I found him! I would highly recommend him to anybody!

He was VERY rude, condescending and unprofessional!!

Agree, he is rude and doesn’t want to answer questions. He’s also brutal with knee ops - long scars ( large cut) and much bruising afterwards. I’ve seen really nice post op knees, not mine! He didn’t bother to tell me to come back for the year post op follow up. He acts like he doesn’t want to tell you anything, like he’s covering up for something. A year and a half later with extra PT, my knee is still stiff and it’s angled in a slight bow-leggedness. My other real knee is straight. The physical therapist was the one who told me why I had pain: the joint is either shorter or longer than my original knee and the illiotibial band had to readjust. He never told me that after repeated questioning from me. I’ll never go back to him. Got another Doc at OSS to do my other knee. Agree, he is rude and doesn’t want to answer questions. I BROKE MY FEMOR ABOVE THE KNEE IN 2019 .OMG WHAT A GREAT SURGEON. I WAS SO SCARED. DR. KING EXPLAIN EVERYTHING TO ME. HE HAD SO MUCH COMPASSION. HE REALLY CARES ABOUT HIS PATIENTS. Is rather brutal with knee ops - black and blue and long scars, swollen/traumatized more so than other fresh knee replacements I’ve seen. Does not like to answer questions, hard to get any info from him, Acts like you know nothing. Doesn’t follow up.

He's highly skilled and very personable. He always ask what questions do you have for me? I like his compassion especially

Dr King replaced my knee and hip. Both surgeries were successful. Today I am walking pain free.

Total hip replacement (anterior). Excellent surgeon. I was in the hospital less than 24 hours. Minimal pain throughout the whole process. By Day 14 - no walker, no cane and no pain! I would highy recommend Dr. King. I would also highly recommend the Arlington Orthopedics Group - very efficient!

Dr King performed 2 surgeries on me in 2008 and 2009. He did a partial knee replacement and a shoulder repair. The outcome has been terrific and I would highly recommend this skilled surgeon. I was also pleased to discover that he has joined the OSS family. His efforts allowed me to continue my career as a technician at Verizon so I could reach my 40 year goal with the company and retire with full benefits.

Had a complete knee replacement done one month ago and every think is working out perfectly. Dr King did a great job and he described to the tee how the replacement would go. He has a great bedside manner and I would highly recommend him to anyone searching for a orthopedic surgeon.

If you need a knee replacement this IS the doctor to go to. He is a great surgeon. He explains things very well and is very compassionate. You can tell he really cares about his patients.

I had a L Total knee replaced with Dr. King. It's been over a year now and I have not one complaint about the entire process. Dr King is very knowledgeable, thorough & explains everything in a simple manner. He also has a great bedside manner, and is very caring. While I was in surgery waiting he even introduced me to another specialist who he felt I needed. That Dr. Is now my Dr.
