Dr. Scott Newton Hurlbert

I had the opportunity to have been referred to Dr. Hulbert for a medical issue. He was courteous, and explained my issue in a matter that I could understand. I look forward to my follow up with him in the future.

Lump in my neck for about 2 months, referred to General and Vascular Surgery at UC Health Memorial Hospital. The front desk was very friendly, but I would not recommend Dr. Hurlbert. His examination consisted of asking if I had a cold or a sore throat, which I replied no. I said I had already been tested for infection and it was negative. Touched my neck, said “there it is”, “it is a swollen lymph node” “I’m not worried about it”. He stood up, my signal I guess that he was done.

My husband has a severe case of varicose veins. Normal veins are around 3mm, his are 12mm. He went to Dr. Hurlbert's office and was denied through the insurance company. The doctor or the office didn't fight the insurance company at all and said to deal with it. Went to Albert Vein and they got it approved through insurance with no problem and said the veins are in the most severe level. They do not care about patients at all. Just tell you to use compression garments for at least a year.
