Always prompt and excellent care. Staff is friendly and professional. I’ve had 5 treatments over two years and happy with all services and staff interactions.

Dr. H is the best - he is patient and wants to ensure you understand the options of the various procedures. He has a wonderful demeanor towards his patients - he cares and it shows. His staff is excellent, Meredith is amazing every time I see her, along with everyone who greets you. I even had my dad see Dr. H, as a back up for when he is visiting me and should he need to see a doctor due to his chronic pain issues, he too was extremely happy with the care he received and the guidance was in line with his main doctor from where he lives. Dr. H reviewed his entire file, which was key to understanding all the issues and finding a way to help my dad should he need to come in, along with working in conjunction with his primary pain doctor down South. It's absurd to me that there are not 5 stars across the board here. I've never been to a practice where every single person there seems to care about you and your well being. When I see people complaining about costs or insurance or anything like that, well, that's the healthcare system. These guys have consultations and follow up visits because they are professionals who want to make sure you are doing well. If you aren't, then they are trying to find the next solution. I have been a patient of Dr H for years now, and I must say that his work, His staff.. They have changed my life. From years of chronic pain to a doctor who listens. I have been to pill pushers and he is not. I have been to doctors trying to pump money out of me and this office does not. He's incredibly ethical. If he can't fix the problem, he will say so. If he can only improve the problem, he will say so. He doesn't always have the answer you want to hear, but his integrity, empathy, and professionalism is unlike any other I've seen. I was injured in the service and I have been all over to doctors all over the country. Dr. H is above and beyond any of the other doctors I have met. Dr. H and his staff took my request to be on as little medication as rarely as possible seriously. He's done exactly what he's meant to: Helped me manage and reduce my pain that others just wanted to throw drugs at. I am not always pain free but my pain is manageable and I don't have to take meds everyday. I do and have recommended him to anyone who needs a doctor to help fix them and not just mask problems. I was very impressed and happy with Dr. Hassassian and the nurse (Tracy? Can't remember her name), however, when I had to cancel an appointment (due to the office not being able to tell me how much a procedure would be), I was charged a $150 cancellation fee as the appointment was within 24 hours. The Office Manager was not willing to work with me on this even though she was unable to give me a cost estimate for the procedure being done. I offered to postpone the visit until she could calculate an estimate but she would not budge from charging $150 and said that it was my fault for not asking the cost when I scheudled the appointment. I am very disappointed and sadened by this response as other than this I was very happy with my experience. I have since cancelled all follow on appointments and urge caution to those doing business with them if finances are of concern.

Can't say enough good things about them. After 2 failed back surgeries, I was referred to National Spine and Pain by the surgeon. They have been very attentive to my needs and have helped me greatly both physically and mentally. I got the 3 spinal tap injections and I could walk pain free for about 8 months. This was first time pain free after trying everything and every doctor in 6 yrs. It was glorious. Dr Sassan Hassassian is a miracle worker in my book. He was very personable yet professional. I never felt rushed and he also prescribed my medication to take before for my anxiety to the procedure. He listens to was his clients are there for. I was never overcharged for tests not received. The front desk staff and his nurses are as l very friendly and very helpful. To one of the finest people I know, who shows a genuine concern for his patients. This DR has been treating multiple health issues of minefor over 5 years. He & his caring compassionate staff are very professional, detail oriented, & attentative to their patients overall health issues. Time spent w/ Dr Hassassian & staff is customized for each patient. Health issues are thoroughly discussed w/each patient.In summary, every facet of your issues are a priority to them! Kudos, accolades!

Would not recommend Sassan Hassassian. Went there for 2 years. Tried everything he suggested. From injections and all types of medications. No help. Dr Sassan Hassassian wanted to put in 2 stimulator boxes. Even went to a shrink per his request. Got several opinion from other doctors on his treatment for me. Including his own doctors at National Spine & Pain. Which they concluded Dr Sassan Hassassian wasn't treated me for my systom's and the stimulator boxes would have never worked. I had my initial consultation at the haymarket office today and was told I needed a particular kind of treatment offered at the Manassas office. The Manassas office calls me fairly quickly and says “we need you to come in before you have treatment to establish patient relationship with this practice. How absurd is it that I have to pay for two consults being both offices are under National Spine & Pain Center? My clinical information was passed on to the office in Manassas where treatment supplies have been ordered to start. I have $65 co-pay for each visit and they want me to have two consults for same diagnosis. This screams the office is trying to make money vs. good quality patient care. I’m truly disappointed with this group and proceed with caution before making your first appointment. Ask a lot of questions prior to your appointment so you’re not facing the same problem. Over three decades ago, a modestly spectacular plane crash as a Marine Corps pilot left me with a “comminuted compression fracture” of L4 among other things. The good part is, in the aftermath I can laugh about it while wiggling my toes, the latter not being a foregone conclusion at the time. Age has taken its toll with pain and management thereof having an ever increasing role in my life. Several years ago I had the extremely good fortune to be referred to Doctor Hassassian. Simply put, he is compassionate competence personified. His approach is conservative yet effective and his ability to “connect the dots,” be they diagnostic, pharmaceutical or whatever, is masterful. I saw this doctor after I was seen by three other specialists who could not help me with my complicated situation. I wanted to go online and let everyone know how terrific my experience was. He is very professional and I think genuinely cared which is not common these days. I am doing a lot better already with his injections.

2 months ago I visited The Spine Care Center to consult with Dr Siddiqui regarding back surgery to remove a cyst on my lower spine. He was fabulous, taking a lot of time to go over my MRI results and to explain the surgery he would perform. I also went to the Center twice prior to surgery to get steroid shots in my spine to relieve me of pain. Dr. Zafar gave me these injections, aided by his very capable staff, and they helped me tremendously while I awaited surgery. All my interactions with the staff at the Center were extremely professional, including the receptionists and schedulers, billing personnel, and medical technicians and doctors. In addition, everyone bent over backwards to make my experience there outstanding in every way. Excellent doctor and staff. I cannot say enough good things about my experience. He listened to me and gave me my options so I can hopefully come off my pain meds. His NP who saw me (I forget her name) was also very professional. His first injection has already made me fee so much better.

Doctor and staff are caring people. They made me feel very welcomed and I believe I will be in good hands with them. Dr. H. Has a wonderful bedside manner and he made me feel encouraged about his determination to help me as his patient. He is a physician that not only hears but listens intently. Do not go to this "physician." He doesn't listen to his patients. He couldn't care less about his patients. He wanted to try treatments that I cannot have done because of my pacemaker. He wanted to prescribe medication that I am severely allergic to. I had to keep telling him that I couldn't try these treatments and medications and finally he said that because I am not willing to try what he wants then there is nothing he can do. He recommended one treatment and one medication. There are plenty of other options but because he doesn't profit from other options then he isn't willing to try them. He is a propietor for certain treatments and medications so those are the only ones he will offer. If you are looking to see a remotely decent physician who listens to you then go somewhere else!! Great Doctor, friendly people

I am a chronic pain patient. I have had to deal with my spine problems for a VERY long time. I finally came and saw this doctor at the recommendation of a local friend. Am I glad to have done that? This doctor listened and cared. He doesn't believe in pushing pain meds so if that's what you are looking for .. then look elsewhere. After a series of injections, I finally ended up with a nerve stimulator in my back. My pain is not gone but it's so much better. I have my life back! Thank you for being there for me. Outstanding professional!

I have been treated by several pain doctors in the past 12 years. Dr. Hassassian is the first physician who listens to me, is caring, has a wonderful bedside manner. His level of knowledge in his field is excellent. I have recommended him to several people who were in need of pain management. He is the only physician who has treated my pain successfully. His office staff is professional and caring, as well. I cannot recommend him more.

I work in an area near his office. I was told to see him after a friend recommended him. I am so GLAD I did! I suffered from excruciating back pain for a long time and needed someone to help me. I had three different back surgeries before. He helped me by placing a nerve simulator in my spine. I sleep better and and can enjoy my life again. Thank you Dr. Hassassian

I can tell that he takes time to learn about upcoming breakthroughs in medicine. He explains things in a way that most physicians cannot! I know I am getting the best care possible. He is a delight!

Did not listen to me. Actually made my pain CONSIDERABLY WORSE. Would not prescribe medication that worked for me. Injected my back and actually made it WORSE. I felt like the dirt beneath the earth and that he did not care. Will never go back again.

Dr Hassassian, is an very well specialized, caring & compassionate doctor. He really cares about the health, welfare, medical condition and always takes the time to listen to his patients unlike other so called doctors I've gone to in the past and communicates with knowledge, skill and awesome professionalism 7 excellent customer service in his office staff as well! I highly recommend this doctor who has also won the Washingtonian award for the Metro/VA Best Lists of Physicians!
