Very good hands on Dr that is welcoming and warm hearted. She builds a connection w her clients and is very professional and respectful. So glad I was referred to her. Also, front desk people are always so kind and attentive.

Dr. Hemkumar is an excellent doctor. She is thorough, direct, and compassionate without being alarmist. Sometimes the wait times can get a little nuts. However, she always returns calls and, if I've ever had concerns, brought me in to be seen right away. Her office staff are quite young and inexperienced, so customer service leaves a bit to be desired at times. Other than that, this is a wonderful practice I would recommend to anyone! This Dr. is all about getting the bills paid rather than the patient. I was turned down because I had a balance and paid $100 that day towards the account. I drove all the way, got a sitter only to be turned away. I have been going to her for 7 years now and couldn’t believe they don’t take payment plans. I’m going through hardships but none of that was taken into consideration. The front desk girls are incompetent and told me I could make payments and still be seen. Dr. Hemkumar delivered all 3 of my babies in 2012 , 2014 , and 2016 she is the best and I would never want another doctor she does such a great job

Dr. Hemkumar is incredible. I started seeing her when I was 36 weeks pregnant. Not only has she taken great care of my health, but also, she is lovely to speak with at every appointment. She explained everything to me in a very clear manner that helped me make a great choice for myself and my baby. I am now a healthy mom with a healthy adorable baby. It’s rare to find a doctor that combines such personal touches and care for a patient as a person with outstanding quality of medical care. I highly recommend becoming her patient! Dr. Hemkumar has been my Gynecologist for 15 yrs. and also delivered my 2nd child. She provides exceptional speciality care, but has become a confidant and a true Health Advisor! I mostly appreciate her authenticity and bedside manner. She has never pushed an agenda, procedure or medication on me - ever! You will not find a better doctor who will empower you to participate in the decision making of your healthcare. Dr. Hemkumar is not only knowledgeable and patient to answer questions, but also decisive and clear, which is really important for us patients. I often find it frustrating when a doctor leaves the decision open-ended on the patient's hands (because of liability issues?). Dr. Hemkumar takes charge when needed and gives clear advice. Dr.Hemkumar was everything I could want in a provider. She was kind, asked for consent and knowledgeable. I traveled from buda to see her and will book her for all my future appointments. She was amazing.

You can thoroughly trust the doctor. She’s genius and excellent in what she does. We had our baby delivered recently and both mom and the baby are doing well.

So it was 4 years ago that my daughter had her as her doctor. And while we never had any problems with Dr. Hemkumar we did have issues with the doctor that was on call for her. They had my daughter go in to be induced then stopped the induction because supposedly my daughter had herpes. Made us come back to do the second induction then on this induction they stopped it because the lab said my daughter had tested positive for HIV. So mind you I tell them they are wrong all wrong about both and told them to give me orders so I could have my daughters blood drawn at CPL. which of course came back negative. Like we all knew it would but in the meantime made my daughters life and her boyfriends life a living hell because first they tell her she had herpes then HIV. Could you imagine what’s going through their heads during this time? Then because of all this stress my daughter had high blood pressure that the hospital and doctors caused her so the doctors excuse is to do a c section. My daughter has Medicaid so of course we all know Medicaid doesn’t pay well for natural vaginal births so of course why not cause my daughter bogus stress to justify a c section. And second something I found out later is that OB/gyn doctors medical malpractice insurance is astronomical so why not justify a c section to get paid more from insurance plus lower the risk of something going wrong during a vaginal birth because the doctor is on the hook for the next 18 years. So you can see why this is all making sense now? I had my suspicions but now I’m even more convinced of my suspicions of what her and her on call doctors are doing when my daughter told me two of her friends were told the same things at the end of the pregnancy while in the hospital that they had herpes. Told to take herpes medication and that now it would be time for a c section. One of her friends mother told the doctor no that no matter what she was not going to do a c section and no that she wouldn’t be taking the herpes medication because she knew she didn’t have herpes. Do y’all get the picture of what’s going on here? If this doctor or any of her on call doctors tell you that you have herpes when you’re about to deliver, do whatever you need to do to find out the truth. You never want to believe a doctor would do this but after hearing about her two friends having the same experience with her and her on call doctors it’s crystal clear as to what these doctors are up to. My daughter went up north to a totally different doctor and practice who had low rates of c sections. Do your homework and don’t just settle just because you have Medicaid. Two of my daughters friends just recently gave birth and had similar stories and it was just too much of a coincidence that not just one of her friends but both of them had the same experience with dr. Hemkumar and her on call doctors not to get really worried as to what’s going on here. All three had Medicaid as well. I hope that this saves people from having the chance of having a natural vaginal birth taken away from them because of the greed of these doctors. I wish that we would have chosen a different doctor and looked up c section rates with different doctors as well. We did our homework the second time around but unfortunately because of the first c section my daughter had to have another one. I truly loved having Dr. Hemkumar as my OB/GYN. She provided excellent prenatal care to me for 8years during my 3pregnancies. I followed her as she moved to several different offices over the years. Dr. Hemkumar would call me herself if I had missed an appointment or would fit me into her very busy schedule the same day whenever I had an issue. Dr Hemkumar is a wonderful Dr. she has delivered my grandbabies, my daughters love her. Although, one of her front desk staff is very rude, uncompassionate and makes going to the Dr uncomfortable for my daughter.

I've been a patient of Dr Hemkumar for years. She has delivered both of my babies and delivered numerous friends of mine's babies as well. Wouldn't trust any other Dr to care for me or my unborn child. Hands down the best OB in Austin.
