Dr. Saleemi has helped me tremendously! Came to her for chronic headache problems. She has seen me about every 2 to 4 weeks for almost a year now. She cares about her patients!

Dr. Saleemi has been a godsend. I have a very complicated health history with a diagnoses of fibromyalgia on top of it all. Dr. Saleemi has been incredibly patient and thorough as we unravel my diagnosis together. She takes her time and never rushes me through my appointments. Plus, her staff are kind and incredibly responsive. I was shocked my calls were answered or returned quickly - no getting lost in the phone system here! And the Meyers IV Cocktail has made a big difference in my quality of life. I was so bogged down with extreme fatigue that I needed multiple naps just to get through the day. Now? Most days I don’t need to nap at all! I highly recommend this team. The only reason i didn’t give 5 stars is because sometime the process of things like lab testing instructions, or procedure details aren’t explained thoroughly. BUT just ask a lot of questions. I was able to travel to Disney without difficulty in October 2019 for a week, which used to be a dream. Since that time I am nearly pain free. I am able to exercise and even started martial arts. I’ve posted several lengthy reviews praising this doctor and after reading a negative review I felt the need to post another, albeit brief, review. I am uninsured at the moment and I still, despite cheaper options, trust this doctor and only this doctor with my pain care. If you’re looking for someone to throw pills at you go to another pain care warehouse. Dr. Saleemi put me on a medication that saved me. I’m a challenging patient at times and she ALWAYS demonstrates extraordinary empathy while still giving me honest feedback. 16 years in epic pain, 4 different pain doctors, and I’m telling you she’s the one. I’m moving next year and still feel anxious about finding some as remarkable as her. As for her staff: I’ve been a patient since 2017 and they’ve always been great. Update: after posting the original review below, Dr. Saleemi awkwardly took it upon herself to argue with me about her lack of empathy as well as my billing issues in an appointment. It definitely wasn't a "let's improve this experience for you as a patient" type of conversation. Billing issues aside (which she found out, I was correct on), I was pretty appalled when her argument to my empathy assertion was that it just "incorrect" and "I do have empathy for my patients." I hope that she learns to listen more for patients like me. ________________________________________ I started seeing Dr. Saleemi a few years ago because I was looking for a good pain management doctor, and I saw that she had good reviews on Google. However, I would generally not recommend her to others as my overall experience has been negative. Biggest pro was that she was willing to investigate my pain issues by having me try many different tests, medications, etc. She also gave me topical medications that other doctors hadn't offered in the past. However, major cons are that she doesn't listen well or have empathy, she does not explain anything in a clear manner, she regularly doesn't remember details regarding what medications I am taking or have tried, and often her appointments serve no other purpose than to refill a medication. I also had one major financial issue related to inaccuracies in their billing system, which went on for over a year. She might be a good option for people who have very specific issues, but if you're a person like me who has had more complicated pain issues and need a doctor who's willing to cultivate a more supportive and trusting relationship, I might recommend you look elsewhere. Dr Saleemi is a caring doctor. I know her as a professional, working with her in the procedures she performs, and now as a patient. She knows her stuff and is able to diagnose problems and recommends plans of action expertly and immediately. I am happy to have worked with her and have her as my doctor to care for my neck and shoulder. I will recommend her to my patients and also bring my family to her should the need arise. This is a real boutique clinic. The staff are knowledgeable and have fabulous bedside manner; they are prompt and attentive. Dr. Saleemi is an excellent clinician and a most accomplished provider of solutions. If you have any kind of pain, call on them and find relief.

First let me start by saying that I used Dr. Saleemi for a few years and changed from her to another pain management clinic because it was closer. Mistake. Why? Because Dr. Saleemi cares. This woman has put so many hours into listening to me ramble on about what I found on Google or what I think it might be and she smiles and we laugh and she explains to me why I am just a bit off or WAY off and then she tries something new if we didn't get it right. Yes she gives shots, she gives medicine, she gives advice and medical direction and formulates a plan and works through it with you. You are comfortable knowing the person you are entrusting with your PAIN, this thing that is with you every hour of every day of your life, is working FOR you not against you. With you at all times, guiding you. ON YOUR SIDE. I went back to her after 3 years of going through all sorts of B.S. with other pain doctors. All sorts of it. I went back to the one who listened, who cared for me, about me. Yes I recommend her. Stop thinking you have to be treated poorly. Being in pain is enough to deal with isn't it? I have been on this journey for 10 plus years. I know how you feel about your other doctor if you are on here reading these reviews. Give them a call. Go see her. Talk to her. Tell her your story. a TOTAL FAKE when it comes to Fibromyalgia treatment - HORRIBLE bedside manner. unbelievable!

Response to owner: based on my review, which discusses two Rxs that you called in, you’re not only unethical, you’re a liar. When challenged for not doing your job, your narcissism took over and you canceled my RX. Gross. I just hope others read your lies and run. EDIT: this doctor also, without asking any questions about my mental health history, decided to double my dose of cymbalta and told me to stop taking lexapro. After then making a snap judgment and canceling my rx for one of the only medications that actually works for CRPS (ketamine is an NMDA antagonist), I’ve sunk into a horrid pain-induced depression. It took me almost a month to get an appointment with another doctor. During this month, on Saleemi’s counsel, I’ve completely %*#+ed my seratonin levels/brain chemistry and have had such thoughts of despair I’ve been ready to just give up. My only hope is that the doctor I am seeing in two days can see a human being in front of him. Pain doctors nowadays think patients come in for their prescription pads. I came in asking for some quality of life back. Instead, she dangled a medication in front of me that could have been helping me for the last several weeks. Because she couldn’t remember to call it in, I became “drug-seeking.” Beware! I said when I first went in that I didn’t want pain meds for my CRPS - I wanted to try an infusion, injection, nerve block, etc. I was presented with two options: expensive, experimental self-pay procedure, or liquid ketamine. I opted to try the latter. When I left the office, I was told she would call in the medication to my pharmacy. This was a Friday afternoon, and I was in the middle of a flare-up. Later that afternoon I checked my pharmacy app and the script hadn’t been called in, so I called the doctor. She said she’d do it in an hour. This was at 5 pm. At 6:30 I called back and she said she’d do it in ten minutes. About 30 minutes later, she called me and said that she only uses one compounding pharmacy, and they were closed. She’d call them Monday morning. At 10:30 Monday morning I checked back in and she wasn’t in yet, but I was told that she would call me as soon as she walked in. At 12:30, I called back and was told that she was with a patient and she’d call when she was free. All this time, I’m in a flare-up, pain level is 10 out of 10, worst it’s ever been. That’s why I made an appointment with a specialist to begin with. I just moved here from out of town, so I’m having to establish new doctors and specialists, which is very cumbersome. The doctor eventually calls me back and questions why my pain is so different now than it was the previous week, and if I survived without the medication last week, how am I unable to do so now? I honestly could not believe I was hearing this. I told her that I had come to her for help! That the pain had reached unbearable levels, and I had told her that. I asked her why she was having such a difficult time doing what she said she was going to do - send my script. She said she would have her assistant handle it. The assistant called back and said it was faxed to the pharmacy...but it wasn’t. The pharmacy never got it. I call the doctor to tell her and she screams at me for believing the pharmacy over her, but says she will have someone resend the fax. Five minutes later, the doctor calls me and tells me I have to come in for a follow-up appointment the following week because she’s only called in enough medicine for one week. Then she calls back five minutes later and says she canceled the script altogether because my behavior was “drug-seeking.” Yepper. I went to her specifically looking for something other than pain meds and when she said she thought ketamine would work best, my response was “I’ll try anything” because I was in so much pain. I still am. Are all Austin pain doctors like her? I can’t afford to keep shelling out copays to find out. Surely there’s a human being that has a practice that is willing to treat pain patients with humanity and not automatically suspect criminality. I have had chronic back pain for 15+ years. I've gone to 3 it 4 different pain management doctors but have never found relief till IPA. I drive a bus for a living and recently injured my shoulder. I could not use my right arm at all. After months of suffering I had a PRP. Not gonna lie, it hurt at first but the next day I had about a 40% improvement. After a week about 70% and at 2 weeks 95%. Very rude. Does not understand CRPS, yet touts herself as a specialist. She told me that stress was not a factor, very condescendingly "it's not stress." Almost nothing is known about CRPS, yet she was certain that stress wasn't aggravating my CRPS. She also couldn't be bothered to call in my prescription on a Friday afternoon when in was in a CRPS flare-up. Made me suffer all weekend, then when I called Monday to inquire as to why she never called it in, she told me I was exhibiting drug-seeking behavior. I had just moved her from out of town, was in the middle of a flare-up, and her behavior pushed me into a depression spiral because I had no doctors in town - they were all out of state. Finding doctors (especially CRPS specialists) you can trust is so difficult, and then to be treated that way when you're in the worst pain imaginable...I am going to expose doctors like Dr. Saleemi if it's the last thing I do.

I could no longer stand long enough to even shower and was looking at emergency back surgery. She had me back on my feet within a week. Dr Saleemi is one of the rare doctors these days that truly cares about you, not just a paycheck. She has late appointments to help her clients. She takes time to listen to you, and doesn't run you through as fast as possible. She is also one of the smartest doctors I have been around. No matter how complex my case has gotten she was one step ahead of my other doctors. She suggested that I needed to get my primary care physician to look into my thyroid, and sure enough one side needed to be removed. Firstly, I was the first patient of the day with a 9:45 appointment. Dr. Saleemi finally strolled in around 10:10. During the intake she asked a question and I got out about three words out to answer and she snapped, saying, “Stop. Let me finish .” It’s not like I interrupted her...she asked a question and , I was simply answering her question. I had to take a drug test (which is fine. no problem for me). Dr. Saleemi said she doesn’t carry around a prescription pad and she doesn’t give medication on the first visit. I told her that a i had only a few days left of my medication from my last pain nanagenent. So she agreed to do a two week supply of some new medication so I wouldn’t go into withdrawal. after the appointment, is received a text message to do an anonymous survey about my visit. I went ahead and filled it out.She was supposed to callcin the prescription to the pharmacy yesterday, so I called beceuse my pharmacy still hadn’t received it. Dr. Saleemi called me back and stated that because of the feedback I gave (which wasn’t all negative, nor was it anonymous apparently) that she refused to take me as a patient and would not be calling in the prescription she originally planned to. So now I get to deal with withdrawals until either they are done or until I find a new doctor. so if you want a compassionate doctor, DONT GO HERE!!! In a nutshell, my first appointment with Doctor saleemi she diagnosed my piriformis which is over the sciatic nerve combined with my scoliosis caused pressure and has been inflamed for years. My first procedure was today 4/23/18 I will keep this review active with my progress. Day 1. First time in years pain free. Procedure was probably 10-15 minutes. Very comfortable procedure. Real nice recovery room with TV, magazines, pillow and blanket. Extremely clean, comfortable and orderly office and O.R. Friendly and helpful staff. ❤️ this Doctor. She definitely knows her stuff. Interventional pain assoc. Is located on FM 2222 Between RR 620 and Capitol of Texas Hwy (360) A little history: My primary is at ADC and they said there was nothing more they could do for me and referred me to a pain specialist and I wanted a specialist out of their Network. I believe Dr. Saleemi is the only woman pain specialist in Austin. On thee occasions, in public, I could not put an ounce on my left leg. It only lasted about five minutes but it was very scary. I have been in discomfort since I was 13 when I was diagnosed with scoliosis. I am now 61 and a few years ago the discomfort turned into conic pain. About mid 50's I started having what I thought and was told by Docters was sciatic nerve pain. Even though I always told the doctors it NEVER ran down my leg, and that the pain was just in my left glute. I just got a copy of my MRI from 2014. Back then I was told that the MRI didn't show anything. Below is a photo of my results. And what I JUST found out. Over the years I have two steroid injections the first one was fine and I had a little relief that only lasted 3-5 months. The second injection was a nightmare, so painful I swore I would never have another. More years, no relief but lots of pills. Only someone in pain will appreciate my detail. Photos show piriformis and sciatic, scoliosis and how combined caused my pain. Also my MRI report. Had no idea I had two bulging discs as well. Great experience with both doctor and staff! Was able to improve my pain on both areas that I was experiencing the pain. I switched to Dr. Saleemi in December 2017. I have degenerative disc disease. 6 surgeries since 1999. Two neck, 2 back and 2 knee. I had been seeing my former pain doctor since 2013. In the first few visits with Dr. Saleemi we have talked about more options for me then I had any idea were available. We have completed one of the option and it is a success. On to the next. I also had been left on fentyal patches by my former doctor for years and she got me off that deadly stuff and I'm now on new medicine that she is monitoring closely. I feel like myself again. She has helped me immensely through the years. For that reason, I continue to seek her services and guidance regardless of having moved over an hour out side of the Austin area. My experience with Dr. Saleemi has been wonderful. She is very caring and actually listens! Above all I've had great results with my back pain. Her office is a treat with a great relaxing atmosphere and very friendly people! I'm currently driving about five hours to reach her office because she is such a great doctor. Dr. Saleemi has been my doctor for over two years. I am extremely pleased that I receive empathy and compassion from her and I thoroughly trust her decisions. That is a first, as I have not had that in the over 20 years since being diagnosed with fibromyalgia. Other doctors seemed to look past me when I mentioned that word. I am so much more whole since meeting her. I love that she will allow me to be a part of the plan for handling the daily pain.

I want to help any one considering going to this doctor. I wasn’t treated professionally by the doctor herself. The staff was good. The doctor said my pharmacist did not contact her about a preauthorization, when he actually contacted her office twice. She put off prescribing me medication when I have end stage degenerative joint disease in my right knee. I’m in constant pain every day. Not something I can suspend until she is ready to be involved in my case.

. EDIT: I had to downgrade my review because although Dr. Saleemi is a good doctor, her staff is not. If you ever call to speak to Dr. Saleemi or her assistant, don't ever expect a call in return. Either they are not given the message or they don't bother to return the messages. I've been trying to get a hold of someone about a pharmacy issue for 4 days now. There is no after hours number and no voicemail. You're basically on your own unless you want to make another appointment and pay your co-pay again. EDIT: It's all about money for this doctor. If you have a deductible, she will expect you to pay it right there and then even before you get a bill or before insurance is even billed. The office staff tacks on fees without telling you and even when you're in an office visit she will ask you about what payment you have made and will not see you unless you pay. Dr. Saleemi is an outstanding physician who really takes time to be thorough with her patients. I went to her after several different pain management specialist had failed to truly treat my pain. Instead of just throwing pillows at me, or lining me up for pointless procedure after pointless procedure, Dr. Saleemi assessed me, conducted a physical exam – something no other doctors did – and prescribed a medication that for the first time in 12 years eradicated my pain. She is amazing

She does nothing but make you worse!!! If you have RSD or CRPS, she does not understand it. She did nothing but give me steroids over and over and over again. My health declined rapidly and I gained a great deal of weight because of the steroids. I was in the early stages of my illness, physical therapy is a good course in the early stages. She never suggested it. Instead she got me hooked on OxyContin and Norco. I only took it has prescribed, but detox was HELL!! SHE IS RUDE AND CONDESCENDING!
