I would not go to this doctor he is racist towards Chinese people And as I was waiting in the waiting area I spoke to another person that is seeing him and saw the patient on a wheelchair the person or the patient said he paralyzed him with the spinal surgery. Had stinging pain in my lower back that was traveling down my leg. couldnt stand up straight and walking caused a lot of pain. Dr. Suratwala came highly recommended after trips to multiple chiropractors provided no relief. Dr. Suratwala was courteous, kind and thorough. he offered options other than surgery which he explained should only be preformed as a last resort in my case. the medication helped but shortly after finishing my prescription the pain returned. On a follow up visit with Dr. Suratwala, he explained that a cortisone shot would be the next option. scheduling an appointment was easy and he administered the cortisone shot giving me no pain at all. 3 years later and counting i have no pain at all. Dr. Suratwala is one of the most professional orthopedic surgeon I’ve met. He’s a great listener, asks the right questions, and is genuinely concerned about patient’s well-being. After initial visit and the right surgery (I had terrible herniated disk in the lumbar spine and hard leg pain over three months) I was better in no time. He is a two faced person. I was highly recommended to him for constant neck problems and instead got the run around. Wanted to do surgery and after seeing the results of an MRI he chickened out and told me to go to Pain Management. Stay away.

He's very thorough and an excellent diagnostician. He speaks so you understand what he's saying and spends plenty of time with patients.

Is very knowledgeable; does not speak legalese and more important, actually examines you instead of just typing notes into computer while you explain your reasons for the visit.

I have had back issues for years, and I went to this doctor and he actually took the time to explain my options. Dr. Suratwala is very caring and thorough. I didn't feel rushed out as I have with other doctors.
