After 16 years of absolutely horrible pain Dr. Yoon said to me I can fix that. I finally have my life back. Thank You Doctor Yoon, you have my highest recommendations.

Very arrogant demeanor. Rushed to leave the exam room. Failed to listen to my concerns and treatment history and became defensive when asked questions. No 2-way discussion about treatment options. Just an awful experience and extremely discouraged by his outright disrespect for the patient's time and effort to attend the appointment.

Waited for 2 hours to be given the “obese” speech. Then told to go to physical therapy which has not helped this is a joke and waste of time. My pain is off the charts. He doesn’t seem very professional.

Dr Yoon was excellent, from the beginning not knowing me, he was very informative, allowed me to get my wife on the phone eventhouh no one was allowed to come with me. Visit my wife and I after surgery. My highest accolades to and for him. Thank you!!!!

Dr Tim Yoon I believe is one of a kind. He performed surgery on my back and and I promise after the surgery I never felt the pain in my back again. He’s a doctor with a few words but enough confidence to remove any fear one might have had when you entered his presence. He’s pleasant and self assured of his job. My 83-year old mother was seen by four surgeons in Jacksonville and St. Augustine. All of them said there was nothing they could do for her. On her first visit with Dr. Yoon, he said “I’m your man.” He had the confidence and the skill to perform a triple laminectomy and discectomy on her aging body to bring 100% pain relief. If a doctor tells you they can’t help you - trust them - because they have neither the confidence or the skills to do it. Dr. Yoon had realistic goals and expectations of what was possible for my Mom and he succeeded at all of them. I have Scheuermann's Disease with Kyphosis. I had an eight level fusion to correct my kyphosis on 05/19/2019 By a surgeon in Athens , GA.. The surgery didn't correct the kyphosis. On 04/15/20 I saw Dr.Yoon on a telemed visit. He was pleasant and he treated me well. He said My previous kyphosis correction fusion wasn't done right. He said I would need a VCR surgery to correct my 80 degree kyphosis now (documented evidence of 80 degree kyphosis in my records) . He assured me he is the best and he could do it for me if I wanted to proceed. I had an in office visit with him on 09/09/20. He asked why I was there. He said He wasn't going to do surgery on me. He said my spine was in the normal range now and denied ever saying different. He got upset with me because I was in a lot of pain. My BP was high. I was getting upset with him for treating me this way and got a little out of breath explaining how I felt.. He made fun of me for hyperventilating. He told me to stand up straight and pretty well asked us to be leaving. He put in my records that I was hyperventilating and I had exaggerated pain behavior. In my opinion, this Dr. may know his stuff and he may perform lots of good surgeries but he treated me poorly. He had no reason to. I do not understand why he had a sudden change of demeaner with me. I do not recommend Dr. Yoon. He will not loose sleep over me. If he treats you this way, He will not lose sleep over you either. Dr. Yoon performed a 10 hour osteotomy on me in November of 2015. Today November 2020 I am still doing well and you would never know that I ever had scoliosis! He is a wonderful surgeon with a great bedside manner and he actually sits and listens to you at the office during your appointments! He also makes himself available after your surgery in case of an emergency. He’s awesome! Thank you Dr. Yoon and staff for such great care!! I cannot state strongly enough how grateful I am that I was referred to Dr. Yoon and his team for relief of my back pain. I had been treated locally with epidurals, physical therapy and ablation and still could not walk to my mailbox without help, or stand long enough to make a sandwich. Dr. Yoon evaluated my problem and recommended surgery. Within 3 months I was back to walking and doing my regular activities. I will always be grateful to him for giving me back my life. Dr Yoon performed spinal surgery on me at the Emory Spinal Clinic. In arriving at the decision to proceed with this surgery the doctor was extremely open in talking about the risks, pain and recovery. The procedure was as he described and within one week, I was fairly self sufficient. The pain during the first two days was as he described as fairly intense, but subsided with each day afterward. I was walking in the house every few hours on the second day as recommended for a couple of weeks and then ventured outside near the house. within a month I only experienced mild pain but was fully active within the detailed rules provided by Emory. I would recommend Dr. Yoon to anyone suffering from back pain or sciatic discomfort. Excellent Doctor.

Before meeting Dr. Yoon for my back/sciatica pain I went to another spine surgeon. That surgeon did a 'cleaning' out of my L4, L5 and S1 and in 6 weeks the pain returned. Dr. Yoon was referred to me by friends whom he helped. After meeting with Dr. Yoon and his team my husband and I felt he was the right surgeon to help me. They explained in detail what would be done and how long my recovery would be. The surgery was 6 1/2 hours long and very involved. I have all sorts of nuts and bolts in me!! Now 3 months later, I have NO pain. I can go on long walks, cook standing up, and shop without difficulty. It was a long road of recovery but now I know it was worth it. My quality of life has greatly improved. I now refer Dr. Yoon and his team to those who need their expertise.

Very informative and useful suggestions on surgical procedures

I came to Dr. Yoon with major nerve pain in my lower back and leg because of a herniated disc. I had had no luck with months of PT and steroid shots. I was much better from the minute I got out of surgery. It took a couple of weeks to get over some of the soreness from surgery, but even this was nothing compared to the debilitating pain I was experiencing. Would recommend to anyone with similar issues.

I am thrilled with the improvements with back pain. My only setback is the numbness I'm experiencing in my left leg which I was told is from swelling around the spine. I've already seen improvements and anticipate having all feeling back soon. Dr. Yoon has excellent bedside manners. He listened and thoroughly answered all my questions both before the surgery and especially after. I was visited daily for the first 4 days by Dr. Yoon at the hospital. When I demonstrated improvements, Dr. Yoon sent his other 2 team members to daily check on my progress. The 2 team members equally had great bedside manners as they listened and thoroughly answered my questions and concerns. Thank you Dr. Yoon!

During the two years before surgery, I had various treatments due to pain, but I couldn't get to work without any effect, and I was suffering from stress. Pre-op and Post-op care has been extremely up to standard and I felt very pleased about the procedure. It will take a good amount of time to get back to normal which is expected and until then I can still rely on Dr. Yoon's expertise to get my questions answered. I had surgery involving spinal fusion from T9 to my sacrum resulting in 10 hours of surgery. I am basically pain free and able to do my daily activities independently including driving. I think Dr Yoon is a miracle worker on top of being one of the most caring, empathetic and listening physicians I know. I have recommended him on many occasions. He truly is a special man.

1. My Symptoms: sciatica, chronic lower-back injection, recent strong radiating pain along thigh and hip. 2. Dr. Yoon’s and his team’s immediate care: after the conservative approaches unable to release my pain, I contacted Dr. Yoon on 5/24 Sun. He immediately responded on 5/25 (memorial day), met me for surgical evaluation on 5/26, and with his team (Rashida, Lucretia etc) scheduled me for surgery on 6/1. The facilities were very clean and the staff was very helpful. Dr Yoon explained my options clearly. As someone who has experienced staff infection from a previous surgery from a different hospital, it was hard to find a doctor who would help me. After some research I found Emory has never had a case of staff. After experiencing the way they prepare you for surgery I understand why. I recommend him to all my family and friends.

I had suffered pain from back injuries for two years. The pain progressed from lower back to my hip, then leg and ankle. I felt so desperate that I might never be cured after visiting chiropractor, physical therapists, and other doctors. However, upon my first visit with Dr. Yoon, my hope of recovery raised. He listened carefully about my story, explained explicitly to me what happened and answered my questions and concerns patiently. His confidence makes me calm and optimistic again about my health. Now I am about 6 weeks about my discectomy surgery, the pain is gone. I can do my favorite activities with my family again, and my whole quality of life improved! Dr Yoon did spinal fusion on vertebrae in my neck last Aug, 2018. I have recommended him to anyone who would listen to me ever since! Bedside manner was very comforting and reassuring during the pre-surgery visits, especially to someone who has white coat syndrome. All I can tell you is believe him, trust him and do everything he tells you, before and after the procedure. All went exactly as he described. The spinal center is well set up for these kinds of procedures, the staff was attentive and pleasant and the prep team was awesome. They just kept me overnight for observation, which I was glad they did both for me and my wife's sake! He warned me of a couple of potential side effects - weakened voice and difficulty swallowing - I had both, of course. Voice is basically back to normal 8 mos in and as he said would happen, the swallowing continues to improve with time, now only when taking the big calcium pills he prescribed! I highly recommend him. Don't just live with the pain!

You should be thanking your lucky stars if you get him as your surgeon. The man changed my quality of life. My surgery had to be moved up 2 weeks early bc my entire left leg went numb and I couldn't walk or stand straight anymore. I was supposed to have Dr. A (a highly recommended surgeon) bc this was surgery #3 for me. But Hurricane Irma came that day and Dr. A couldn't get to Tucker location from. N. Druid Hills bc of storm. She said Dr. Yoon was the best person to do it. She was right. I was so scared but I liked his matter of fact attitude. "You are suffering. I can fix it." Surgery went well, even though power went out and they had to use backup generator! Woke up and pain gone. Like All gone. Surgery site was tiny compared to previous 2. Got discharged next day. First week was agony due to back muscles but that was expected. And Jennifer, his nurse, was always available. I overdid it 3rd week and had to be prescribed Medrol pack. Dr. Yoon is simply wonderful. He is a brilliant surgeon who fixed my back so that I can walk again. I am eternally grateful to him for that.
