Dr. Sangeetha Lakshmi Kolluri

Dr. Kolluri is an extraordinarily warm person who puts patients’ worries at ease as soon as she starts to talk. She is very knowledgeable, friendly, and extremely good at explaining all the medical situations in an easy way. She cares for her patients, listens to patients tentatively, and can quickly understand our main concerns. Not to mention, her incredible eloquence when explaining “what is wrong with you”. My daughter and I have never felt left out of lacking knowledge about my daughter's condition. It was with Dr. Kolluri’s expertise, support and experience, my daughter was able to get through the lumpectomy and recovery smoothly. Dr. Kolluri is the type of “dream doctor” that we wish to meet in every physician’s office!

I was diagnosed with Breast cancer at 33 years old. Dr Kolluri was amazing at explaining every detail of my type of breast cancer and future steps to my cancer treatment. She advocated for me an got me the best referrals to make a great team of doctors that made me feel cared for and confident. She gave me support to make my own health decisions and gave me a realistic honest review of all my choices. When it came time for surgery the work Dr Kolluri did was phenomenal-she took my esthetics into consideration, made a precise and minimal incision that resulted in clean margins and great healing. I cannot express into words how thankful I am for such a badass Surgeon like doctor Kolluri. I am forever grateful!

Am a huge fan of Dr. Kolluri! All my visits to her Austin office were detailed weighing in with science, risks, statistics, and care that I felt she was truly a partner in helping define next steps to take as we navigated various test results : MRI, sonogram, and mammograms. I asked for a referral for a second opinion and without skipping a beat she provided a name of another doctor. She truly wanted me to feel comfortable with decisions I was faced to make. I decided to go forward with a lumpectomy . Despite my anxiety over the process she always provided sound counsel AND I was impressed with the care taken to keep the incision scar minimal. As my doctor, has such a bright and empathetic personality topped with a good sense of humor that I would highly recommend to anyone in their journey with breast cancer.

My experience with Dr. Kolluri was the best I have had in any healthcare setting. She made me feel like she was my ally, listened intently and answered any questions I had. She gave me every bit of information I could need and made me feel extremely comfortable. She did an excellent job performing my bilateral mastectomy. I will forever be glad and grateful I was lucky enough to have her on my side through this and highly recommend her.

I was so stressed with a BRCA1 diagnosis and Dr. Kolluri helped me more than I can say. She was knowledgeable, kind, empathetic, and made me feel empowered and in control of all of my decisions. To quote her, she put me back in the driver's seat of my life. And on top of that, my mastectomy went so well! She is an angel that I needed.

Dr Kolluri's office scheduled me for an appt 6 weeks ago. I received a call from this office that I was not yet scheduled! I was advised that she recently had let go of some employees. They refused to try to get me in until July 7th at the earliest! That's just wrong when I've waited 6 weeks to see her. Now they expect me to wait 2 more weeks! That's just wrong.

Dr. Kolluri was my last attempt to help uncover the issue I was having - I was in terrible pain nursing my baby. After seeing 8 lactation consultants and 3 different pediatricians - Dr. Kolluri was the answer! After ONE visit, a deep discussion and plan of care created, I found myself pain-free in 2-3 weeks following Dr. Kolluri's recommendations. She is smart, direct and determined to help. While I hope to not have any future concerns/breast issues, she would be my first call if I needed help. I cannot recommend her enough!!

I was rather stunned by the communications between Dr. Kolluri and myself. She had a poor bedside manner with me. We definitely made no connection. I had breast surgery 41 years ago when breast cancer was a death sentence. I never gave her any medical reports so she knew very little about why I had this surgery and my situation at the time other than the little bit that I told her. I said very little since the direction our conversation was turning became uncomfortable for me. She went on to presume and to verbalize her opinion, that I had unnecessary surgery but there is nothing I could do about it now. My guess is that I am probably twice her age. She seemed to have no clue of what breast cancer and mammograms were like 41 years ago. She compared treatment back then to how she handles breast issues today. The fact is I would not be alive today had I done differently back in 1979,. While she has good reviews, on other sites has 1 star reviews for bad bedside manners. December, 2020

I was so sad to hear you were leaving Texas Oncology. You made me feel like I was your only patient. You spent so much time with me on every appointment. You answered my daughters many questions and were able to assure her that you were giving the best treatment for my breast cancer. I had a few hiccups along the way, but you had all the answers. Even the rare infection in the same breast a year after the lumpectomy. You nicknamed me Trouble. Just FYI I am still cancer free. I was supposed to see you in July for my 2 year cancer free anniversary. I will truly miss you. I wish you much success with your new work venture and I'm sure you have had baby girl number 2, (last time I saw you were pregnant) Thank you for being my rock during that time of uncertainty and being there for my win!! You are a very special Dr and woman. Lots of love to you.

I'm so sad to hear she is leaving the practice. I was supposed to have a f/u with her this month as I have been under her care since July of 2019. I only wish I knew if she is to continue somewhere else but no one knows? Her bedside is top notch and explains everything in terms you would understand. Now I need to find another surgeon:(

As soon as I was diagnosed my nurse navigator recommended I contact Dr. Kolluri. I can tell you unequivocally that Dr. Kolluri’s bedside manners are exactly what is needed for a patient like myself facing the scariest diagnosis of her life. She never rushed, she always explained and explained it in terms that any person would understand. More importantly, Dr. Kolluri’s profound knowledge and confidence is what ultimately sealed the deal to trust her with my mastectomy. I highly recommend her.

Dr. Kolluri is excellent. She is very knowledgeable and takes the time needed to explain the disease and options. She is warm, compassionate and positive. I am very pleased with the outcome of my surgery and highly recommend her.
