I am writing to express my eternal gratitude to the medical staff on 3West at Kingston Hospital. I had to bring my 87 yr. old mother, Krystyna Drozd to the hospital in February because she was desperately ill. This medical staff did everything in their power to enhance the chances that my mother would recover. Her doctor, Sanwel Oyugi, could not have been more caring or more attentive. He came to see my mother several times every day, including his day off, he adjusted her medicines and treatments and after two weeks of no progress, he found the way to have that conversation with me about letting my Mom go. He was so sympathetic and gave me such good advice about contacting my family in Poland before making any decision. I stayed with my Mom for the two weeks and the staff did all they could to make sure I was as comfortable as my Mom. They gave me a gurney to sleep on, made sure I was fed and made my comfort their priority too. I hope the people of Greater Kingston appreciate the jewel they have in Kingston Hospital. Their care of my mother could not have been better anywhere. It was 2 weeks of gentle and profesional care and my mother’s passing was simply peaceful. I thank them all from the bottom of my heart.
