I was involved in a car accident and was referred by my primary physician. I was suffering from a herniated disk in my neck. After receiving one injection by Dr. Nguyen the pain was gone.

BIG complaint about his office. Everyone is nice and friendly. However don't try to call his office. No one answers the phone and they never call back once you have left them a message. It's been a year now since my surgery. However, my lower back is still in a lot of pain. Especially when I'm walking or have to bend over. After CT scan from my Neurologist he told me that my nerve in my spin is rubbing in the exact same place where Dr. Joseph performed my operation L4 & L5. I saw Dr. Joseph about it and he said he could go in again a scrap more bone from where it is rubbing. Or he could inject me with steroids. I ask why he didn't do that in the first place. I got no answer. Now I have no Doctor and lots of pain and I'm still paying for the operation. BIG complaint about his office. Everyone is nice and friendly. However don't try to call his office. Dr. Samuel Joseph is an excellent Doctor. Met him for the 1st time in 2009 when he was treating me for a severe work related injury to my neck. He diagnosed was needed, but he went further to figure out what may be causing other issues. He closed a puzzle that other Dr.s had missed or improperly diagnosed for years. Now 11 years later and my MRI showed issues in my neck again. I immediately made an appt and upon seeing my MRI Dr. Joseph got me in the next week for surgery. I wasn’t nervous because I completely trust him. The surgery went well and I literally felt so much better that night. His kindness and compassion shown to me is so appreciated. The office runs great with Nancy knowing each patient, Melissa who takes care of all radiology issues but also has a sincerity in her care of me. Brian, Dr. Joseph’s assistant is very thorough and listens. I have been recommending Dr. Joseph for years and will continue. He is a talented surgeon, a caring compassionate Doctor and person. I am a patient of Dr. Chatterjee and I honestly feel so blessed that I was referred to him!! I had been dealing with severe and debilitating pain for several years. I tried Chiropractic, acupuncture, and trigger point therapy, etc. and nothing helped. Dr. Chatterjee looked at my MRI, completed a comprehensive exam and was able to identify the situation that caused my issues and knew I wanted to take anti-painkiller approach for long term relief and he was able to meet that. His team was also a pleasure to deal with, especially Nicole, who helped me navigate the insurance hoop jumping! I have already referred him to my mother and my best friend!

Doctor Chatterjee and the staff are phenomenal! Highly recommend them! Very accommodating with various locations.

Dr. Joseph is an exceptional physician that I would highly recommend. I went to two local Doctors who fluffed me off and said my pain was from my previous diagnosis of scoliosis and to go to a pain management center. At 52 years old, I thought life as I knew it was over. They looked no further than my lumbar spine. Luckily the second of the two put his ego aside and asked if I would travel to Tampa to see Dr. Joseph, I was in so much pain I would have traveled anywhere. Upon my initial visit, Dr. Joseph immediately sent me for a thoracic x-ray and diagnosed Kyphoscoliosis. About 2 months later he performed surgery. I now have 2 rods, 10 fusions and about 25 screws. Sounds awful, but I am now 6 months into a 1 year recovery and my back feels great. I still have some post op pain, but it's almost not worth mentioning. Prior to my visit with Dr. Joseph, I could only spend about 4 uncomfortable hours on my feet, the remainder of the day was spent in bed.. Did a great job on me on two different occasions. Gained my respect by making me go through 6 months of therapy before having spinal fusion due to my age (34 at the time) instead of immediately having the surgery. I’ve never really felt comfortable in doctor's offices. I have to say Dr. Chatterjee and his staff have changed that for me. I have never had such a pleasant experience. All my appointments have been professionally handled and were done with efficiency. I’ve been able to schedule all my procedures around my work schedule. If I could recommend any location to someone who has neck or back pain it would be this location. I’ve never really felt comfortable in doctor's offices. Dr.Samual Joseph is extremely competent surgeon. Explains in detail how he can help you. His office staff are amazing and very professional. Dr.Joseph helped me from being a total hunchback for 2years and being in constant pain to being able to stand upright and very minimal pain! If you are considering spine surgery Dr.Joseph is the physician you want to see! He takes his time and explains in detail what he can do to improve your quality of life.

Dr. Joseph is the finest surgeon I have had and I speak after several different surgeries from Miami, West Palm Beach and Tampa. He provides a thorough evaluation, explains the procedure in detail and then performs exceptional surgery. I left the hospital the same day after having two fusions with his minimally invasive technique. His office staff particularly Nancy Parra, Medical Assistant and Cindy Elbe, Surgical Coordinator went above and beyond always making me feel as a valued patient. Dr. Thuy Nguyen of the Tampa office performed a Kyphoplasty on me. I had a bad fall and was in extreme pain from a compression fracture. Had been in three different hospital emergency rooms with no relief. St Joseph’s Hospital recommended Dr. Nguyen at Josephspine. It was an outpatient procedure and the pain was immediately relieved. This procedure and Dr. Nguyen come highly recommended by me. Manner by him and his staff was always professional and welcoming

Great doctor who always tries to help his patients.

Dr. Joseph performed an emergency 5 level spinal fusion on me. I was in a terrible motorcycle accident and my vertebrae broke a year later after being misdiagnosed by my previous doctor. He told me due to my accident i would be in slight pain forever and would need to find a new normal, if you appreciate a doctor that tells it like it is snd cares deeply about hid his patients this is your guy. Best Doctor I have come across in a long time! Compassion bedside manner and he is cutting edge!!! 4 weeks out of surgery and feel better than I have in 10 plus years!!!! He will fix you.

It sure would be nice for their office staff to forward messages to the Dr due to severe pain from a patient who had severe scolious. 2 phone calls on 4/5/19 ignored. The followup from what i’ve seen is not a priority and slow. I’ve been with her since the surgery and i am fully aware of her pain and her frustration and failure to respond to her phone calls.

My experience at this office has been wonderful. Dr. Joseph has provided excellent care for me. I had been in pain for 15 years or more and had many forms of treatment for my back pain. Luckily, I found my way to Dr. Joseph. Before my first appointment I had x-rays taken. Less than 5 minutes into my appointment Dr. Joseph told me what was wrong and gave me options. We agreed to go with a surgical procedure. I have not had one minute of pain in the surgical site since I woke up from the surgery.

Dr. Joseph Jr save my life. I'm saying this, because I was in a car accident June/2018. Dr. Joseph found with 3D View "fracture of the Neck" and Spinal Issues, but through all of this I had to wear collar morning, noon, and night. So, on October 11,2018 I had the surgery Dr. Joseph at Memorial Hospital. My recovery time was wonderful through Dr. Joseph, so, far as medication I really did not have much needs, because through the hospital stay the staff was wonderful and if I needed Dr. Joseph.

Due to a bad fall last summer my mother in-law (89) developed severe spinal stenosis (lower back)...hospital and rehab.. 11 months on pain meds. She had to move in with us! Went to 3 doctors prior to Dr. Joseph, some wanted to do major surgery with a year recovery or others minimal invasive surgery not in a hospital & not covered by medicare. Dr. Joseph was covered & minimally invasive..3 months now she is doing amazing! Much better than we could have hoped! Back to normal! We are so happy! TKS!

I recently had a spinal fusion done at Joseph Spine. Within 5 days I was off all pain medication and walking 5 miles a day. I highly recommend Dr. Joseph and his staff. Everyone in the office and the hospital was very friendly and helpful.

Very good Doctor that seems to really care about the patient. He had to do several surgeries on my spine, basically taking out old hardware and rebuilding it. He knows me well and understands my medical needs. Highly recommend...

After an unexpected fall or accident, to accept that you need spine surgery can be very scary. Dr. Joseph and his team came highly recommended. I felt relaxed, educated, and prepared prior to my surgery. I was completely secure, knowing I was in such trustworty and capable hands. The surgery center staff treated me like family and work together like a well-oiled machine. The administrative staff is responsive and thorough. I am truly thankful and grateful for the whole experience.

I don't think Dr. Joseph even deserves a star but that is the lowest option available. Dr. Joseph performed a spinal fusion on my L5-S1 a little over two years ago. He promised that I would receive instant relief and after 3 months I will have a reduction in my pain level. I kept all my follow-ups and followed the required stretching and recommendations but the pain did not lessen. After 3 months I advised him that I was still in pain, he advised me at that point that I needed to give my spine/back a year to heal but he claimed that everything looked good on x-rays. After a year I went back to him, the pain had gotten worse than the original complaint. He tried to persuade me to believe that it was a different issue but it was the exact same area and pain. He told me that I should seek treatment from a chiropractor, I was confused because before the surgery he told me that seeing chiropractors were a waste of time. I good utter no other words, he left the room abruptly and by the time I got to the front desk all my x-rays, and MRI's from the many years that I visited that office was waiting up front for me. I guess he was saying that he was done with me. I was very upset with myself for allowing him to perform the surgery. Two years later the pain is even worse, I am in chronic pain all day every day. I contacted his new office, left a message, and spoke the front desk receptionist about my daily pain, I was advised that I would be contacted. That was two months ago, and I still have not received any return call. So I paid over 50K for a surgery that has left me with more pain and the doctor, Dr. Samuel Joseph Jr. does not care. My pain management doctor recommended that I see Dr. Joseph about having a spinal cord stimulator inserted, and I am very glad that I did so. Even though his offices and surgery center are a long drive from my home, I know I made the right decision when I decided to have Dr. Joseph do my surgery. He is an expert on spinal cord surgery, and I had an excellent outcome. He is very caring and has knowledgeable and caring people working with him. I am happy to recommend him for spinal surgery.

If you're wondering what doctor you should choose for your back problem, you don't need to look any further. Dr. Joseph, without a doubt, should be your FIRST choice. I could hardly walk because of the pain. Dr. Joseph's accurate diagnosis of my problem and his quick scheduling for surgery had me back on my feet within 2 weeks, with minimum after-surgery discomfort. You may have to wait a bit to see him, but "the best is worth waiting for."

Dr. Joseph is an outstanding surgeon. He performed a very successful lumbar S1-L4 fusion surgery on our daughter who was suffering from a congenital problem/severe sports injury. She is doing fantastically well four months later. We got many opinions and were referred to Dr Joseph by several specialists. Our experiences with the offices have been very mixed and sometimes chaotic, but Dr Joseph's direct assistants are excellent and his work is great! The new office seems better and improving

I've am 47 years old and have had severe scoliosis and many surgeries. I was having an awful time breathing and controlling the extreme chronic back pain. It only took Dr. Joseph one visit to recognize the problem, schedule my surgery and remedy the problem! Although I have a long way to go in the healing process, I can breathe and am optimistic that my pain will be controlled! Incredible surgeon, incredible staff.... worth the wait EVERY TIME!

I had a spinal fusion done on my entire spine with a very good Dr. in NY. While I was here in Florida I ended up breaking both rods. August 7th, 2015 I had to go thru the surgery all over again. Finding Dr. Joseph was a true blessing! He assessed the situation quickly, got me in to surgery even quicker to have this repair done. The procedure was very long but Dr. Joseph did an incredible job replacing the broken rods and reinforcing them where they originally broke. He has a great staff.

This is the best surgeon around. Dr. Joseph operated on me 5/12 and has done an amazing job. The staff is always professional and make you feel cared about. Beyond 5 stars!

I had a spine fusion with this doctor. He left my stitches in my spine for too long and ended up having my come into the office and had his PA cut my stitches out of my spine, without washing the area before or after. Within 2 weeks I was in the hospital for a massive STAPH infection. I ended up having to have 3 SEPERATE clean out surgeries and went home after a month and a half (in and out) with a PIC line on Venco. I had to have 12 weeks of antibiotics. He didn't care and discharged me, RUN

Don't come here they loss my patients notes. The staff don't know what they are doing. You can leave a message and never get a call back. Dr. Jopeph spends 3 minutes with you after you wait over an hour. I gave them the benefit of the doubt, but no more. Find another doctor

I suffered with chronic pain in my right leg for nearly 4 years. I decided that I was going to have surgery to permanently fix my back issue. I was recommended by my primary care doctor, Colin Chan to go to Dr. Joseph. Dr Joseph discovered that I had a much more serious back issue that needed to be fixed first which resulted in my first surgery, 3 months later, I had my second surgery which has alleviated the pain in my leg. Waking up everyday pain free is life changing! Dr Joseph is AMAZING!!!

Healthcare appointment was good. I called ahead to make sure They took BC&BS insurance - answer , YES - actually NOT. Just got a bill from Dr. Joseph for an office visit for $1,326.00. Billing department is impossible to get to. Since when is an office visit alone worth $1,324.00

Dr. Joseph will impress you. In my opinion he is a highly skilled surgeon who knows what to do and say to help you feel completely confident that the procedure will be a success. Post op he quickly and capably assessed patient needs and abilities in order to optimize the discharge plan and get his patient on track for return to normal living.

Dr. Joseph diagnosed my cervical spine issue & first treated w/steroidal injections. When that gave no relief, he recommended surgery. I had my surgery on May 24. Prior to the surgery my quality of life was greatly diminished because of the incredible pain I was in. Even strong pain meds did not help. Post-surgery, I IMMEDIATELY felt relief from the pain. It feels like a miracle. The aftercare from Dr Joseph and his staff is wonderful. I will go for my final checkup in August 2016.

I would recommend Dr. Joseph. He is excellent at determining what is wrong and correting it quickly anc permanently. I was in agony for 8mos. He did surgery and fixed the issue. I am recovering well and am very pleased with the outcome. Don't go in looking for a shoulder to cry on. This surgeon is busy and focused. Have your information and questions ready and hd will answer them.
