Isabella was one month old when this angel saved her life. He never gave up on her no matter how grim things became, coding 3xs, strep b meningitis, sepsis, DVT left side if brain, continual seizures, ventilator etc. It was a lot to digest but he always presented each challenge with at least 2 options and none ever included giving up. Everything he did in those 35 days in PICU have truly made a difference in her life now as a beautiful 9yr old. Our lives are not perfect but I cherish each moment

I have seen this "superman" of a doctor spend almost 72 hours straight at the hospital, with short periods of sleep on a couch in his office as he balanced the "life and death" management of a profoundly sick child in the PICU. He was a great teacher of nurses, medical students/residents, and colleagues. He was vocally intolerant of sloppily practiced medicine, and had no qualms of dressing down those individuals. He expertise will be missed in Columbus, GA.
