Had a long wait but Dr Cox and his assistant provided great care for me

Dr. Cox is amazing. Since 2008 I have had bad pain in my feet and seemed to get the run around with treatment from other podiatrists doctors on how to rid the pain. With Dr. Cox in 2 visits thus far, he has done more for me than the 3 other folks combined. Dr. Cox is all business and gets right to the root of the pain and gets after it, quickly. I highly recommend his services if you desire to get after your foot pain issue quickly. Dr. Cox is amazing. I went there originally for pins and needles but the appointment was moved ahead due to an ingrown nail. I waited over an hour in an empty office with no word. I was finally brought back to a room and I only have two things to say about this visit: 1) Dr. Cox said maybe 5 words to me total. I don’t think he made eye contact at all. 2) I had an abscess due to the nail, but I didn’t know that at the time. Dr. Cox just took scissors out of a drawer and cut the abscess without explaining anything. He left me with poorly wrapped bandages soaked in blood and for the nurses to explain everything. I ended up needing surgery for the nail a few weeks later. Surgery was scheduled for 11am but I ended up going in at 2:30pm; the wait time was over 3 hours. When asked about the hold up, the front staff was very short with me and my family. The only good experience there was the nurses and nurse practitioner actually explaining everything.

I have been attending Dr Cox office since 2017 for various reasons and ALL of my encounters here have been positive.I could NOT wish for better care.Dr Cox,Leah & Dr Urooj are wonderful to deal with.People who TRULY care about their patients.The whole staff at this office are courteous,friendly,efficient & caring.

First visit to a podiatrist, best experience ever. I was afraid and read many reviews. If Dr cox has bad reviews it's because of have to wait time when you have an appt. Dr. Samuel W. Cox is an amazing Doctor! Compassionate and understanding. Very clear and concise explanations.

He established a comprehensive treatment plan that covered all aspects of my condition. I feel reassured that there is a plan for recovery and maintenance.

Dr. Cox provided excellent care for my daughter with special needs. Him and his staff went above and beyond to accommodate for her needs. Yes, Dr Cox is a good listener, knows the right questions to ask and really cares about helping you. The only criticism I have is he is usually running late and I wait for him too long a time.

Although they are very short staffed, the level of care was exceptional. I would recommend Dr Cox to my friends & family.

My husband had a accident and his injury was not getting better and the office was able to get in him the same day to see Dr. Cox. I am glad this was the first call I made and the office was able to accommodate us and get my husband on the road to recovery.

The staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming. Office was kind of warm, but that could of also been because I was nervous! I had an ingrown toe nail taken care of and it was honestly a great experience. First time calling into schedule an appointment the receptionist was rude and kept me on hold for about 20 minutes then when I asked to speak to someone else she started yelling people were before you and your not the only one I am assisting. My wife’s appointment was at 9:15a.m. They called her to bump her up 15 min which doesn’t seem to matter. Why have an appointment time if you don’t get seen for another hr/2hrs? She has been in there for an hr and half and she got called back soon after she arrived and is still waiting to be seen by Dr.Cox. This isn’t the first time either. Horrible, rude, extremely unprofessional staff. My appointment was January 2020. We WAITED 1 HOUR & 45 MINUTES for my FIRST appointment. Each time I asked how much longer the staff just looked at each other and said I DON'T KNOW. Finally saw the doctor. He recommended laser treatment and I agreed. They did 1 first (of 3 treatments) the same day. The technician complained about her job and the doctor the entire time. She hint she was leaving. Scheduled my second treatment 2 weeks later. They called me the day before to cancel my appointment because the technician had quite. What a surprise. Rescheduled 3 weeks later. Again I waited a ridiculous amount of time. Again no explanation as to why. The new technician also complained about her job and told me she was leaving too. Attempted to schedule my 3rd appointment, but had to wait until they hire someone. In the meantime they tried to DOUBLE CHARGE me because the 2nd technician did more laser work than I was Scheduled for. NOT MY FAULT AND I REFUSED TO PAY. Then the Covid-19 happened. Our first visit (in 2020) resulted in a three hour wait. While that was incredibly frustrating, I have tried my best to remain patient with this office. Our second visit was pretty uneventful, aside from some difficulty with scheduling since the person I spoke with could not figure out how to update our health insurance. The day before our third visit, I received approximately four calls from the office staff which ultimately resulted in the office needing to reschedule our appointment; the soonest they could schedule us was another two weeks away. Our third visit resulted in an hour long wait, despite being told we were next to be seen and no one was ahead of us. The medical assistant could not figure out how to properly measure my child's feet, and the staff that came to assist her was very curt towards us. No one knocks before entering a room, and while staff may not see an issue it can be very startling from the patient perspective. Dr. Cox attempted to apologize for our wait time by discussing his need to speak to the phone company. While I understand business needs, surely there is someone else that can handle that type of issue to allow patients the ability to keep their schedule. While I want to believe that Dr. Cox is the correct provider for my child's care, it makes it very difficult to continue with a provider that clearly does not respect a patient's time. Wait time to see dr is a bit ridiculous. Was the first patient of the day still took over 30 mins. This has happened at almost every apt regardless of what time the apt is.

I waited a long time after my scheduled appointment time before the doctor came in to see me, but after he came in, I realized why...he takes great care to spend time with his patients and he is very knowledgeable.

Dr. Cox and his staff were professional. I had an ingrown toenail removed and didn't feel any pain from the shots. Other than the wait time my visit was great I highly recommend Dr. Cox. I give Dr. Cox practice 4 stars instead of 5 only because of the wait time but it was well worth it.

Dr. Cox is great. Explained everything in great detail and answered all of my questions. Provided Treatment and follow up instructions. Had to work with Billing staff to ensure proper billed and that we all worked out. Glad to have the pain go away!!

I did enjoy the training, I don't know the two young ladies, one was very attentive to your training, so I took the time to how her how to put socks on in a faster way.

Today it took them like a 1 forty five minutes a bit long not working at this time so it's ok...staff is very nice...good Doctor...usually early apptmnts are a lot faster...

Spent as much time as needed to examine my foot and answer all questions I had. Was glad that his first recommendation was not to perform surgery and that he wanted to try all possible avenues and use surgery as a last resort.

Dr. Cox has a lot of confidence, which leaves me confident. Very cordial and not stuffy at all. Staff moves around in sync, it was a very fluid experience.

Staff and Dr.Cox are very welcoming and caring. Dr. Cox has sorted out my pain issues before his care I was not able to wear my shoes but now I am wearing shoes all day long. I am receiving the best care I have ever gotten thank you I feel alive again.

Dr. Cox conducted a thorough examination of my foot and ankle which has been bothering me for months, I thought I had plantar fasceitis, however after exrays and a manual exam, Dr. Cox also diagnosed a tarsal tunnel issue in my inside ankle which had been producing much of my pain. I am trying to avoid surgical options, so we agreed on a non-invasive treatment plan of shoe inserts, steroid shots, and CBD ointment. Hopefully this will help, together with some exercises, and, if not, I am back to see Dr. Cox in a month to discuss other options. His office staffing is suffering due to typical issues involving small businesses, with reduced staff. However, Dr. Cox stepped in to handle my needs (e.g. taking the x-rays himself). I've been going to Dr Cox (starting in late 2019) for foot pain, and just had my final follow up appointment. At that first visit, and every one afterwards, I found Dr Cox to be thorough, professional, kind and caring. I felt like he listened to my concerns, gave me good options, and most importantly, by following his suggestions and directions, I avoided having to have surgery to fix my feet issues. Everyone in the office is easy to work with and pleasant. His newish x-ray dude, David, is competent and caring and a great addition to the office. Dr. Cox although extremely busy, took his time to answer all of my questions and didn’t go on to his next patient until I thoroughly understood my condition and what he suggested I do for it. I saw Dr. Cox for severe pain in my big toe. He took an X-ray and told me my pain was caused by hyperflexibility in my joints. My pain persisted despite his recommendations, so I got a second opinion. The second doctor identified a fracture in my big toe right away. I went back to Dr. Cox's office and looked at his X-ray in person. The fracture was easy to see in the X-ray, but Dr. Cox didn't take the time to do a thorough exam and diagnose me correctly. The doctor I saw for the second opinion was very thorough and had me wishing I had gone to him in the first place. I was billed a small amount beyond insurance by Dr. Cox, and called him and explained that I had been misdiagnosed by him and that I had to get a second opinion in order to be diagnosed correctly. I asked him if he would be willing to give a discount on the amount I owed. Dr Cox denied that he provided less than optimal care, and insisted that I pay the full amount owed. Learn from my mistake and seek a more thorough Dr.

Didn't help much, still have pain in my ankle. I was told to bring in my MRI disk so he could look at it. Never got the disk back, the front office wasn't sure what happened to it. And I never heard back from him. He just wanted me to spend hundreds of dollars for custom insoles. The MRI Dr. told me I had a torn ligament, But Dr. Cox said it was like "tennis elbow", off the x-ray he did.

Unfortunately, I agree with the 1 Star ratings posts. I too walked out. The office was just filthy with discarded wound wrappings in the trash can. I could not stay in the room any longer and breath the toxic environment. This should have been in a Bio Hazard disposal container. Heaven help any homeless person who picks through the dumpster at night! Not sure what medical board would have to say? My insurance better not be billed! I agree, I felt it was all about the $$$.

Worst experience. We waited over an hour past our appointment time, and receptionist seems less than helpful receptionist seems rude. Not worth going to or returning.

We will never recommend this office to even our worst enemy. They ordered items we didn't need and then billed our insurance over a 1000 dollars then still wanted over 900 from us. They refused to cancel our order,s that they could still collect another 600 bucks. This place only wants to sell un-needed things to you. The best doctor to see instead is Dr Joel Bowen. Don't use this office they are rude, unprofessional and crooks. They talk over you on the phone and won't try to listen then when you use colorful language they get offended even though you are not criticising them or calling them names. Upon arrival I was given a large # of papers to fill out. In fact they took 1/2 hr to complete. It would have been nice to have been able to do this paperwork online pre-appointment. After that I waited another good 1/2 before being called to my appointment. Once I was put in an exam room it was another 1/2 before I saw the Dr. However, once Dr. Cox arrived in the room I felt he thoroughly listened to my concerns and addressed them completely with a plan of treatment.
