Samina Reza

I transferred to Dr. Reza for the winter months. My family oncologist sent her my paperwork in October in preparation of a December visit. While meeting with her for the first time, it was obvious that she had not reviewed my information and was 'skimming' through it while meeting with me. She also was NOT receptive to me asking questions, as well as following the treatment plan that was beginning to work for me. She seemed more concerned about whether or not she was going to be paid. I've never met a doctor who did not put the patient first. Please note: I knew that she would be paid as we have been going to that clinic for 2 years with a different doctor. My northern oncologist requested that we find a new provider for my treatment. Very happy with my decision. Our first meeting with Dr. Reza took 10 minutes, and our new doctor met with us for over an hour.

Every visit is detailed and consistent. She cares about your health and you as a person. I have been going there for 20 years and have never had a bad experience.

Dr. Reza is at the top of her field! Absolutely love her. If you want a straightforward but compassionate and understanding doctor then look no further! I have seen waaaay too many doctors over the years lol but that gives me a unique perspective :) Dr. Reza’s staff are all awesome as well! Always friendly and efficient.

I believe my husband is alive today because of the concerned care of Dr. Reza and her Oncology Nurse Dawn. We did not go there looking for a new friend. We were there looking for someone who could tell us what she was going to do to get him healthy again and she more than accomplished that. Along the way we did however understand that she is extremely busy but she always took the time to talk to us and answer our questions. Ken has been in remission now for over 4 years and she and her staff still show us the same courtesy each 6 months that we follow-up. Thank you to all of them. Ken and Paula

Dr. Samina Reza is the absolute worst doctor I have ever visited with. Number 1 the office is unclean. The examining rooms are not any better. She is very rude, aggressive in your face, and with out 1 ounce of beside manners. She does not react well when you ask questions. She has a what I say goes, no need to ask questions attitude! If I could give zero stars, I would without hesitation. She made a statement out of her expertise and I questioned her. She in turn got defensive and rude! I walk out. VERY DISSAPIONTED and ANDRY! I had an appointment scheduled to do telemedicine with Dr Rena. The office contacted me to confirm that there was an appointment to go over my iron level results. The morning of, I called the office to make sure the appointment was going to be done via telemedicine and was assured that I would be getting a call to go over everything. I didn’t receive a call, a reschedule, an apology for missing the appointment or anything. I called and was placed on hold till I hung up. This is not how a patient should be treated. Dr. Reza only gave two treatment options for my bleeding disorder, multiple rounds of chemo or a hysterectomy. I went through one round of chemo was then sent a certified letter stating they would no longer see me because of “not following the treatment plan”. I made it very clear how hard the chemo was on me and financially very difficult. Come to find out there are actually other treatment options, not just the two. If you want to be treated like a number then this is the place for you. Come to find out my issue is considered a form of cancer, yet I was never informed of this during my many visits. Extremely concerned for my health, and encourages me each visit. Highly recommend! Always polite and her knowledge is at the top.

The staff is great, engaging. Dr. Reza was informative and very kind. I like the office and personnel.

My visit was like a whirlwind. I felt like she had no interest in actually treating me. She's computerized and does not exhibit any personal warmth. She even brought race into the issue when I asked her to explain something. She indicated that she hoped she wouldn't have to see me again. WhenI went home and carefully read her written report about my illness, in reference to my answers,she said I "claimed " to feel this or that. Mean and uncaring!

I really hope this review helps someone’s journey. Please do NOT see this Dr. I have been very sick ongoing for two and a half years. I was finally referred to Reza’s office last April where she told me “I did not have cancer, and could cross hematology/oncology off of the list” Now at only 29 years old I am about to have my first Oncologsit appointment with someone else. This doctor was wrong the whole entire time and made me feel crazy and depressed. Had she taken the time to help me a year ago I wouldn’t be as far along as I am now. Terrible care for my 88 yr old Dad with cancer (MDS). Retaliated against me for convincing hospitalist to give my Dad a second unit of blood. Two units last him a month without symptoms. She ordered 1 unit, which only brings him to hemoglobin of 8.2 (normal is 14-18). This puts him in need at 1 week, yes more poking of his 88 yr old veins. I started my cancer treatment with Dr. Reza after leaving Moffitt Cancer Center. I came to her for a 2nd opinion and I also wanted to be closer to home but that was a big mistake. I went to this Doctor because I saw an advertisement of her being compassionate with her patients but that was so far from how she treated me. This Doctor had terrible bedside manners and was unprofessional. I will never recommend her. I ended up going to the best place that takes great care of me and that is Moffitt. Excellent, caring, total office staff very caring and pleasant. Dr. Reza very knowledgeable and remembers details of your personal health issues. Treats you like family, and is truly interested in you and your health.

Dr Reza is about following a check list and not fully caring about the patient as a whole. She only looks at the one thing you are there for. She Passes everything off to other drs instead of TREATING you! Not a Dr you want on your side.

Dr. Reza is an exceptional physician. She understands the importance of quality of life and provides treatment that maximizes quality of life. I am most appreciative of her preventative care in my chronic illness. I searched for a high caliber hematologist for almost ten years in Florida prior to finding Dr. Reza. Her efforts have dramatically reduced my need for inpatient hospitalizations. I found it amusing when I overheard one patient say to another, "Oh you are lucky, you get to go see Dr. Reza today". I feel lucky to have her and her team in charge of my medical care. Dr. Reza is an exceptional physician. I have found Dr. Reza to be both compassionate and straight forward. Her analysis is thorough and her staff is professional and compassionate as well. I don't believe the consistency between she and her staff is an accident... I believe it is a well run practice. She came highly recommended by my primary doctor who I trust and I have come to trust Dr. Reza as well. I consider myself an informed and demanding patient so that is no small thing.

Stage 4 Pancreatic-Went into full remission,given hope by staff, Dr. Reza was very supportive during treatment.Dr,staff,and Anita and staff followed up on questions and info for entire time of treatment. Could not ask for better care.

My 75 yr old mother was referred to Dr.Samina Reza by her Primary...Dr. Samina Reza was efficiant in suggesting the proper tests to determine she had cancer however this doctor has extremely pathetic bed side manners and 'None' if any compassion for her patient.... when I first walked in with my mother who had expressed to me how nervous she was... my mother asked that the doctor just speak with me and deliver any bad news and I would later advise her.... I am Autherized by my mother to discuss any results with the doctor in her file.... I asked and expressed 'our' concerns with the nurse and she said she would let the doctor know to discuss with me first.... approximatly 15 minutes after we were called in to take her vitals and instructed to go waite in the room... when 10 minutes after Dr. Samina Reza from the door barely inside the office yet says....'I have Bad news! its not good.... I have very bad News and its not good at all'.... 'You Have Cancer Stage 4 and its not Curable...... it can be treated but not curable....' She Said this with lack of compassion,Sympathy,empathy and complete disregard of emotion.... Her delivery was disgusting and inhuman and offered very little hope..... I went thru my mothers breast cancer 13yrs ago... and as her Caregiver I know that a patients Mental state is crucial in fighting this battle.... and Dr.Samina Reza had complete disregard for that... I will not take my mother to her office again.... as No one deserves to be treated that way.... Dr. Samina Reza seems to have become De- Sensatized..... and she needs to remember this is someones mother, grandmother, wife etc.... and above all someones life!
