Dr. Salvatore Martin Buffa

I saw Dr. Buffa in February for diarrhea that started mid-January. He was dismissive and diagnosed me with IBS and instructed me to follow the BRAT diet. The next day I called because I was bleeding. Dr. Buffa ordered a stool test and told me to see him in a month. He wasn't available for 5 weeks. As days passed, I got worse and called to get the first available appointment with a NP. During my appointment I asked for my test results which came back that I had a bacterial infection. Antibiotics were prescribed and also another stool test. A week later I was informed that I had C-Difficile bacteria. At this point it is now 5 weeks since my appt w/Dr. Buffa. It took 3 rounds of antibiotics, numerous stool and blood tests over a 4 month period to clear the infection because it worsened causing severe colitis while waiting for my appt w/Dr. Buffa. I suffered a tremendous amount and lost 14 lbs. It is now 6 months and I still have digestive issues all because Dr. Buffa dropped the ball.

Dr. Buffa is a great physician and person. I very highly recommend him. He is very personable, kind, with excellent communications. The staff was equally impressive, kind and personable. I really appreciate the care I received!

Took my mom here and he was amazing both diagnostically and personally. We both thought he was the best experience we've ever had with a Doctor. We highly recommend this place. Even the staff (especially Janine) are exemplary!!

Great doctor. So glad I found him when I relocated to this area.

I went to him for a procedure and he was very thorough and professional.

Dr. Buffa is an exceptional gastroenterologist! He is one of the nicest doctors you will ever meet. I have known him for about 17 years and would have to say, that you will wish you had met him sooner. He is warm and friendly and makes you feel comfortable no matter what the reason is, why you need to see a GI doctor. He is A+++!!!!

Dr Buffa is one of best GI doctors in the hudson valley. He listens to you, he cares, he understands. He put my mind at ease when I initially went to him with a problem, and in fact solved and diagnosed my problem relatively fast. I then followed him some years later for my dreaded colonoscopy, which again, Dr Buffa explained the procedure and assured me I would feel nothing. I would recommend Dr Salvatore Buffa and do to everyone. He is so knowledgable in his field and his staff is wonderful as well. That is really important.

Dr Buffa and his staff are wonderful. They are all kind and attentive to your needs. Dr Buffa explains everything, and is a wonderful and caring doctor. I would recommend him to everyone. I love his office staff, his surgical staff-all professional and kind. The best!

I liked Dr. Buffa until I woke up in the recovery room after my colonoscopy. In front of at least 10 other recovering patients and general staff he announced that I had a 'giant tumor' which was so huge he couldn't finish the procedure.So much for patient confidentially. I will never go to him again.
