Dr. Salima Lydia Brillman

There are many new medicines on the market to improve the effectiveness of carbidopa/levodopa medicines and reduce PD symptoms. The challenge is getting these new medicines because they tend to be expensive and insurance/health services providers will do everything they can to intimidate their clients by repeatedly denying access. with the goal of getting the patient to give up trying. Dr. Brillman is very knowledgeable about when the new medicines should be prescribed and will fight back against greedy insurance / health services providers and get the all important "pre-authorization" request approved. Dr. Brilllman asks me many questions and really absorbs what I tell her. Over the years she has done a marvelous job keeping my symptoms to a minimum

Misdiagnosed my wife and started her on Sinemet 25/100 3 times a day. After a month and half of severe leg pain, restless legs, swollen ankles, lightheadedness and inability to sleep at night, Dr Brillman still hung to the medication. We cut the meds in half on our Family Physicians advice and many of these ailments disappeared. Very little contact with Sunnyvale PI and not patient friendly. Stay away from both!
