Reviews for Dr. Ryan B Wilcox
We have had an excellent experience with Dr. Wilcox for 15 years running. I love that he talks to my kids and really listens to them. I would recommend him! I have to also give a shout out to his excellent team!
Hes been my kids pediatrician since my first kid who is 5 now. I have 3 kids and hes the BEST. Whenever he is out of the office and we have to see a different dr, its just not the same and no one compares to him. One situation that ill never forget is i called in for a possible ear infection one day like 10 mins before they closed and i lived 20 mins away. They WAITED for me and stayed past closing just so they could check for an ear infection for my daughter. If that doesnt show a great person, i dont know what will! Anytime i call for my kids being sick and they need to be seen, they always get me in day of!! He always listens to my concerns for my kids and makes me feel validated and is super supportive of anything i choose to do. Love this office, and i will never go anywhere else!
I have called this office 3 times over the past month to make appointments for my children. I have been told each time they will call me back to schedule an appointment. I have never been called back. I guess they don't really want to provide medical care to children ????
We have been with Dr. Wilcox for over 10 years now and he has always been kind, knowledgeable and very careful with my children. One of the best pediatric doctors out there!

hi from Brazil. Ala 4 Pinheiro. Familia Oliveira Santos
I’m heartbroken about my experience with Dr. Wilcox. He was wonderful at first and helped get my son out of the NICU and home healthy. Things were great until my son got sick 14 months ago. My son had constant and persistent vomiting and diarrhea for 11 weeks. I called multiple times asking for help or advice and went in to see Dr. Wilcox twice - all for him to turn me away each time saying “wait it out. These things resolve themselves.” My son was losing weight at an alarming rate and wasn’t getting better. I finally found out who Dr. Wilcox referred his GI patients (a pediatric gastroenterologist at Lone Peak hospital) and made an appointment with them. Dr. Wilcox never mentioned this dr to me. That doc wrote my son an antibiotic and within a few days my son improved and slowly got better. Fast forward to a couple months ago - we’ve moved and live within 2 miles of the Saratoga Springs Utah Valley Pediatrics location. My son got sick again - I expected pneumonia or bronchitis - and Dr. Wilcox didn’t have availability so I took my son to the SS location. I thought since we were still going to Utah Valley pediatrics that is wouldn’t be an issue. I didn’t realize how offended they’d later be that I took my son here. I saw a NP there but asked that Dr. Wilcox remain his primary care physician. I then, later, called and made an appointment with Dr. Wilcox for a 2.5 y/o check up. I thought this was a routine appointment. They made the appointment for the first one of the day. The day came and my best friend (who specifically requested I be in the room) went into labor and I needed to drive a ways to be there. I called into UV Peds and got their after hours answering service. I told the girl about the situation and that I wouldn’t make it to the appointment. She said “it’s not my job to tell them that. I’m just here to help with emergencies.” So technically, I no showed that appt. They billed me for the no show and I paid the fee as soon as I got the bill. Now the important part, TODAY. My son is very ill again and has been for 10 days. I called in to get an appt with Dr. Wilcox. Here’s how it went: Receptionist: “I see here you decided to go to Saratoga Springs.” Me: “yes, for a one off appt but I wanted Dr Wilcox to still be his primary pediatrician.” Receptionist: “I also see here that you no showed.” Me: “..yes..that’s a whole other story though and I paid the fee.” Receptionist: “I’ll have to talk to Dr. Wilcox and call you back.” Me: “okay. I’ll hear from you soon.” Dr. Wilcox’s nurse, Sam, called an hour or two later. Sam: “I talked to Dr. Wilcox and since you decided to go to Saratoga Springs and then no show, Dr. Wilcox has many other patients and will no longer see (my son). You can try to get an appointment with Dr. Lee.” My heart sank. I said, “I feel like I need to give you a little background here...” and I told her the story above with all my reasonings. (I need to admit I was so upset with Sam that I said the missed appt was due to a death in the family when the truth was I needed to be there for my best friend’s labor and birth of her child. It honestly came out of my mouth before I even thought about it. I feel dumb about the lie and will own that.) Sam: “well how am I supposed to know that if you don’t tell me?” Me: “you never asked. You assumed you knew and decided to no longer see my son. I don’t even want to see Dr Wilcox anymore anyway so that’s where we stand.” Sam: “okay. Goodbye.” And that’s that. I’m honestly so sad. He helped me with my baby from the beginning and now, I’m sure not understanding all the facts, decided to turn away my sick toddler. I’m hurt and furious and have changed to Alpine pediatrics where I’m sure my son will receive much better care. I’m heartbroken about my experience with Dr. Wilcox. He is a great doctor and listen to your concerns
Everyone at the office is so friendly and doesn't try to force anything on you. They trust your judgment as a parent, which is huge for me. I highly recommend Dr. Wilcox!
Dr. Ryan Wilcox is a great pediatrician, my kids love him, he is always willing to answer all my questions, even if they may seem obvious. Both of my kids feel very comfortable with him and he makes them feel special and are always looking forward for their appointment :) Thank you Dr. Wilcox and Staff, you are doing great! We love Dr Wilcox and his staff. This is our third child and we have been nothing but happy with how he has handled our children and dealt with us. He's very personable and relatable. He doesn't talk down to us but is able to explain things so that we know exactly what is going on. He's been spot on about some things I never would have thought were going on when my kids were sick. Dr. Wilcox has been our children’s pediatrician for over ten years, since our oldest child was born in 2009. We like Dr. Wilcox so much that after relocating to Salt Lake county in 2012, we have continued to drive to Utah county to have him care for our now three kids. He is wonderful, educated, and has a great bedside manner. We have always received the highest standard of care from him and his staff. My kids also like Dr. Wilcox, his staff, and his clean, welcoming office; they actually tend to enjoy their appointments, under the right circumstances of course. I’ve never had scheduling issues, nor have I had issues receiving call backs when I’ve had medical questions. Dr. Wilcox and his staff are amazing and I highly recommend him as a pediatrician! Excellent doctor!
Amazing doctor! He lets me asks any questions I have and gives me full detailed answers that I understand. He is very respectful and very accommodating. Phenomenal doctor and staff!
We have since moved from Utah and we are sad all the time that we couldn't have taken Dr. Wilcox with us. He was our pediatrician for roughly 15 years. Time and time again his diagnosis was spot on! His knowledge was unbelievable but to fully understand the amazing man this doctor is I have to go back a few years to 2001... This was a crazy year and Dr. Wilcox was (from my understanding) close to the beginning of his practice. Shortly after 9/11 I had our 3rd child and my husband (like many at this time) got layed off from a great job. We weren't willing to risk not taking our baby in for her regular visits so after our insurance ran out we were somewhat prepared to swallow the bitter pill of paying without insurance. With a young family this was a rough reality but we knew we had to do it. This was a very humbling and private time for our family as my husband relentlessly searched for a job; but after 9/11 no one was hiring. He was unemployed for 6 difficult months. When our insurance ran out I dreaded the reality that we were facing but took my daughter in for her regular scheduled well visit. At that time they had me fill out paperwork (if I remember right) every time I came in. And for the first time I left the insurance section blank. I hated it. But put on my smile and kept moving forward. I was taken back to the room to meet with Dr. Wilcox and right away he said, "so I noticed you didn't fill out the insurance section of your paperwork. Is everything okay?" Trying to control the tears that were naturally about to come I swallowed hard and put a smile on my face as I replied, "we're working on that but we don't have insurance right now." I will never forget his face as Dr. Wilcox sat and thought for a moment. He then turned to me and said, "how about we just charge you $20 for the office visit and call it good." Now I couldn't stop the tears from coming. My gratitude was huge. I told him I would repay the favor. This was right around Christmas time. Every year I can't help but reflect on this moment in my life. It was a game changer. Now fast forward to today and my son is just beginning his college journey as he plans on being a pediatrician. I've told him this story and someday I know a young mom with three little kids will come into his office and he can repay the favor. Thank you Dr. Wilcox. We miss your office in a big way. I love that my son is a patient of Dr. Wilcox and his staff. The nurses are always so helpful and willing to answer my questions over the phone. Dr. Wilcox is very patient and good with my son and answers my questions thoroughly. I highly recommend him!
We have moved far from Dr. Wilcox's office but we still go! He has been so great. I especially love that he is in his own office area now. There is never any wait time hardly and the nurses and office people are great and easy to work with. He answers all my many questions and does so kindly and knowledgeably. We had a friend recommend Dr.Wilcox to us and he is a great doctor! We have seen him for over 4 years. My son is medically complicated and I feel like he answers our questions better than most of the specialists we see. He is nice to my son and listens to our concerns. The staffing issue that people have mentioned is so much better now that he is upstairs. I only wish he had a clone so we could get in on weekends and holidays. We love Dr. Wilcox! We have been going to him since my daughter was born in 2012. He is very cute with my kids and always interacts with them. I think he and my daughter could talk for hours. This dr took Terrible care of me beginning to end. (hodgkin's lymphoma) He had a 1 patient that died from a port infection so he decided NO ports for ANY of his patients. I had to get most of my info from Facebook since he provided very little. He ordered me an echo to check my heart b4 chemo began, no one ever called to set it up. I learned from my fb group that not only should I have an echo but Also a pulmonary function test to check my lungs. Had to call and ask... oh yes I needed both (thank God for fb). Anything that I had issues with I was told to 'hang in there'. I only got to see him 2xs before chemo began. The rest of the time nurses only. (seen him only 2xs for my entire treatment) Then when I told them I had issues with my quality of care, he canceled my very important appt with him after my pet scan. He lied and said I Asked them to cancel it. I truly believe he did not want to deal with me face to face about my very real issues concerning my medical care with him. Do NOT trust this dr! Runnnnnnnnn.

If I could rate 0 stars I would. The Doctor goes out of town and tells his nurses to do his work. The nurses do NOT do the work. My wife and I had to do their work FOR them. BEWARE! First time moms means they will try to screw you over because they think you do not know any better.
We LOVE Dr. Wilcox! I love all of the advice and opinions he gives. We have been going to him for 8+ years with my four children.
Ryan Wilcox has been the pediatrician for my three youngest children since birth. Meaning, we have been with him for 16 years. He is a great doctor. He is caring and personable and I feel he is a friend. I could not recommend him more highly. He is popular and sometimes hard to get an appointment with.

We have been going to Dr. Wilcox for the past 2 years now. He has always been great but his staff has not been too inviting or friendly. The receptionist seems irritated and annoyed every time I have spoken with her and the couple of nurses that has helped us have rushed us and acted like they had better things to do then to answers questions or concerns I have had. I'm not sure if we just kept catching them on "bad days" but we have decided to switch pediatricians do to this. It's too bad because Dr. Wilcox is great but just needs a better staff. Dr Wilcox has been our pediatrician for 14 years. He's knowledgeable and makes sure that you understand what is happening. He lets you know what you should or should not be worried about when your child is sick. He's the best Doctor!

I took my 10 month old to Dr Wilcox on the day of a bad snowstorm when I didn't want to make the 40 minutes (in good weather) trek to his regular doctor. I was hopeful based on his reviews that he could be our new regular pediatrician for both my baby and my 3 year old since the office was so much closer to home. The lady at the front was snippy and unhelpful, and hurried me away from the desk and huffed at me when I didn't move quickly enough as I juggled my sick baby, blanket and lovey, diaper bag, credit card and co-pay receipt, and a stack of new patient paperwork. The only positive of the visit would be that I did get back to our exam room quickly. But Dr Wilcox rushed in, didn't even say hi (and he was dressed casually, which is fine, but I didn't know if he was the doctor or a nurse!), and interrupted or talked over me through the whole appointment. He asked me questions that I had already answered in my explanation of what was wrong, which he obviously didn't listen to. I will never visit this doctor, and maybe not this office, again.
I LOVE Dr. Wilcox and his staff. They are very professional and I never feel rushed when in their office. We travel 50 miles just to see him. :) That's how good he is.
