Not only does Dr. Macke take the time to listen to me he thinks outside the box and is willing to try anything to improve my quality of life. I am very thankful to have found Dr. Macke and trust him completely. He continues to make such a positive impact on my quality of life!

I was blessed to meet Dr. Macke 6 years ago in Madison, WI. He was very pleasant to speak to and didn't sugar coat anything. I was a little nervous upon arriving to his office to discuss the procedure, but by the time we left I had no worries what so ever.

From my initial consultation throughout the entire process including surgery I am completely pleased with Dr Macke expert care He took great care to listen to my questions and answers all my concerns. In my opinion he is truly an expert in his field and I highly recommend him to anyone needing a thoracic surgeon.

Dr. Macke, his PA, and his entire staff are excellent and so efficient. I recently had a large paraesophageal hernia repair done robotically that has changed my life for the positive. Dr. Macke is simply the best. I saw him for a hiatal hernia with a constricted esophagus, following a trip to the ER. He communicated clearly, always answered all of my questions thoroughly, and he addressed my concerns regarding surgery. Because of the stricture in my esophagus and the pandemic, I was under Dr. Macke's care for about four months during which he performed a number of EGDs to dilate my esophagus, with my treatment culminating in surgery early this month. At every visit - to the hospital and his office - I met at least one person who said Dr. Macke is the best. Or that Dr. Macke had performed surgery on them...and he is the best. Having Dr. Macke as my surgeon was a great experience. From my first appointment to the end after my surgery he was friendly, knowledgeable and thorough. He did a great job. He listened and answered all my questions. All his staff was great. I would strongly recommend him to everyone.

Dr. Macke saved my husbands life almost 2 years ago. My husband was rushed from Banner Heart hospital in Mesa Az. in the middle of the night to Banner Boswell in Sun City. Dr. Macke was there waiting at 1am for Wayne to arrive by ambulance. At 2am Dr. Macke and Dr. Goodman and many others had my husband in surgery. After a 3 weeks in ICU he was released to go to rehab which he stayed at for 3 days (he worked hard to get his stength back. )The last time Dr. Macke saw Wayne he weighed 125 pounds today he is up to 154 pounds. And is back to mormal ! I thank Dr. Macke so very much for saving my husbands life . Sandra Lusthoff

From the very first visit Dr Macke and his staff were far above anyone we have ever encountered. Their communication with my spouse both during her surgery and after was beyond my belief. Dr Macke hinself called my husband with an update right after her surgery. At my visit yesterday they were just as happy and pleased as i was about the outcome. Never have I or my family had such an experience with Dr Macke and his staff.

I was very blessed to be referred to Dr Macke. He and his staff showed great care and concern for my health. Once I decided to have surgery Dr Macke had me scheduled within a week.

Dr. Macke is a good surgeon and outstanding doctor with a compassionate low key bedside manner who makes himself available to his patients on their terms.

Dr. Macke performed a minimally evasive hiatal hernia correction surgery that had been causing me extreme discomfort for a while. IMO Dr. Macke is an outstanding surgeon who takes his time to explain & educate his patients of their malady. He is also very kind, meticulous, & flexible for his patients. I would highly recommend Dr. Macke for thoracic & vascular surgery.

Dr. Ryan performed minimally evasive surgery to correct my hiatal hernia that had been giving extreme GI discomfort for the past year. At first, I was referred to Dr. Macke’s counterpart, but Dr. Macke was able to see much sooner to treat my malady. IMO, Dr. Macke is one of the best Cardiothoracic surgeons due to his careful & meticulous care for his patients. Moreover, Dr. Macke & his staff are very kind, flexible, and helpful to meet the needs of patients. I highly recommend Dr. Macke.
