Very unsympathetic, waiting for you to break down - sadistic & mean esp if you say you're getting another dr, Also shady - only takes cash & will send you over to St Lukes to use the atm. i'VE NEVER seen this in a good dr. Dr Rajesh Shenava is your bet bet. Referred by my incredible heart Dr Ahmed. These are the kind of people who will totally take care of you & you can trust them for life.

HORRIBLE Nephrologist. Does not answer office phone. It does not matter how many times you call the office or doctor on call, you will not be taken care of or responded to. Dialysis patients are money makers for Dr.Patel. From reporting false visits to the clinic he’s supposed to come to weekly (you’ll early see him, he sends his NP (sometimes) and it’s very vague and brief. - very nice NP, but as a dialysis patient, I expect more than 5 minutes and asking “you good buddy”) and charging your insurance consistently. Dr. Patel also terminated my care via my dialysis clinic. No call, no email and no US mail (he claims he did all of this, I’ve yet to receive it) to me, the patient. This is all seems very money driven, and I’m not sure Patel even really cares about his patients that receive treat meant outside of his private (direct profit) dialysis canter (Bellaire dialysis) I have been prescribed recalled medicine, asked for prescriptions to be filled with no response, and inquired on my reoccurring edema even on treatment and didn’t hear from or see Dr. Patel. It’s unfortunate that I had a great Kidney doctor (Dr. Mauther) before Patel that treated me wonderfully and followed up with his patients and I had to change dialysis centers and couldn’t see him anymore. As a healthcare professional (Speech Pathologist) it’s so hard for me to watch the constant poor principals and unethical practice of Dr. Rupert Patel. It’s sad that he treats patients like this and even more sad that most patients are not functionally and fully dependent enough to speak up for themselves on Dialysis (thank goodness I am not in this position and can help people to avoid this.) so he keeps charging your insurance and gets away with it everytime. I just wanted to say that Dr. Patel has been amazing. I can't believe I almost didn't want to come here because of some of the reviews that people left. I am truly grateful that I went with my gut and came anyway. I am very pleased with the way that he has been taking care of my sons medical issue and his staff was just as amazing!

This doctor almost killed me! He knew what to give me from my past records and refused until I was hospitalized and given the treatments he knew I needed! Please go somewhere else Dr Rupert Patel is not a good doctor his license should be revoked!

Appeared to be good on first visit and we liked him. He ordered tests & wrote one prescription for my husband who had a recent kidney stone. There was a misunderstanding about the dosage the way it was written & pharmacy called office to confirm, no call back to pharmacy. Pharmacy places second call..there was a lack of communication & further miscommunication...I was getting stressed because the drs office didn't appear to be of much help. By 3rd day I called drs office to try to clear it up. The girl finally seemed to understand & said she'd again talk to Dr. Patel & get back to us. The next call from her was to say Dr. Patel NO LONGER wanted to see my husband as a patient & to find another dr! My husband had already gone to the labs with orders written by Dr. Patel...too bad, you are no longer a patient! What kind of Dr. Is THIS temperamental over a misunderstanding over a prescription???? Dr Patel treated my husband and he did a great job. Dr patel is honest, knowledgeable with great bedside matters. His office staff is excellent ,I never had a problem getting intouch with Dr Patel if I had any questions..

My husband had a normal office visit with this dr, leaving with lab oders & a prescription. The script was improperly written for a common medication, therefore, the pharmacy could not fill it until they verified the dosage. In 3 days they could not get an appropriate answer from the drs. office. I called to try to clear up the misunderstanding. On the afternoon of the 3rd day, my husband received a call that the doctor NO LONGER WANTED him as a patient! WHAT kind of Dr does this????
