This is the finest place in all of Birmingham to have your bladder checked out. They do other things as well, like check you’re prostate, take urine specimens and they also draw blood. It’s a one stop shop for all of your urological needs! If they could only do cardiovascular exams, handle my diabetic issues, and treat my poor vision, do knee replacements, perform MOHS procedures for cancer treatment and take care of my hearing loss, take care of my neuropathy, I wouldn’t need to see anybody else! I had the best experience at a doctor's office that I've ever had. From the time I walked in till my appointment was over. Not the usual sit and wait an hour, finally get put in room for another wait. This was very well organized, and friendly. Dr Kitchens is my new hero. From her warm friendly welcome to her making me feel totally at ease. She explained things in clear layman's language, made sure you understood everything and let you know she was there to do all she could to help you. Dr. Kitchens, as well as her staff, are some of the most caring people I have ever met. While working with me on a cystitis issue, she personally called to check on me, and even tried to make things easier for me by rounding up necessary resources, closer to my home. Even though I live an hour and a half away, even though the facilities at West Bessemer aren’t as new and fancy as some other places (Yet, clean and professional.), NONE of these would ever keep me from seeing her as my doctor! I would drive as far as needed, to see Dr. Kitchens!! If you want a doctor who cares, who is concerned about you as a person (and not think of you as a number), this doctor is for you. She is just a delightful person. From the minute I first met her I was comfortable with her-- Being a guy with a female urologist seemed like something years Id never have considered....Incredible personable and professional, there is nothing I will not discuss with her.. I highly recommend her to others and regret ever being nervous about a female physician doing the kind of exams that you need at the urologist...I just love her..

I was VERY pleased with Dr. R. Kitchens. She was very easy to talk with, very through and I was very impressed that she called me the next day & talked with me about my Urine Analyze. I really Like this Doctor!! I was a former patient of Dr. R. Dennis, who recently retired. I am VERY pleased to be put into the capable hands of Dr. Kitchens!

Dr. Kitchens cared for me, doing a painful episode, of priapism, recently, at Medical West, in Bessemer, Al. Her quick and professional attention to my ordeal, was second to none; thank you Dr. Kitchens. Not only is Dr. Kitchens, professional, attentive to details and intelligent, she is also good looking!!! (Smile). I first seen Dr.Kitchen after my gynecologic put a bladder sling in that I was having servere pain and infection from. Dr Kitchen seen me treated me with lovecare and compassion ,more than any Doctor I've ever seen, she went above and beyond the call of duty. She got me immediately scheduled with a surgeon that took me in ,schedule me in to surgery removed the bladder sling, and now the chronic servere throbbing pain from the sling that comsumed my everydays have now subsided. My sincere thanks
