Roy Fried

Dr. Fried was my parents’ physician over many years. Each suffered through awful forms of dementia over extended periods of time. I was included in their care and treatment every step of the way. While we had great caregivers in a transitional care community, my sister and I were solely responsible for their emotional care which could be both physically and emotionally draining. Thro ughout this timeDr. Fried provided us with as much care as he did my parents. He worked with us through many tough decisions, making sure we had the resources and information available to honor my parents’ wishes, of which he was well aware. He took the time to gain an understanding of what was important to all of us. He provided me with unconditional support when working through some difficult care and treatment issues when my dad was in the nursing care unit. I had to advocate for my parents as they could not for themselves – I could not have done it with Dr. Fried’s guidance.

My mother, mother-in-law and father-in-law all had the benfit of Dr. Fried's knowledgable, caring care while at Ingleside at King Farm. I can not recommend him highly enough. You can do no better than to have Dr. Fried as your or your parent's doctor.

My mother was in Memory Care for 18 months and Dr. Fried was her doctor in the assisted living facilty. Not only was he thorough with his examinations, but he also carefully explained the process. He educated me about dementia and Alzheimer's in a caring way. He took the time to answer all my questions. On the occasions when I called, he responded quickly. He and I agreed that comfort was the goal for her. His interactions put both Mom and I at ease. He saw Mom through to the end and treated her with dignity, professionalism, and kindness. How lucky was I that Dr. Fried was Mom's physician. I am very pleased.

Dr Fried treated my mother for 3 years when she was on a memory care unit. He was attentive to her and to me. He is an excellent communicator and was very available by phone and email. When critical decisions had to be made about hospitalization and, ultimately, hospice care, he partnered well with the hospital physician and with the family. He cared about my mom’s psychosocial as well as medical we’ll-being. Questions about office wait time etc are NA since services are provided at home.
