Roy Jeffrey Carls

I had rotator cuff surgery performed by Dr. Carls. He is just the greatest and this is the second time I have used him for my repairs! Good manners and answers all your questions and the follow-up is great. His staff treats you very nicely. I do not understand a couple of the less-than-5-star comments here. Especially a person who praises him and then leaves just 4 stars. 2 major surgeries were done and I am up and running thanks to Dr. Carls.

Dr. Carl's is #1 in my book and I've seen several Orthos in my time of related issues!

Cessation is not a viable option, for the lifelong athlete. Dr. Carls' sensitivity and understanding of my need as a serous, albeit aged, athlete is appreciated. First visit, spacious office with busy and pleasant staff. Looking forward to the good doctor's path of care.

Gave me options concerning my knee. Took X-ray of problem area, and I was able to receive treatment that day.

I have seen Dr. Carls for TKR x2 & Carpal Tunnel x2. Most recent visit was shoulder. I trust Dr. Carl's, his PA's and his staff.

Haven’t seen dr yet and have been waiting for 2 hours. Still 9 ppl ahead of us , ppl have been waiting since 130 and r still waiting. Obviously this dr thinks his time and money are more important than his patients. All I can say is this dr better be well worth the wait or he is gonna get a mouthful of my opinions! Highly recommend. Found out what was causing my pain and acted immediately. He and his staff are very friendly!

Dr. Carls gave me back my mobility, (bilateral knee replacements) and my ability to use my hands without pain, (carpel tunnel release). I highly recommend him and frequently do to people who complain about knee pain.

This man caused my son three more surgeries by messing up so horribly on his surgery. Leaving 19 screws and other that had to be removed by Ruby at WVU...24 inches incision with skin graff from other leg. Now his leg is crooked causing so many physical/emotional/mental challenges. Someone needs to stop this man.

Dr Carls did a knee replacement and shoulder surgery on a friend of mine with arthritis. She is up in 80’s and did wonderful after surgery. I have gone to him and very pleased with him.

Dr. Carls is most excellent in caring & explaining FULLY what's what. I've lived in many states & seen various doctors. Dr Carls ranks in my top 5!

From my first office visit to my surgical procedure I have not complaints about Dr. Carls or his staff. The staff was very helpful and kind all 4 times that I have communicated with them from setting up appointments, to having questions about medical paperwork to surgical questions. Dr. Carls himself is very friendly, professional and willing to answer all questions. He was not in a hurry to get a way but sat and talked. The day of surgery he came in to see me again to see if I had any questions or concerns. His upbeat personality left me at ease and not feeling anxious. He has excellent bedside manners. Couldn't ask for any better. Very nice. Answered all my questions and concerns before and after surgery. Staff at his office is great nice helpful. Concern. Helpful. No pressure to have anything done helped it research. Can't say enough. Love them all. My right knee was a total knee replacement and having left knee done here soon. Would not go any where else. Terrible customer service. Receptionist is rude and disrespectful. I do not recommend this place.

Had an appointment with PA who was really good. Attempted to schedule follow-up appointments only to have them rescheduled by the central office staff (while I waited). Dr Carl’s conducted my husbands feet surgery. He had tarsal tunnel, heel spurs, and a thickened and scarred plantar with plantar fasciitis. My husband couldn’t walk across a concrete floor to even use the restroom at work his feet hurt so bad. Since the surgery, my husband has made a full recovery. Dr Carl’s gave my husband back his freedom to walk without pain. Dr Carl’s also treated our three sons. He reattached my sons knee when it was ripped off in an accident, broken bones and stress fractures. Can’t say enough. We love Dr Carl’s Dr Carl’s conducted my husbands feet surgery. I saw Dr. Carls for a knee problem I was so impressed with the process from start to finish. He explained everything that was going on and gave me options. His staff was very helpful and so kind. They seem like a little family. I tell all of my friends about this place !

I have been a patient of Dr Carls for the past 7 years I have recommended him to all of my friends and family. He is an excellent and compassionate surgeon. The office staff is top notch they always go above and beyond what is needed and expected. I work in the healthcare community and have dealt with many physicians and staff I have to say this office is one of the best !

I contacted the office about a problem with a shoulder surgery. I spoke with an assistant. I asked my question about the shoulder. I was told she would contact the doctor and call me back by the end of that day. I was never called back. I called their office the next day. the office manager said she never said anything about calling me back. then called me a liar. 3 people heard her on speaker. I then hung up. we will pursue this with the proper authorities. and the local news media!
