My son was under Dr. Tao’s care for anxiety. Trying to get him to attend his senior year of high school was a nightmare. He was diagnosed with depression as a college freshman. His new psychiatrist took him off Prozac, and he realized it was the cause of the foggy feeling he’d had for years. He ended up taking a medical leave to get his depression under control. It is absolutely unacceptable that Dr. Tao failed to diagnose his depression, given that she supposedly specializes in this population. Proper treatment could have saved him so much misery. Avoid this woman.

Not a very good doctor; only interested in scheduling appointments to charge fees, $460 for an hour, does not take insurance. She comes late for the sessions, and does not give good medical advice. What she says in person to you is not the same she puts in the medical notes. Always ask to see her notes. Even better, look for a doctor who takes your insurance even if they are out of the area. Virtual meetings work well, even outside of the Covid environment.

Dr Tao is a MD that does not do the job of an MD. Dr Tao only cares about getting appointments on her schedule while Dr Tao does as little work as possible. Dr Tao will make you schedule appointments every three to four weeks for 30 minutes and $160 dollars’ cash! (No insurance accepted), when she is only doing 15-minute medicine checks that can be done every three months and if this is not dishonest enough she will lie and break patient confidentiality to protect herself. As a clinician, she did her job. I took a gene test and she got me on the right meds. Her office staff is absolutely abysmal. Over the last year, there have been no less than 10 scheduling mishaps. Dr. Tao makes you come in for a 30 min appt every 30 days, regardless of how long you have been on your med. I'm at over a year-- still every 30 days. She'll meet w/ you for 15 min, where she will discuss anything by your health, and charge you for 30 min. Got the right meds, not the right doctor.
