Dr.vilela is very patient and is an good listener, he comforts you and asks you when you need a break as an outpatient visit for the nose and the surgery went amazing he healed very quicky.

We had our surgery December 20. Our daughter has been excited

We have had a great experience with Dr. Vilela. He recently did my daughters cochlear implant surgery and it was a wonderful experience overall. The nurses in the West Campus office are also great.

My daughter’s pediatrician referred her to this doctor because she has reoccurring ear infections. My daughter has had 3 ear infections back to back . And this doctor really upset me because he was so nonchalant, condescending & very dismissive. He barely checked her. Spent 15 minutes on our visit. Let me provide a detailed visit. First he states that ear tugging is normal because all babies do it for comfort. That’s a lie. Every baby is different. I know my daughter. My daughter doesn’t tug, dig or pull at her ears for comfort. She is experiencing discomfort and is very fussy so I know something is wrong. Then he proceeds to compare my child to his child. First of all, that has nothing to do with the patient which is my child. On top of that, he tells me to schedule her a hearing test 6 months from now. Like what!!! That’s stupid . She could be deaf by then fooling with a joke of doctor like this. My daughter’s pedi wouldn’t refer her to ENT if she wasn’t concern. I wouldn’t recommend this doctor to anyone that wants to keep their hearing. I asked my daughter’s pedi for another referral to a different ENT that actually cares about the parent’s concern & actually care about my child. Dr. Vilela is an incredible ENT doctor. I trust Dr. Vilela with my eyes closed. I strongly believe that he does a wonderful job addressing parent's concerns and paying attention to every child's needs to get them back to being healthy. Dr. Vilela puts himself in the parents' shoes addressing each and every one of their concerns. It’s rare to find a doctor that combines such personal touches and care for a patient as a person with outstanding quality of medical care. Dr. Vilela takes his time to go over the diagnosis clearly and treatment options. I have been to other doctors in the past that breeze in and out of the room in 5 mins and barely even talk to you. My experience with Dr. Vilela’s care for my deaf daughter has been excellent! Dr. Vilela has performed two CI surgeries on my daughter and he was kind, compassionate and explained the process very well. He has a great reputation in the CI community and I couldn’t be happier having my daughter’s well-being in his hands!

My experience with Dr. Vilela has been the best. Excellent technical skills and good professional. He did cochlear implant surgery on my daughter and we had the best results with no issues. I would recommend his services to friends and family.

Absolutely the best Doctor we could have found to do our sons cochlear implant’s. We drove 3 hours to Houston from Corpus Christi to see him and other doctors at Texas Children's Hospital. And every trip was worth it. He was very thorough and explained the entire process to us on the first visit. Gave us time to ask all the questions we had (and there were a lot) and took the time to answer them all. He was very truthful and upfront that it would not be easy on us or our child but if we put the work and the effort into it we would reap the benefits. We listened to his and the audiologist instructions and our son is doing amazing five years later. Every time we get the opportunity to see him I thank him for giving my son the gift of hearing and to this day I still cannot hold back the tears when we visit him. There’s not enough I could ever say here on this post that would explain the amount of respect and gratitude I have for him and his team at Texas Children’s Hospital. I’ve had many visits with Dr. Vilela and he’s always kind, knowledgeable and direct. He has performed 2 CI surgeries on my daughter and they both have gone very smoothly. I couldn’t be happier having him as my daughter’s ENT Dr.

Dr. Vilela is an excellent doctor . He truly cares about his patients he is definitely one of the top doctor I have ever taken my child too . If it wasn’t for him my daughter would have probably been in pain for a lot longer but thanks to his fast action we were in a faster direction to finding out about my daughter very painful condition. Dr Vilela is the GOAT (greatest of all ear nose and throat) Dr! He performed surgeries for both of my girls, 13 years apart. They both needed tubes, one had adenoids and tonsils removed as well. Both did fine after and have gone on to thrive because he took good care of them. He takes time to explain things and I would absolutely recommend him to any parent. Thank you for what you do. Dr. Vilella is personal and gives his very best!

Dr. Vilela is a very smart ENT doctor! We went to another ENT doctor prior to Dr. Vilela & it was a complete waste of time, but Dr. Vilela got us on track, quickly detected what the problem was & what caused my child to snore so loud & have discomfort & shortly after that visit, my child had her adenoidectomy and tonsillectomy completed with care. He's thorough, caring, hands on & will call himself & check on you to see how things are during the at home after-care. I wish we could see him for other things, but hands down he's the absolute best doctor on earth! Dr. Vilela is a very smart ENT doctor! Dr. Vilela just performed my son’s cochlear implant surgery and he did a wonderful job! The incision is minimal and looks great. His bed side manner is amazing and he really cares about his patients!

I had been to him for my daughter. When I asked for the issue/problem, he asked a weird question saying that ''why do you want to know about the issue'. Which I haven't expected. I am the father and I should know about her.

Dr. Vilela cared for my son for many years before we moved from Texas. Dr. Vilela began treating my son from the time my son was only a few months old for multiple issues from a breathing disorder to a hearing impairment. He did several surgeries on my son over the years and we were sad to leave the state because it meant we had to leave his care. My son loves him and I trust him completely! Dr. Vilela has an absolutely great bedside manner. He explained both options to me and did not push me to pick either option. I've never had to use an ENT for my daughter but if she ever does need to see an ENT again, we will definitely be seeing him.

Great Dr. with my son he had to have his tonsils remove, him and all the staff are really nice to patients and family.
