Dr. Ron Smith has to be one of the best thoracic surgeon I know. He guided me through my cancer journey and greatly assisted me in decision making. I also worked with him in Florida and was sorry to see him relocate!

Misdiagnosed Dallas Thrower w cancer. Removed a perfectly good lung. Left Dallas with broken ribs, and a hole in his back which was repaired by a REAL doctor in Sarasota. Dallas has limited life now, nerve damage and no...we couldn't sue. Smith should be removed from practice. A mistake of this magnitude should be looked into. He owes Dallas for damages, pain and suffering. He did NOT do a biopsy as promised until AFTER the surgery... if you are referred to him...RUN!

Dr. Smith performed a lobectomy on my husband. Everything was fine in the hospital recovering and he was sent home with a chest tube for drainage. He ended up developing an infection due to the chest tube not being anchored properly (as stated by Dr. Smith). My husband ended up back in the hospital for another week because of it, then had to have IV medications for 3 weeks at home (+$$$). I think Dr. Smith could have prevented the 2nd hospital stay if he'd prescribed antibiotics immediately.

Dr Smith performed a CABG4 on me in 2016. My cardiologist said I had the "Widow Maker" and survival rate is low. My gratitude toward Dr. Smith is unbounded. His skills and that of his team are superlative. If you want the best result, call Dr Ronald Smith!

We loved Dr. Smith. He made sure we understood the test results and why the procedure was necessary. He was very straightforward with the information he provided and the test results. He made sure we understood the options. During the procedure, Dr. Smith kept the family informed and took his time for any questions after the procedure indicating he wanted to make sure all questions/concerns were answered before he left. He kept everyone well informed.
