Dr. Ronald D Abramson

Dr Abramson is a good listener who brings wisdom and direction into my life. I cannot say enough good about him I appreciate the professionalism and dedication he brings to his practice.

He is absolutely the best therapist in Metro West Massachusetts.

I am very disappointed with how Dr. Abramson is not filling his professional requirements. He has had surgery, but we had arranged to talk on the phone or teleconference while he was recovering. I have desperately tried to reach him to find out if we are going to speak or not. It is very unprofessional not to have been notified of what the situation will be. This minimum notification should have been before his surgery. Even if I hear from him today, I will remain disappointed.

I highly recommend Dr. Abramson. I saw him for major depression for eighteen years. He listened, he responded, sometimes with a joke if appropriate. Previous therapists seemed to consider listening their only role, which I found almost useless. His responses were welcome and helpful. I consider him a superb psychiatrist. We have covered a lot of ground together.

I have been going to Dr. Abramson for about 17 years now due to chronic illnesses and anxiety/depression brought on by those ailments that peak and valley.....I have found him to be very caring, but he will let you know when he disagrees with you. He wants you to come to the realization of why you are there and I feel he cares, which is big with me. He talks over medications with you if he thinks you need them and you are a partner with him in your care. He listens and tries to hear what you are 'really' saying and tries to clarify that. Everyone has to find a therapist that they are comfortable with and can talk with honestly, otherwise the therapy wont work. While i can only tolerate smaller amounts of meds due to side effects, for me talk therapy with the meds helps a lot. Each person has to find the right therapist, therapy, meds, for them.

Dr. Abramson spent the entirety of each session on his laptop and seemed distracted the entire time. He forgot which medications he prescribed me and misrepresented how much I would be billed for his services. Finally he tried to push his religious and highly unscientific views about a universal consciousness which he believes is proved by quantum mechanical experiments. I wouldn't let him psychoanalyze my dog.

I highly recommend Dr. Abramson. Dr. Abramson is truly an excellent psychiatrist! He is one of the best doctors I have seen over the past few decades. Both sincere, insightful, Dr. Abramson is more about the therapy than medications, which I like. That said, Dr. Abramson also respects that patients often need meds, and he seems informed about choices and open to what works best for the patient.
