Dr Shapiro did my 3rd transplant in Pittsburgh and still follow up with him today in NY. He is always accessible and always has my best interest. I’ve seen doctors everywhere and he is the best of the best.

Dr. Shapiro was one of the first Drs that I met while I was waiting for my kidney/pancreas transplant at UPMC Pittsburgh. He was always there to answer any questions I had and talked to me as a "person" not a "number". A down to earth man. He gave me his opinion on what would be best for my situation. He made being there a relaxing experience, especially in the sweat pants, sweaters, sneakers, and no white coat. He is greatly missed by many of his patients!!!!!
