Dr. Emerson is an expert in his field. Easy to talk to. Unfortunately, His uncooperative staff make all of the treatment decisions for him and they take an adversarial approach to interacting with his patients and I don't know why. I'm tired of them stressing me out unnecessarily. I'll go somewhere else.

Dr Emerson did a double knee replacement on me (one knee and the other 6 months later). I am an ex-competitive soccer player (30 years +) and he said calling my knees "geriatric" was stretching it. They were destroyed and within a year of the surgery, they both feel good enough to play again (but I promised I wouldn't). An amazing, caring doctor at the top of his field. Saw the doctor in May. No problem. He sent me for blood work. My results have been in my patient portal since the beginning of June with 2 tests being flagged as abnormal. I called his office and left a message for his medical assistant/nurse. A month later, no call back!

Has done both of my hips and now 23 years later having to revise the first one he did due to wear and tear. He is awesome, highly recommend him, great communication, great bedside manner, explains everything thoroughly.

6 weeks ago I had a hip replacement with anterior approach by Dr. Emerson. Prior to this I was in constant pain with decreased motion in hip. My surgery was day that OR opened from COVID restrictions. The hospital , doctors and staff along the way were great. Always felt safe and all rules followed above what required. Surgery went great. Left same day of surgery and along way had minimal pain. Would definitely recommend Dr Emerson and Presbyterian Plano. Dr. Emerson is a rock star! He's done both of my partial knee implants. The first took place two years ago....after I had been to a surgeon in a different city--nearer where I love--who didn't even say anything about a partial implant. In fact, I didn't know this was an option! Upon that visit two years ago, Dr. E determined by an extra x-ray that I would be a "perfect" candidate for a partial implant, rather than a full knee replacement. He said the other half of my knee was fine, and unless he encountered something unexpected during surgery, a partial implant should do the trick. Three weeks ago, he did the same surgery on my right knee. Dr. Emerson and his staff are excellent. Anytime I see someone walking lopsided, I tell them that I know just the doctor who can help them! I recently had partial knee replacement surgery. I was very pleased with the way i was treated. The staff, the hospital staff and personnel went above and beyond to make sure all my questions were answered and made sure i was comfortable and that my needs were met. Definitely would recommend this place to my family and friends .

I have used Dr Emerson for Hip and both knee replacements and have had great results each time. Great Outcomes EACH time. He is an outstanding surgeon and a very caring person. Dr . Emerson has replaced both hips and one knee for me. He was very informative and took a lot of time explaining options. All three surgeries went well with no problems and less pain and recuperation time. His post op visits are thorough and helpful. I have had three other doctors from other areas, and none have done the surgeries as well. I would gladly travel to have him do any other joint surgeries! He is an excellent physician!

It’s been seven years since I’ve had both knees replaced. Dr. Emerson changed my life. I can play tennis and walk 5+ miles and with no pain. I think of Dr Emerson all the time —truly a gifted doctor.

Interviewed 4 doctors for my knee replacement and I chose Dr. Emerson. Glad I did! Surgery and staff was seamless as they held my hand through the entire process.

Dr. Emerson is great. Staff is Great. Billing Department, not so great. Requested way more money than they needed and it took them many weeks to refund. And the hospital did the same thing and I have not received those funds yet almost 3 months later.

First visit really clicks. Doctor took time to answer all questions, got an extra x-ray to be thorough, and scheduled knee surgery at an ideal time.

I had a total knee replacement on 11/8/19 and had very good care and food fromTexas Health. The staff were awesome and I almost hated to discharge as the food prepared by the chefs was fabulous...had a great hospital stay and highly recommend this facility for care.

Had a good experience on my first visit with Dr. Emerson The staff was helpful and it was easy to make an appointment. His nurse Rachele (not sure if I spelled her name right) was very nice and helpful. Dr Emerson explained and answered all my questions and concerns.

I had a total right hip replacement in August, 2016. I work part time in several OR's and I did my homework before I decided on a surgeon. Dr. Emerson was described to me "as a genius". I agreed because he changed my life from one of pain to one in which I don't even remember I had the surgery. He uses the most up to date method and the healing process was very quick and easy. In the past year , My husband had the opportunity to meet with Dr. Elsharkawy for a broken femur. He also is a wonderful physician and one that I would trust with my care. Dr. Roger Emerson is a wonderful Hip & Knee Surgeon. He is a kind and caring Doctor who loves what he is doing. We have known Dr. Emerson for 13 years. He has performed hip and knee replacements surgery on my husband. In January Dr. Emerson did partial knee replacement in both of my legs at the same time. The recovery was fast. Here it is the end of February and I'm feeling great. Had to see Dr. Emerson on Oct.1st. I was having a lot of knee pain. I was over doing my exercising. I got a shot in each knee. It's Oct. 2nd and my knee is feeling better. Dr. Emerson will follow up in Jan. Big lesson learned, at 71 I don't have to exercise everyday. I still love Dr. Emerson and would recommend to anyone. My husband had 4 joint replacements at Texas Center for Joint Replacement. Dr. Emerson should really receive some kind of commendation because he is consistently the best physician we have encountered. The staff is excellent and everyone we have worked with is top notch!

Dr. Emerson replaced both my knees and my right hip. I was able to go back to back after both my knee replacements. Retired before I needed hip replacement. He is an excellent surgeon, the very best.

I had a total hip replacment 11 years ago and recently a total knee replacements. I would recommend Dr. Emerson to everyone and I have. He the best of the best and his staff are caring and kind and very efficient. I think Dr. Emerson is the finest knee and hip specialist around. He replaced the hip and knee of my financial advisor's wife and he said at Dr. Emerson's stage of practice he does surgery for the love of it not money. I find that Dr. Emerson gently suggests surgery but leaves the decision totally up to me. He does not pressure or make you feel that you are wasting his time. I can't say enough nice things about him and his office!

The nurse who examined me was pleasant, polite & respectful. She & Dr. R. Emerson, MD, discussed my case, after it was reviewed by Amanda Ben Simon, PA-c, 2 weeks earlier. They concurred that my extreme pain & discomfort in my left leg was caused by my left hip. X-rays were taken & showed my left hip & knee were in excellent shape. However, the felt that I might have Bursitis &/or tendonitis. To treat this problem, Dr. Emerson, injected my left hip area multiple times with a steroid. The said the steroid would diffuse down the IT Band, & eliminate the pain. My leg is more painful & throbbing all say & nite. I feel it may be caused by my L5, & not my hip. I'm making an appointment with a Spine Orthopedic MD, The nurse who examined me was pleasant, polite & respectful. She & Dr. R.
