Dr. Robyn J. Hakanson

Dr. Hakanson was thorough and took the time to discuss my knee problems at length. Should I need additional treatment or even surgery, I would feel comfortable with her services. My only issue with the practice at large was how long it took for me to get an appointment. It was originally referred in late December, but was not able to secure an appointment until mid March. The delay involved getting my records transferred from my prior surgeon in Virginia Beach. There was some breakdown in communication between the two offices and I feel they could have pursued the issue more aggressively.

Doc awesome. PA great but felt rushed. Brooke fantastic. Front desk not so great or would be 5 star for all.

Always a great visit with Dr. Hakanson. She is professional, caring, and very pleasant.

I broken and dislocated my shoulder in September 2021. After several unsuccessful attempts in getting it back into joint at the free standing ER in Cave Spring, I was transported to the ER at Lewis Gale, where I was greeted by Dr. Hakanson. Her bedside manner and laughter, definitely kept my spirits up during the stressful time. She explained exactly what they would be doing once they took me to the OR and that she would take very good care of me. My only regret was that I had taken blood thinners (because the urgent care doc the prior evening thought my issues was a blood clot) and she was unable to perform the necessary surgery that I needed to repair the break. I am now in the unfortunate situation that I need to have a meniscus repair and I will be seeing her next week to discuss. I would not hesitate to have Dr. Hakanson take care of any joint related needs. She is TOP NOTCH!

Dr. Hakanson listens and shares pertinent information with her patients. She is absolutely the best!

Dr. Hakanson was able to fit me into her busy schedule and completed a consultation for the best plan for treatment of my broken leg. She has a great bedside manner and uses active listening to what my needs and concerns were, and she answered all of my questions. I highly recommend Dr. Hakanson for her thoroughness to give the best care for her patients.

This is my second visit to Dr. Hakanson. Dr. Hakanson replaced my right hip joint and everything went without a hitch. I was pleased with the exchange of information about the procedure. Dr. Hakanson and I are planning on the replacing of the left hip joint.

Saw Dr Hakanson by happenstance when my provider had to be out of the office. She was wonderful. I greatly appreciated her taking time to work in other patients on her busy schedule most of all. She was updated on my situation and picked up the reins and ran. She helped me mentally as well as physically to continue my healing Lewis Gale Orthopedics is the best!

On May 19th. I had a 1345 visit with Dr. Hakanson. This was a follow-up that was not planned, but was necessary due to a problem with a knee. Dr. Hakanson, and the entire staff were professional and responded on time with no waiting required. Dr. Hakanson has learned the art of listening to understand her patient's needs, not just assume that the patient's explanation fits some predetermined analysis. She BUBBLES with enthusiasm . No matter how you feel upon arrival, you'll most certainly depart feeling much improved just from being treated so professionally by the Doctor, and the entire staff. My problem was resolved with X-Rays, and some follow-up therapy to be arranged at a later date.

Pleased with experience. Staff personable and professional. Would recommend to family and friends.

Dr. Hakanson is a kind, caring and empathetic doctor. From the moment I met her I liked everything about her. She listen to your concerns. She talks with you not at you. He professionalisms and work ethic is beyond compare. She performed a total knee replacement on both of my knees September 2019 and November 2019. Everything about both procedures went very well and my recovery has been excellent. The quality of my life has improved in every way. I cannot thank her enough. I’m forever grateful for her expertises.

Dr. Hakanson was my surgeon on Dec. 13, 2019. The procedures performed were a rotator cuff repair, debridement of labrum, and subacromial decompression. She was able to perform the procedure arthroscopically. Each time we met, before and after the surgery, Dr. Hakanson always took her time, explained what my options were, what was going to be done, and answered any questions I had. She was easy to talk with, and my surgery went extremely well. I would recommend Dr. Hakanson to anyone with a rotator cuff tear.

Dr. Hakanson is the best Orthopedic surgeon, she did my knee surgery and I had very little pain after the total knee replacement and I am doing great 4 weeks after surgery. My incision looks great and my mobility is much better. Definitely recommend her to anyone needing a replacement joint.

Dr. Hakanson is the best orthopedic practitioner I have seen, and I have seen several! She is extremely approachable, personable, and encouraging. She is up to date on the latest procedures and medical information. Dr. Hakanson is a straight shooter; she is honest and up-front with her patients. I have recommended her to many friends and family members.

After suffering bilateral shoulder ligament damage, I went to see Dr. Hakanson at Lewis Gale Orthopedics. I researched and found that Dr. Hakanson has extensive backgound in sports related injuries. I knew that she could be counted on for excellent and very thorough examinations. She followed up with very easy to understand diagnosis and showed via display of the damage.

Dr Hakanson was very professional and friendly explained every thing to me. Brooke the nurse was very friendly and the front staff lady (Sharon) was very friendly also would recommend this doctor and Lewis gale as a whole. From a scale of 1 to 10 everybody gets a 10.

I have had both knees replaced (a year apart) by Dr. Hakanson. Recovery has been excellent. I have found her professional but willing to take the time to listen.

My daughter referred me to Dr. Hakanson, since she did the surgery on her knee back in July, she thought the doctor would be able to help with my problems I was having with my knee. Dr. Hakanson is a really good doctor, and talks to the patients in a way you understand what she says and has a really good bed side manner.

I have been seeing orthopedists for over 35 years. Dr Hakanson is one of the best I have seen. She has a great bedside manner, diagnosed me quickly and had the problem taken care of on the first visit. You can't ask for more.

Was able to schedule an appointment in a timely fashion. Dr. Hakanson was approachable and listened to my questions and concerns. She explained what she thought was going on and made recommendations to help deal with the problem.

She was only interested in my condition only if I needed a hip replacement. Turned out I didn't and she was done. She was not interested in the fact I was still left with the question of why I am having muscle pain in the hip area. Recommendation: find another doctor if you want someone who cares about helping you and not just about a big money maker hip replacement.

I love Dr. Hakanson, hope she stays in this area. I suffered for 11 months, felt like a new person 24 hours after she did total hip replacement.

While practicing in Mount Airy, N.C., Dr. Hakanson performed 2 knee replacements on me, as well as inserting a rod in my hip after falling at church. She is the BEST!! Everyone in Mount Airy wanted Dr. Hakanson to do their ortho surgery. She is an amazing surgeon. If I ever need ortho surgery again, I will travel to Va. so that she could do it.
